[News] What You Missed vs. Buffalo Bills

I noticed on Webb's blitz that after Taylor was forced to run to his right, Mosley and Jernigan chased Taylor directly while Webb and Z Smith seemed to run to a spot to possibly intercept Taylor if he was able to turn up field! Good instincts and good communication!

Without SSS drawing that safety help towards him, that Wallace play never happens. Also, without Orr not blitzing when Jernigan was double teamed, and for some strange reason both guard and center release Jernigan for a free trip to the QB. The center released to block Orr on a blitz, but why did the LG release Jernigan to go help his LT who was doing fine beats me.

Cannot double team everyone. Either they double SSSr or Wallace. One of the two is open for a big gain either way.

On a 3 WR formation, as Perriman gets more play time and confidence they'll really have to pick their poison.

Notice on the Wallace TD freeze, the Ravens have kept in 2 eligibles to block (3 man pattern), but the Bills rushed just 3.

The Bills are left with 4 covering 0 underneath.

As I scored it, the Bills were able to generate pressure 5 of the 8 times they rushed only 3. It's a good thing this wasn't one of them!

Lets go 4 wide, Perriman,Wallace,SSS,Aiken, Sprinkle in some Moore.....Come get some....:)

seriously though! And honestly I think everyone is gonna soon find out that Moore has just as much to offer as the other 4. Right now. Throw Moore on the field with Smitty, Perriman, and Wallace....and he's getting single coverage every single time. All 4 of these guys will own single coverage. For Perriman's first NFL throw he beat one of the very best corners in the game for 40 yards or something. I say by mid our offense will be looking really nice...O line needs some time to gel, some time to work the new/coming back wrs, add Waller, Pitta is back, and then maybe one of the best things of all. Kenneth Dixon. It's a long season but I'm ready for some december and January ball. And of course, hopefully February.

The way they both just let Jernigan go free, it almost seemed like they thought it was a screen lol.

I love replays like the TD pass to Wallace when you can see the entire field and the play unfolds, downfield.

I wish they showed some of those sacks against us like this, so I can see if the WRs were just covered or if protection broke down to soon.

I'm still wondering what made them double down on Smith instead of Wallace which is the bigger threat out of the 2 but Joe audibled to that and made them pay for their mistake.

I love those replays too. It was interesting to see how they just had 4 LBs just standing there with nobody to cover after Joe made a genuis audible at the line-it was originally gonna be a run. YES Flacco.
Also, this is off topic but I'll lose my mind if we don't resign BWILL this season or in the offseason. He helps us keep our identity. People would run all over us without BWILL. Not to mention he also gets pressure and a couple sacks on qbs @340+ pounds. The man is invaluable to this team. And ravens football. And the people that feel differently might say he's just a NT that doesn't get sacks. We can just draft another and spend the money elsewhere. I disagree. I honestly think he is THE best true NT in the game. And we wouldn't play RAVENS football without him. And he seems like an awesome, humble, and high character guy. The only way I could justify not resigning him would be, if he demanded 8-9+/year. And in that case we better spend that money on a top flight corner or center.
Again, sorry bout the off topic, but I just think BWILL is one of the 5 most important players on our team. And I really hope we don't lose him. Yanda and BWILL were hands down the best 3rd round picks ever by this organization. I was starting to lose faith in our drafting after these past few years, until I saw and studied the the 6 picks in the 4th and 5th round this year. I truly believe all 6 of those players will be starters next year. Sorry for the rambling. I'm just so passionate about my ravens. And especially excited for our loaded team this year. TOUCHDOOOWWWWNN RRAAAAAAAAVVVEENNSS!

I think that is a key takeaway from this clip. It was Timmy - not Sizzle - that drew the double team from the snap. Hopefully that's saying something about Timmy and not about Sizzle. It is good to see that Timmy is getting that kind of attention ... because if Sizzle gets going to even near his old self, that's not going to work well for our opponents.

I've said it a lot over the preseason ... there are a few key guys that I think really need to show us something this year and one of them is Timmy. I think he had a nice game ... so far, so good

I think Michael Pierce as he gets familiar with our scheme will warrant a double team as well. So, the future looks really bright for our D.

The answer is in the article: respect. I don't think many DC's dare to leave Smith one-on-one if they can help it...

The only thing i missed was Perriman in the second half. Is he hurt? Out celebrating his one catch? What? I like SSS but like Brian Billick said about Detroit. Best thing that happen is Megatron retired now the QB Stafford is forced to spread it around. Stop over using SSS.

Yeah I was hoping they could have extended him last year, so he wouldn't get priced out if he hits the market or makes the Pro Bowl. I understand they were hoping to lock up Osemele, and get the Flacco deal fixed up so they held off on B.Williams contract.  I just hope we don't lose him, I'd image his agent is trying to get him more than Snacks Harrison deal 5yr 46M w/ 8M signing bonus, I'm not sure what the front office can swing there.

On Perriman ... Please. All things considered, just happy he got in the game and made a play. Hoping we see his role increase.

On overusing SSS ... didn't Joe complete passes to 10 different players? Sure, SSS lead the team in targets, but that's spreading the ball around pretty good. I think as Joe continues the build more a rapport with Wallace and as Perriman and Moore start to get more experience and more comfortable playing in this league, the trend of spreading the ball around will continue.

Webb to safety blitzing was a good move, will prove useful to see more of him in this capacity. Have seen before his instincts come into play, good call on utilizing him.
