2016 Week 2 Other Teams Discussion

452 posts in this topic

Here we go folks... Week 2 of the NFL Season is here!

NFL WEEK 2 LINEUP

Jets @ Bills: Nobody in the AFC East is ready to dethrone the Patriots and the question here is who wants to win more? Ryan Fitzpatrick gave away the game against the Bengals, while the Bills struggled against Baltimore. I think the Jets get the win here but not by much.

49ers @ Panthers: 49ers looked good... against Case Keenum. It will be a different story against the Carolina Panthers. Panthers bounce back at home against a bad 49ers team while the 49ers get set back down to earth.

Cowboys @ Redskins: After the Steelers ran over them with Williams, I imagine Elliott could have a breakout game here against the same defense. Redskins had no defense and no answer to the Steelers offense, unless Terrance Williams doesn't run out of bounds, Dez doesn't catch it, Cowboys get a win.

Bengals @ Steelers: This game is going to go to the Steelers, Bengals barely survied against a Ryan Fitzpatrick team. Steelers win and improve to 2-0 while Bengals lose one in the division.

Saints @ Giants: Last year these two teams engaged in a shootout that saw the Saints win 52-49 over the Giants. The $200M improvement to the defense didn't look impressive against the Cowboys who should have won if not for Terrance Williams. The Saints defense proved to still be garbage as they loss the shootout to the Raiders.

Dolphins @ Patriots: If we need any further proof nobody is ready to dethrone the Patriots, it will be the fact they will be 2-0 after Sunday without Brady. Dolphins may be able to contain Jimmy and the offense but as we saw in Seattle they caved when it mattered most and lost. Expect Patriots to roll once again without Brady.

Chiefs @ Texans: The Texans were able to stop the Bears but will they be able to keep the Chiefs down? The Chiefs were down and out against the Chargers but they battled back to win in OT. Should be a good game and a good test for Alex Smith and co against a Texans defense that kept getting to Cutler.

Titans @ Lions: The Lions won a shootout with the Colts and Matthew Stafford showed he doesn't need Calvin Johnson. The Colts defense was horrible as usual and the Titans defense is about the same so expect the Lions to start the year off 2-0 taking advantage of playing the AFC South.

Seahawks @ Rams: Seahawks should be able to win this if the Rams are going to play like they did on Monday Night. Though, each year Jeff Fisher gets the Rams ready to win against the Seahawks. Not this time, Seahawks blow them out and Rams suffer 2 straight blowout losses.

Buccaneers @ Cardinals: Wanna be dangerous in week 2? Take Tampa as the upset pick over Arizona. Though while I think Arizona will bounce back, Winston did throw 4 TDs last week against Atlanta while Jimmy G had no problem going down field on Arizona's Defense. Can Jameis do the same as Jimmy and shred the Cardinals for another 4 TD game?

Jaguars @ Chargers: The Jaguars showed they can hang tough in the loss to the Packers, can they notch that first win this week? Chargers are now without star WR Keenan Allen which will make their offense lead more on Melvin Gordon the rest of the season.

Falcons @ Raiders: Atlanta has seemingly fallen off as much as Matt Ryan has declined in recent years. Their offense didn't do much until garbage time and their defense couldn't stop Jameis Winston, much like how the Saints defense couldn't stop Derek Carr from completing a comeback. Same result here?

Colts @ Broncos: Same old Colts, same old Colts. Andrew Luck had to score every point possible to make up for the fact the defense can't stop anyone. This week I imagine Trevor may be able to break out against a very bad Colts defense but will Luck be able to breakthrough the Broncos defense?

Packers @ Vikings: Vikings open up their new stadoum against NFC North rivals Green Bay Packers. Sam Bradford has taken the first team snaps in practice so expect him to start. If the Vikings defense can get turnovers against Aaron Rodgers we might have to take their defense more seriously. Game one to decide who wins the NFC North.

Eagles @ Bears: The Bears home opener on Monday Night Football is against Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles. This game should give us more of an idea of who the Eagles really are as the Bears are not the Browns. Bears look to bounce back against the Eagles.

Alright so who wins the Rex Ryan bowl and improves to 1-1 while the other falls to 0-2 and only has a 12% chance of making the playoffs. I think Jets win as the Bills lose another close one.

Jets 20

Bills 13

As much as I want Tyrod to win, the Jets somehow are much better team after Rex left......

Move over Cleveland the Rams are coming for your "Most Dysfunctional team" Championship. At first I thought this was a joke but it is being reported Jeff Fisher and Les Snead are getting another extension.

How... Why... Why!!!!

They must be drinking and golfing buddies with Kroenke. I know we suck but we still got each other.

Hopefully the Bills offense comes out strong. That could help us figure out if our defense was legitimately that good last week against them or if it was just them sucking on offense.

Precisely what I am looking for. But, Rex has repeatedly stated since our game that the Jets are a better team. I guess it was as much to downplay expectations than to malign our team.

Special teams is perplexing to me this year.  It seems pretty obvious to me - if the ball is kicked into the end zone you 100% take the touchback (unless you're down a ton and want to roll the dice).  If its pooch kicked, obviously you're going to be running for it.

25 yard line is a very good place to start a drive IMO.

It was probably a combination. You can't criticize a defense when it allows only one score, but we have seen most of that secondary before, and they aren't exactly world beaters.

I'm interested to see how Tyrod performs this year now that he can't take the league by surprise anymore.

This may be excessively negative, but I really have doubts about Rex Ryan as a HC combined with a quarterback drafted  by the Ravens.

Edit: Well, it's still early, but I might have to eat my words.
