[News] Ravens Waive Injured Wide Receiver Michael Campanaro With Settlement

15 posts in this topic

This is a shame but it is long overdue. The Ravens stuck with Campanero through his variety of injuries, but finally decided they could wait no longer. There are too many other options and correctly, the Ravens chose to use them.

I like Campanaro, but he is hurt a lot. He can't help us on the side lines. But I agree with the Greek about the Patriots signing him...he reminds me of a young Wes Welker!

Must be so frustrating to have the skill to play this game, but to have injuries prevent you from being on the field. I feel for ya Camp. Hope everything works out for you in the end.

The guy has talent there's no denying that but only playing 8 games in 3 years ain't gonna cut it. The one thing I'm afraid of is the minute we let him go, he'll have a non-injury riddled career and shines with someone else. I just wanna see him win especially being a local guy.

Check me out on my logic here. If we kept Camp on IR we would have to use up the one IR return allowed later in the year when he's healthy. But if we waive him like we did we could resign him later in the year and not give up that one IR return we are allowed.

Correct.

Your logic is correct.  However, he's a free agent and he could sign with anyone.  Especially a team that has less depth at the WR.

Nice positive spin there. I hope the settlement was generous enough that he'd actually wait on us to bring him back. I really liked camp. A lot and a part of me hoped we'd stack him on IR till next year and work 100 percent strength and injury prevention till that time.
