You gotta hit on your draft picks and you need to hit on a QB to make things turn around. A good QB on a rookie contract makes things a lot easier in terms of the cap. Many expected Bortles to take the next step in becoming a good QB and he has faltered this year and the team is built through it's passing game so that really kills them. They have also had a few other bad signings in free agency that has hurt as well

Yeah I think the Malik Jackson deal was a very bad one, and one that obviously didn't pan out. How is it the Broncos are 7-3 and pretty much on their way to the playoffs while Malik signed with Jacksonville who is now on one of the worst teams in the league.

I just wonder which Coordinators are going to get a chance to be a Head Coach next year(besides Josh McDaniels, that's obvious)?

How...just HOW? What does Fisher have on the Rams executives?

I can think of 7-9 reasons why they'd give him an extension.

So apparently he signed the extension in the offseason. Yet there are reports that he STILL may end up being fired.

So through 13 weeks, I want to get everyone's thoughts on what Black Monday may bring on Jan 2nd.

Hot Seat Watch:

- Gus Bradley: Jaguars haven't improved under him, they have good talent just don't have the coaching. Kinda like the 49ers before Jim Harbaugh.

- Chip Kelly: Does he go back to college or does he remain for another year while GM Trent Baalke gets the boot?

- Marvin Lewis: Will a non playoff season finally be the nail in the coffin regardless how well the team does down the stretch?

- Mike McCarthy: Barring a run to the NFC North Title overtaking the Lions, or a Wild Card berth, I don't see McCarthy staying next year.

- John Fox: With the Bears in rebuilding, they may decide to go with a younger HC to take on the rebuild project.

- Jeff Fisher: If he still going to be fired, then I think this is the year it finally happens. Though probably be the Rams luck they win out and he keeps his job.

- Todd Bowles: Does he get fired tomorrow after that blowout loss to the Colts?

I think Bradley, Lewis, McCarthy, Fox and Fisher will be the ones fired.

I must say, I don't think it's Mike McCoy's fault the Chargers failed to hold the lead in so many games. It would be best to keep him, extend him through 2019(give him a couple more years, put more talent on the team) and see what happens. Though the Chargers organization is not saying if McCoy's job is safe. They did extend his contract through 2017 back in January. GM Tom Telasco had this to say...

Quote

“It’s just not how it works. I’m not worried about next year right now. To be honest with you, I’m not worried about next week. I’m worried about this week and playing Carolina. We’ll worry about next year, next year. We’re 100 percent committed to this season. We only have 16 games to play, and we’ve got four games to go here, and that’s what we’re worried about. We’re not even looking toward 2017 yet.”

This is huge.... Jason La Canfora says Rex Ryan isn't expected to return to Buffalo in 2017 and could be fired as soon as tomorrow. Also Tyrod Taylor is in danger of losing the starting job as well.

Quote

It would take an overwhelming performance down the stretch for Ryan to be back in 2017, the sources said, and he could be out as soon as Monday, depending on the team's results against Pittsburgh.

Quarterback Tyrod Taylor is losing the support of the front office and could soon be benched as well.

Report: Rex Ryan could be fired on Monday

The Buffalo Bills could part ways with head coach Rex Ryan as early as Monday, according to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora.

If he's gone...This should put Pressure on Dean Pees. If Mr Pees wants to stay in Baltimore he better make the right calls at Foxboro. I really feel this is do or die for Ravens The Raiders nor the Broncos show no sign of choking. And you cant depend beating the Steelers in Pittsburgh nether. Tomorrow night is a must win for Ravens or if they fail make the playoffs Pees is gone and hire Rex Ryan for defensive cord.

This is so wrong on several levels. It's wrong in terms of relation to Deen Pees' status in Baltimore - it has no impact on it whatsoever. It's wrong factually as well because both Raiders and Broncos just lost their games (raiders to their division rivals, Broncos to the team that hadn't seen a plus season in ages). And yes, we can depend on beating Steelers in Pittsburgh, at least more than we can depend on beating NE in Foxborough.

But let see if Raiders and Broncos lose again. If Ravens lose tomorrow that will put them in the hunt group that means they need help for other teams to get them in playoffs. Ravens would not been in this situation if they won vs Skins or vs Raiders

You shouldn't have booed the team during the Washington game. Look at the position you've put us in.

Bam!!!

Rams fired HC Jeff Fisher, per @mortreport. Fisher tied a record Sunday with his 165th NFL head-coaching loss.

Rams were debating making a move on Jeff Fisher, decided today. One issue was short week, Thursday night game vs Seattle. But Fisher fired.

Rams still have not decided who will be interim head coach, not just yet.

Should've let him set the record at least

Maybe Jeff Fisher could replace Dean Pees

Lmao and Fisher will steal more money, just got a 2 year deal .

The absolute definition of mediocre. I am really angry though because he is tied for most losses with Dan Reeves, they couldn't have let him get one more loss?!!?!?

Rams fans everywhere will rejoice.... I imagine Les Snead will be fired on Black Monday and the Rams hire a New Head Coach and new GM. Time to start dusting off my GM resume that says I won Multiple Super Bowls in Madden.

Here's Rotoworld's commentary on Fisher. I know the writers have never been a fan of his, but this commentary seems awfully relentless:

Rams fired coach Jeff Fisher.

In a cruel, ironic twist for the NFL's pre-eminent loser, the firing comes four days before he was set to pass Dan Reeves for the most coaching losses in league history. Fisher is so inept he can't even claim the record that's been his to lose for over a decade. The firing is perhaps the most justified of the modern era. Fisher has had five years to turn around a laughingstock franchise, and proceeded to make it an even bigger joke. Fisher's team had truly made zero progress on his first year in 2012. A wanton waster of draft picks and capital, Fisher is clueless on Sundays, mismanaging the clock and overseeing a cavalcade of idiotic penalties. Fisher doesn't make adjustments, aside from usually dialing up more personal fouls in the second half. Try as he may, he never came close to "cleaning up" his chronic, myriad, inexcusable mistakes. No coach, in any sport anywhere in the world, makes more excuses. Fisher has almost certainly coached his final NFL game.

Ill bet y'all Rams will hire this guy

When they do im going to fall down and laugh

Most likely I think they go with a Offensive Head Coach to try to turn Goff around but it won't be Billick. I think they may go with a young coach, possibly Josh McDaniels.

i genuinely had started to wonder whether jeff fisher was unfirable

I think Marvin Lewis has now taken sole possession of the title "Unfireable" Head Coach

The way the Seahawks are playing and the way Jeff Fisher always preps the Rams to play the Seahawks... Rams would have won. So it would have delayed it by another week, which I don't think Rams fans could have took another week of Jeff Fisher.
