2016 Week 2 Other Teams Discussion

We are over simplifying this. Its also about how teams match up against each other too and the game plan. So, its hard to say really.

Not oversimplifying anything just keeping it simple Elli!  Here's what I mean; the Ravens are at home against these Bills.  They barely put up 13 points against them offensively and yet, the Jets go into Buffalo (on the road and on Thursday night) and their offense puts up 30 pts on them so far.  Now, which team is the better out of the Ravens and Jets to you?

Seems like we had a vastly different gameplan than the Jets. I think we had way too many short throws trying to rely on YAC against a pretty good tackling defense. I hope once Joe gets a little more comfortable we start going deep a lot more.

Give it time, Mili. Give it time. Week by week basis. Remember, our offense in 2014 got off to a slow start as well and we know how they finished.

As of now it looks like chip Kelly was right when he traded mccoy, with the exception of one long run he hasn't looked good

nah, he got tackled behind line so many times. that jets dline is very good. mccoy has looked very quick and shifty this year imo.

I feel all of that Dom my man!  However, my question is; what IF (not saying that it will) the Ravens offense sputters, stalls and starts slow again on Sunday versus the Browns?  Then what will the "excuse" for that be being that it is a 2nd week in a row?  Just curious!

He didn't look good against Baltimore either

There shouldn't be any excuse. You know why? Because I fully expect them to sputter again. I'm giving it a few weeks until I really hit that panic button.

i don't know man. i think our game plan was to contain the qb which helped stop the run because we weren't trying to sack as much so not much penetration inside and besides, baltimore has always been a good run stopping team

Gotcha!  I'm not in panic mode though cause their offensive game play is all too familiar to me as you have mentioned...that is why I think like I do.  Been there done that and seen that before!

Week-by-week, team-to-team football math doesn't really work. By that same logic you could say our defense allowed far less yds and points so we have a better defense. It's different game plans, match ups, and overall circumstances having made adjustments from week 1.

Week 1 games are typically pretty cagey, penalty filled, and sloppy. Plus our full offensive unit (Flacco, SSS, Perriman, Pitta) didn't play a single snap together in the preseason, not to mention it was Joe's first real game since the ACL.

We have so many weapons it's hard to imagine the offense not having a big year. Browns/Jags games are a perfect opportunity to let loose on offense and really figure out our identity on that side of the ball.
