[News] Late For Work 9/16: Experts Overwhelming Agree On Ravens vs. Browns Predictions

34 posts in this topic

No signs of unhappiness among the Ravens’ deep receiving group. Injuries will force the Ravens to rely on a pair of rookie pass rushers. The Bills’ Thursday night game speaks volumes about the Ravens defense.

I have to take exception to this headline: "Injuries Force Ravens To Rely On Pair Of Rookie Pass Rushers." It scared me, and my first thought was that Suggs was injured again. With Suggs and McClellan starting, I don't think it is correct to say that we're "relying" on rookies. Rather it should say that our rookies will get some opportunities.

Can't wait to see Judon and Correa get after McCown. Though the Ravens are overwhelmingly favored, the question to be answered is can they meet expectations and dominate Cleveland?

Agree about WR ...and that locker room reporter maybe 'expected' there to be some kind of unhappiness amoung receivers...just because it's something in NFL in general on teams. But I've seen no evidence of it either. These guys seem more interested to develop 'as an O' their plays, change things up in who they throw to, and Flacco imo will make the effort to circulate the ball to every guy who gets open. That's just how these personalities here mesh.

We are the Ravens, always has been about the team, and next man up....No selfish players who complain, as Harbs doesn't tolerate it.....Even Reed and RL52 and now Suggs is continuing the team first mentality to the new and young players....Weddle is another great leader in team first and foremost....

Exactly!  Prior to Doom's injury, the plan all along was to have McClellan in on running downs w/ Doom coming in to rush the passer.  The same role Doom had before Suggs went down last year.  McClellan will still play on running downs, with rookies probably getting more snaps to rush the passer.  Wondering if this will open a window for Correa to get in some reps on the outside.

It's very important to win this game so it can allow us to gain confidence. If the Ravens can start the season 5-0, l guarantee a playoff berth. ?

If we start 5-0 all of America will guarantee a playoff birth lol

Lets just get to 2-0 and move on from there.  Remember what happened last time we looked ahead of the Browns?

Really goin' out on a limb there, huh. The ravens will NOT go 5-0. I'd be ECSTATIC at 2-0, but with McCown in there, I have my doubts.

Game 2 after winning game 1 has always been the Ravens Achilles heel (sorry SSS and Sizzle) and we need to turn that trend around. IMO, it is time to send a message to other teams on offense. We have a QB who can perform to that level (although his norm is inconsistency), we have the backfield to get it done, we have the Tight Ends to get it done and we have the Wide Receivers to get it done. If we can get Joe to have a couple back to back games where he doesn't throw a pick and can put some points on the board, the media and other teams will soon start to take notice. The defense is starting to get their due now after some re-tooling and it is high time the offense starting producing and getting the same recognition. Granted, it is great to fly under the radar early in the season but we have to put a stomping on to Cleveland and lets take control of this season. Just like Joe said, it would be nice to go in at half time with a three TD lead and "there ain't nothing to it but to do it." We have the talent, lets get it done.

They have a shot. If they win this game and squeeze a win vs Jaguars, l can see a 5-0 start. You really scared of McCown because of last year huh. I think we gonna contain him. He won't be getting 400+ yards this time. This is a much improved defense. The defense will do there job; the offense gotta score points and l'm confident they will do well. Be confident.

We should be insulted 6 people picked the Browns to beat us. I hope they are make a statement. You know the Jags will be favorites since everyone's so in love with them and Bortles.

Exactly one game at a time. Just given points of what could happen that would give us a better position to ourselves. I'm definitely not underestimate the Browns though.

I really hope we are able to put this game away early. We cannot afford to have long drives that end up in no points or only a FG. We also cannot rely on penalties for us to continue our drives - when we play against better teams that isn't going to end up with us winning games.

Our offense should be able to light up the Browns. If they don't, I'm going to be very concerned once our schedule actually gets hard.

They should be the favorites. They're at home, and they looked more impressive than us both last season and this season.

We feed on being underdogs anyway. The more people that doubt us the better we are. So it's fine.

100% agree. The Jags are an up and coming team - would not be surprised to see them give in the hunt for the #1 spot in the AFC South.

As for how this team starts - I don't care if we go 5 - 0 to start the season. The real test will be down the stretch in November and December when we face the toughest opponents of the season.

I also wouldn't say they look more impressive than us this season. They got destroy vs the Eagles last week. The Ravens were much better the first week in my opinion.

rmc is saying that the Jags should be favorites over us in our matchup in a few weeks.

I'm talking about the Jags, not the Browns. Not sure what that Eagles reference was about.

The Jags were better than us last season, and through the first week of this season, they've been more impressive than we have. Add those things + they are at home = obvious favorites in next weeks game.

Hmmm.... never heard of it. I have search it up just now and the movie was made in 1998 and one of the actors that l like that's in the film is Jamie Lee Curtis. It's seems like a good movie because the rating is high according to IMDb. I would give it a try. ?

The Jags always give us fits. Plus they're slowly building a nice competitive team.  They're my pick to win the AFC South.

It doesn't matter if they win every game till we play them. We have revenge on our side!

Yeah that revenge thing hasn't worked out to well for us vs the Bengals.  In case you missed it, they beat us 5 straight.

While true we really did beat them last year, in our worst season in 8 years, the refs literally cost us the game.

Well, sort of. There's plenty of other reasons we lost that game, including Dumervil's bonehead penalty.

Regardless, they were still better than us last season and look that way so far. Its on us to prove them wrong.
