[News] Late For Work 9/16: Experts Overwhelmingly Agree On Ravens vs. Browns Predictions

30 posts in this topic

No signs of unhappiness among the Ravens’ deep receiving group. Injuries will force the Ravens to rely on a pair of rookie pass rushers. The Bills’ Thursday night game speaks volumes about the Ravens defense.

I am concerned that Z Smith may be out. That takes away another pass rusher. McCown > RGIII so I expect a better offensive effort from Browns. Their TE lit up the secondary last time so Ravens need to be prepared.

On offense, I expect them to blitz a lot. Until the Ravens prove the offense can consistently beat the blitz, every team will blitz. The key for Ravens is balance offense and no turnovers. Ravens win. Just too many weapons for Cleveland.

i'd rather have the RAVENS in a underdog role, they always play better,i'm scared they won't come out swinging.i'd also like to say every ravens/browns game was a unique game and victory.SSSR. is just like HIENZ WARD,he'll make catches, but he's also just as happy knockin someone SILLY blocking down field.i'm not really concerned bringing in rookies in the pass rush, they haven't really had DOOM in practice anyway and theres not a big dropoff in talent across the board on our roster.alot has to do with last years injury bug that forced guys to grow up in a hurry at many positions.JUDON will be an X factor all year.

I hope alot of RAVENS fans can make the trip to cleveland, that will help and i always wondered why RAVENS fans never picked up on having a PURPLE TERRIBLE TOWL of their own for home and away games,it helped tremendusly at the SKINS game for PITTSBURG. if someone was an ENTERPRIZING young person they could rake up selling purple bandanas outside the stadium and really help our fanbase when we do go on the road to games like at CLEVELAND.

We are only underdogs because we are hated, and i'm good with that....

It's better this way. More doubt the better we will be. Underdogs rule.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how Judon (and Correa) respond to extra playing time. Rookies will always make mistakes, but the really good ones also make great plays. Cleveland's O-line is not all that bad, and McCown plays us hard, so it will be a telling game to see how our young pass rushers responds to real game action. Hopefully come Monday we will be bragging about how great these guy's played...

"Their TE lit up the secondary last time so Ravens need to be prepared. "

That's because we had a S in Will Hill and a LB in Daryl Smith that couldn't cover any TE in this league. That changes with Weddle & Orr

Last week Flacco had one of the best comp% against the blitz, i think it was 75%, One thing that needs to happen is they need to cut down on the stupid penalties. I think both guards, both tackles and Steve Smith got flagged for false starts. And then we had an early snap from the center.

I agree the early snap from Zutta was unforgivable and as a veteran he should know better. the other penalties...well, it was the first game of the season, so i'll chalk that up to anxious players and the zebra's throwing flags that may not get thrown once the season settles in. Not to excuse stupid penalties, but they will only be a concern if they continue to generate them as we get deeper in the year. And mind you that we have two rookie starters on O-line, so penalties will occur until Stanley and Lewis learn what they can get away with and what they can't. There will be growing pains, but as long as they settle in i'll forgive them some mistakes.

Well not knocking the Browns, but as far a Z Smith being out and without Dummervil for the contest, I think it should be okay, not great or what I was hoping for but Matt Judon has shown the ability to make plays and get pressure on the QB. Gonna hope this becomes a bit of a coming out party for him. Also Albert McClellan is a solid player with plenty of experience. No need to panic, just get healthy fr the long run.

NFL.com's bold prediction is that Browns beat Ravens.....If I remember correctly the NFL.com analyst didn't think highly of the Ravens to start with, so why is this "BOLD" to them? Dream on NFL.com pundits with your wishfull thinking, Ravens are going to hammer them! Moving on. GO RAVENS! 25

We would just be accused of being copy cats.

It's mainly because of our missing pass rush that McCown hurt us so bad last season. If you give a guy 5 seconds to throw the ball, he's going to find someone open, and he's gonna look like a pro bowler at the end.

Jets put up 37 pts against Bills Defense we put up 13,,...Hope that doesn't say something about our Offense....

Our offense is still trying to gel together. Flacco, SSR, Pitta, Forsett all coming back from injury. Two of our other guys, Perriman, Wallace didn't even play with the team last year. Then you have Aiken who was our number one a year ago. It'll take some time.

... and don't forget the O line. 2 rookies manning the left side - that's also going to take a little time.

That's why I'm so glad our schedule is skewed to be a bit softer in the early going and get harder down the stretch. We hopefully continue to work to find a rhythm, while still managing to rack up Ws along the way. Mainly, that's going to take the defense playing basically sound ball.

So - some saying we need to blow them out to prove ourselves .. that would be nice, but I'm OK with just getting a win and making at least modest strides.

yeah,i know atleast JUDON played really good against the first string guys when HARBS played him,CORREA is the only ? mark, but PEES will use other packages with WEBBIE, he really did good with the blitz last game.

Our "offense" had 4 preseason games to "get it together" So, instead of an offensive explosion, we saw ONE, exactly ONE pass that made a difference. Other than that, the media hyped speedy WR offense did absolutely nothing all day. Did you catch the Steelers game? Even the Bengals, who almost lost. Both of them had "Offense". Based on what I saw against mighty Buffalo, the Ravens will be lucky to beat Cleveland, let alone Pittsburgh or Cincinnati. Just a pathetic offensive performance. How could anyone say otherwise?

Let's see. The "offense" as you call it, had less than one game to get ready as the QB was coming off surgery. SSS too. Wallace is new. New left side of offensive line. Is it too much to ask for "improvement" each week? For the most part, Cincy and Pitt have been playing together for years. I will choose to wait a few games before jumping off the cliff, but be my guest Fastynart, leap.
