[News] Extra Point Block Was The Spark To Historic Comeback

8 posts in this topic

Defensive end Lawrence Guy got some serious push and a hand on the field goal, and rookie cornerback Tavon Young was right where he’s coached to be to return the block for two points. It’s not the first time the special teams unit has made the difference in Cleveland.

My 2 cents so far I like what I see EXCEPT the run game and pass protection. The run game I don't like the delayed hand offs too me that's not pro ball. Never been a big fan of shoot gun hand offs. Get under center and hit the hole hard. Pass protection I know its a work in progress and will get better. Just run the ball better and things like play action and the deep ball will be there also the D will get the rest it needs to be a top unit.

YUP, Will Hill did it last year... Great Coaching on Special Teams. Great that these guys know where to be in times like this.

One thing is for sure, our special teams is is a big time game changing threat to other teams, Best FG kicker in Mr. Money Tucker, best punter with Bullseye Sam Koch (with Cox AKA The Wolf Pack). Hester pulling people out of their shoes, and unreal kick blocking abilities on FG/PATs by a monster front. It's like they are holding frying pans in their hands smacking down kicks. Awesome job guys! GO RAVENS! 25 CB

With the salary cap and good overall parity across the league, it's often the little things that make the difference in wins versus losses. That being the case, it looks like the Raven's special teams may be the difference in a lot of games this year.
This may not be necessary though if the offensive line improves and we can generate a running game. Once we have reliable pass protection and a running game this will be a very tough team to beat. I really hope the return of Urschel (who IMO should take over immediately at center) will allow this to happen.

We have the best special teams unit in the NFL and it's not even close. If any unit played a full 60 mins then it's them. Hats off to our ST for basically shaming our ofense and defense by scoring the first 2 points.
