[News] Eisenberg: Ravens Flying Under National Radar, And That's A Good Thing

Having watched the Ravens since their first season, I believe that this is the strongest, most balanced team they have ever fielded. If they can avoid significant injuries I see them competing for a first round bye.

first off,I've watched NFL TOTAL ACCESS for years and we get mentioned about twice a season, the SKINS and BROWNS,about twice a show.secondly, why were we told how well our offensive players were doing and WATCH OUT! for our new DYNAMIC,QUICK passing game, were they mistaken and really were watching PITTSBURG? FLACCO played slow and indisisive as you'd think WENTZ would of.FLACCO showed every reason why fans have been frustrated for many years, including the SUPERBOWL run where other than a few games he didn't play all that well, again it was mostly our defense that carried us.then a guy comes in like JOSH JOHNSON,quick, decisive and accurate, yeah against second team players, but not always, remember? the traits listed above carried over every snap,of course he's gone and were left with two of the same QB.'S to me FLACCO was only great when they just let him manage games, like a ALEX SMITH type, left on his own he's indicisive and a mediocre mid of the pack qb.as the numbers show,ELITE? never,I know all the fans are wrong and the RAVENS are always right.i don't see where he's elite enough to make up for a now less than all pro offensive line we gambled away.i often wondered if we took a chance on BREES when few teams wouldn't on his shoulder where we'd be the last few years.yes,i'm old and grumpy, mabey i don't have the time to wait around to see the improvment thats always promised, buts always the same, mediocre QB. play.

Sorry your frustrated...Maybe you should be an Eagles or Browns or Bengals fan, cause they know REAL frustration. The Raven's, on the other hand, have won TWO Super Bowls in the last fifteen years. And yes, that horrible QB named Flacco was the MVP of one of them. And i'm sure your right that Johnson, who has been a journyman QB that has a down right deplorable record as a starting QB in the league would be a stud if he was the Raven's QB. I'm also positive that if Flacco was to all of a sudden be on the market, all the other teams would pass on him as a "mediocre" QB ( I can think of at least twenty teams that would make him the richest player in the league if he'd sign with them)...and as far as Brees, he's got the same amount of rings as Flacco and not nearly as many play-off wins, so why do you think he would have done any better, other than maybe have better regular season stats, if he was with the Raven's?

your right,i wish i was as optimistic as you and others, you all make great points.

Joe is always going to be Joe. Not Elite but not too bad. I do get frustrated sometimes with his low throws and indecision when the pocket starts to collapse because there's times when he just throws it away (Like I think he should) and others when he stands there and takes a sack however, we do have a lot of talent on this team this year and I believe that we'll do a heck of a lot better than 5-11. We'll see once we play a couple good teams and how we respond to better players. Our D line just smothered the RB on many occasions Sunday and that gives me hope for the season. When we get that kind of penetration, it puts luck on your side a lot more.
We have a softer schedule in the 1st half so that bodes well for our guys to grow so we should have a good idea by the Bye week on whether we should be able to hang with the big dogs. It's the 2nd half that our guys are going to have to dig a bit more and I think they will.
GO RAVENS!

RAVENS fans really are smart and the best fans around, everyone makes good points.

Ravens play the Browns, Jaguars, then the Raiders. We lost to all 3 of them last season. If we can right those wrongs and be 4-0 only then will we become a blip on someones radar. Until then, I'm happy to let last years IR players get back into game shape.

This game was good in that we won. A win is a win in this league, we learned that last year.
But I'm left wondering if we will be a playoff team. The only real things that were established were 1) Wright is a pretty good starting corner 2) Wallace will add some spark to the offense and 3) the front seven is just as tough as was expected.
The offensive line clearly needs to play better for the offense to reach it's potential. Trestman needs to call a better game....he was lackluster at best.
One thing that will hopefully become a trend is that Pees will continue to call an aggressive game now that he has the talent to do so. The third down pressure the Raven's applied was good to see.
I don't look forward to the Raven's trying to eke out a win in Cleveland but will be happy if they do.

It would be nice for the spotlight to find us if it can ever get away from shining bright on NE, PIttsburgh, Seattle and GB for no reason at all.

I like and I think the Ravens like being the underdogs. Gives us a chip on our shoulder not mention it makes beating those "spotlight" teams that much sweeter. If we play 18 or 19 games this season. I don't care/almost prefer that we aren't favored for a single one....just as long as Joe is hosting the trophy at the end

I agree so much. We've never had an offense like this. Dixon is going to turn heads as well. After everyone's starting to get used to eachother, and we marcha 4 wide out set with Smitty, Perriman, Wallace, and Moore, with Dixon in the backfield........ummm yeah. Good luck opposing D! I love the Judon addition and Weddle is one of my favorite players of all time. I believe the softer part of our schedule is the first half, which is a thing of beauty. I can't wait to play Brady twice this year. Hopefully the second time is in Baltimore. Either way, we'll be more than ready!

Being the underdog makes the win taste sweeter. Being the favorite feels gimmickey and commercialized. And while it's fun to be in spotlight, it's more fun to p'off the team in spotlight by beating them....bahahahaha.

I agree with you. I kept wondering the whole game why we weren't taking any deep shots down the field. With Perriman and Wallace, we should be stretching the field, leaving Smith Sr to cross the middle.

Have to confess, I am still a nervous wreck every time I see #88 on the field. I think it will take three or four games before I stop worrying about him. He played a good game on Sunday, and I really have high hopes, when I am not fearing that he's going to end up with a career-ender.

I agree 100% with you, I still am fearing the worst...I mean, he's been cleared to play by a plethora of doctors, so he can't be that fragile, but until he gets a couple of games under his belt I worry about him...but it IS really nice to see him back out there...he can definitely be a game changer.

The majority of the things you have said here are pretty outlandish. So outlandish in fact that I am leaning toward the fact that this is a rouse, just intended to stir the pot. In the event that you are this out of touch with reality I will try to clear a few things up for you. I don't have time to comment on all of the silly things you have said but I do think you need to realize that we have only played one game this year. No one judges a team on the first games of the year, but you seem to be ready to throw in the towel. And JOSH JOHNSON?? I am sorry that NFL TOTAL ACCESS has not informed you that he has been in the league for EIGHT YEARS. During those EIGHT YEARS he has started FIVE games. None of his starts have come in the last FIVE YEARS. He is currently the number THREE quarterback for the Giants and in all likelihood he will NOT see the field or the entire year. Has every single team in the NFL been wrong about his talent level?? Last thing... If you were upset about our Superbowl year, I don't think you will ever be content with anything the Ravens Do.
