Who Do You Think Is the Best Running Back Ever?

Payton definitely has an elite nickname, heh.

Not a bad choice for GOAT. Certainly in my top 3. To be considered GOAT at running back, you have to be able to do it all...run, catch, block. Just like LT, Payton could do all of that and even throw the ball too.

 

Let's expand on this question, if you don't mind, BmoreBird22. How about we list our top 3 RBs, in order?

Mine goes like this:

1. LT

2. Walter Payton

3. Marshall Faulk

For me, the top two is absolute; no questions. The third spot was just impossible to decide. Ask me again tomorrow and I'll probably say AP, Sanders or Dickerson. Talk about complete RBs, Faulk was just insane...he's also a former MVP, and I believe the only player in NFL history to post 1k yards rushing AND recieving in a season.

But he wasn't as dominant for as long as Dickerson or Sanders was, and as a pure runner, AP just might be the best combination of power, speed and agility the league has ever seen, outside of Bo Jackson.
