My open apology to Dennis Pitta.

I was calling for him to retire. I didn't think he should or could came back. I will say every time he is tackled I cringe and hope he gets back up. He is above and beyond our best tight end. Welcome back bud. You killed it today.

Even when he changes directions.

Takes a step.....

I am sure we will learn to relax eventually.  We are just worried for the guy, right ?

I did to.  So far, so good with him!

Thanks for owning up and admitting it. In reality 3/4 of this board was calling for the same thing and so far pitta has been making them eat their words. I never counted him out for a second.

I thought he was done too. I called for his retirement even though I didn't wanna see him quit, I didn't think he could play in the NFL again. Good for him.

I am very surprised he has been able to come back and do well. I was not expecting anything from him this year. More than happy to eat my words, just hope he can hold up okay.

I never said he should retire, but I wanted us to move on from him mainly because of the money and our other TEs.  Imagine how much production we have missed in the two years he has been gone.  Glad its worked out for everyone, still nervous and will be shocked if he plays all year.

I also was saying that he should retire. When you view it as a guy that has won a Super Bowl, made a good amount of money, and has a family, the easy choice would have seemed to be retirement. I give him tons of credit for not only grinding through two major injuries, but becoming the starting tight end again. Hopefully he can continue to put together a solid season.

I was skeptical but hopeful that he could come back.  I wanted to give him one more season to try to prove himself, and I'm glad the team did.

Amazingly, he's second in total yards for a TE through week 2, and he's tied for first in total catches with 3 other TE's (3 of the best at their position in Olsen, Witten and Reed).

there where a couple of tackles that made me uncomfortable watching....he made the big plays we have all grown use to...but man, the injuries are in the back of my head......everytime he caught it I was hopping he would just drop

Great post and I agree with everything you said. We all felt the same thing. (Dennis, just retire). He's a great guy and a great tight end. He has a knack for getting open and he and Joe are on the same page. Yeah, like everyone here, we all cringe when he gets tackled.

I think a lot of fans on these boards including myself were kind of thinking Dennis Pitta should hang em' up but it sure is nice he is making us all (including myself) eat our words....GO PITTA AND GO RAVENS!!!

I didn't doubt he'd play since he was determined. I doubted that he'd even do well, but through two weeks, he's making me shut up. I hope he can keep it up.
