Next up: Ravens at Jacksonville Jaguars, Everbank Field September 25 at 1300

What is interesting is the Jaguars got so overhyped with their draft and free agent pick ups people seem to forget it takes time for players to gain chemistry. They got so overhyped that many picked them to win the super bowl. Another team that got overhyped for the same reason is the Raiders.... I think Jacksonville is finally back on earth after almost beating the Packers. They will be a tough team with their offense. Their defense still needs to come together. I think the Ravens' match ups are great. Julius Thomas will be up against Weddle who has shut down tight ends so far this season. Jimmy Smith is very good against the taller receivers. The match up I am most afraid of is Hurns against Wright. Hurns can put on the jets and fly. I thinkt he Ravens defense matches up with the Jaguars offense pretty well.

Yeah but there was an article on espn I believe that said there was poor calling against Green Bay. I guess there were like 16 huge non-calls or something like that which kept the Jaguars in the game. Plus Green Bay hasn't looked that great to begin with this season.

Other way around

The injury to Linder is a big story to watch.  I haven't watched him play much, but according to most people he's their best offensive lineman.

It's especially huge considering Beachum is also hurt, and Joeckel would probably slide from LG to LT.  That would mean that their starting LT, LG and C will have never played together before and none of them are the best options the Jaguars have for those respective positions.

If this ends up as their starting lineup, I definitely expect Pees to look and try to exploit this weakness.

Ravens LB Elvis Dumervil (foot) says he's shooting to play Sunday at Jacksonville. "At this point, it's heading in the right direction," he said.

Can't wait to see Suggs and Doom on the field at the same time!  Now let's get some third and longs and let them introduce themselves to Mr. Bortles!

Maybe we don't want Doom to play, remember last time?

The Jags seem very confident about this game. Almost over confident just listening to their media pressers. I think they're most likely going to lay another huge egg this week against the Ravens. While I'm always nervous about Ravens games, I am beginning to think we put together a total game and get our first blow out win of the season. Any takers of my opinion?

What in the world have you seen from the Ravens game play in their first 2 games that even remotely looked like a "blow out", dominant or decisive win for them for you to even think that this game versus the Jaguars in their house will be that?  Maybe the term "blow out" means something differently to everyone?  Curious, got to hear this one Elli.....

The closest thing would be quarters 2-4 vs Cleveland, that's the most dominant this team has looked in a while in all 3 phases. I understand that's selective, but if I had to come up with the most recent argument it would be this.

And I'll agree with the rebuttal that this shouldn't count since we still demonstrated the all too familiar slow offensive start, which has manifested itself as a problematic pattern, especially on the road.

But if I had to pull anything for optimistic reasoning, it's quarters 2-4 @ Cleveland, it is definitely encouraging that we were able to come back down 20 on the road.

Curious to hear thoughts on how SSS, Wallace, and Pitta match up against the Jags?

I think Wallace is going to have the best matchup. Hard to tell since the Jags have been having injury issues (Cyprien and Amukamara didn't practice yesterday), but Ramsey is more of a slot corner and he (as well as House) struggled on the outside against Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin in the loss. Pitta will have a rough match up against Telvin Smith if that's who covers him, I wouldn't think that the Jags would put Poz in coverage as much after last week. SSS is kinda a wild card, I've had a hard time getting a read on him so far. Perriman has a really good opportunity to just go off this weekend.

Appreciate the reply. With Wallace having a good start, hoping to see Wallace and perriman or even Moore on the outside a few times. Also think perriman contributes with a few key plays this week and we start to see SSS get back to his old form.

I see but agree with you that it is selective cause the same thing could be said about the Ravens 1st quarter offensive woes which is their typical pattern.

This offense has done nothing in my eyes as of yet to warrant my saying or in this case, typing the term "blow out" vs any Ravens opponents cause they just haven't proven that.

With as hot as Wallace and Pitta have been, I think the Jags key in on stopping them and makesomebody else beat them.  I see a big game for one of our other receivers...could be SSS, Perriman, Aiken, or even Moore.  I just have a feeling the Jags are going to make somebody else other than Wallace or Pitta beat them.

It's a good thing then that it was his prediction and not yours.

Bradley and staff are now playing for their jobs. And the team loves it's coach. This is a trap game. There on a skid and the staff has everything to lose.

A blow out to me is a game where the Ravens win without my heart blowing out! They win comfortably with the game out of reach for the Jags by the start of the 4th quarter. Does that answer satisfy your curiosity @Militant X 1

brandon linder is out vs us and thats a big deal. Hes been their best linesman. No excuse not to get a lot of pressure on bortles.

Man, their OL is going to be really banged-up when we play them. No reason we shouldn't get some serious pressure on Bortles this week.

-that's assuming Beachum and Linder are both out

That's the way I see it. SSS or perriman/moore will have a big day. Could even see Crock bustin out with a big game if they key in on pitta. ORRRR we could actually finally see the running game go off- esp considering I've heard the weather may be a little rough. Look out for somebody to seperate themselves from the pack. Would be interesting if they activated BUCK and he goes off for 125 + with a chip on his shoulder. Anything could happen really- this game is kind of unpredictable- and the result could be a big turning point in the season and decide which direction this team is going. 3-0 is ALOT different than 2-1 believe it or not.

Could be just as big of an issue for them as it is for us.

Agreed. Fortunately Joe has proven that he's one the best 'mudders' in the game and the Ravens historically have gotten it done, as well. Not sure about the Jags.

We actually played a horrible rain game vs Jax in 2011. I'm sure you remember it lol

Good point.

Jags got the win in 2011, but don't remember the rain. (Had to research) It's saying 60 degrees and no wind in 2011 game. We were 4-1 going into that game and just overlooked them. That's not going to be the narrative this season.

That said, there's still no doubt that Joe and Ravens team as a whole have been pretty solid during in-climate weather. That is what was meant 'historically' proven. Although the Jags have been around longer - they don't have that distinction, yet.
