Wallace is Pure Flash!

73 posts in this topic

Wallace is the Craven Raven!  He brings sharp quickness and speed to patterns down field.  His favorite place is in the end zone.  Get the football to Wallace in motion and great things will happen.  Wallace is pure flash, no one defender can stay with him.  This is only the beginning - Wallace is hungry for the football - feed him!

his struggles in the past few years has always confused me. He's always been a  better version of torrey smith.

I think his struggles was largely due to being in offenses that didn't play to his strengths.

Everyone with an ounce of common football knowledge knew this too...

Yes I am blasting those who assumed he suddenly lost all of his talent in one off-season a few years back.

Sigh. That's what happens when you play with noodle armed QBs.

usually where the money is isn't necessarily where the talent you need around you is as an individual player. he went to Miami for the money (like anyone of us would) but there QB does not have the arm to play to Mike's strength. Then he goes to the Vikings to another QB who can not get the ball where it needs to be.

Flacco obviously can, not a knock on the other 2 Qb's

Wholeheartedly agree! This guy is playing like a man possessed. He is out to prove the critics wrong. He has been rejuvenated in Baltimore. Can't wait to see him play against his old Steeler buddies. Wallace, Weddle and Watson were great offseason FA signings. Maybe Oz is still a wizard after all. As the season progresses, he will just get better and better with more reps with Joe.

Shows how fast he is when he lost a step and is still the fastest man on the field. I used to go on youtube and say Torrey was just as fast but deep down I knew he wasnt lol.

I can point out why he's struggled...that is an easy one

Wallace is prime time at home - Joe must find him 15-20 yards down the field and let Wallace do his thing.  Expect other receivers to pop open if Wallace is double teamed.  It is time for the other Raven receivers shift gears and get deep into Oakland's secondary.  Joe has the cannon, but will the line give him time?  The Raiders will be a good test for the down field game - it is time to let these Ravens fly!

Thats why someone should get that Steeler playbook and use it on Ravens offense so it would be easier for Wallace.

Or you know get a solid run game and threats underneath so defenses can't get away with playing cover 3 all game long and holding us really well like last week. Honestly if we get Dixon or West going to at least get 4 yards a carry and stick to running the ball more consistently that would open so much up in the intermediate and long passes for receivers.

bingo!...our opponent didn't respect our running game so they will sit on deep route all game long...we need to smack them in the gut then send home with home run shots....

Wallace: suggest simply handing the football to the referee on future touch-downs for which you will have plenty.  Good luck.

That was a bad penalty, but I'll take the good with the bad with this guy. He actually reminds me a lot of SSS with his fire and passion and work ethic. And the guy is fearless over the middle, too. I was shaking my head with his signing before the season started, but I couldn't be happier with him. He's quickly turning into one of my favorite players.

Spiking the ball? Taunting really?

taunting is when it is really in your face, I don' t think that was worth it. But that penalty gave them great position, I think that won them the game, among other things.

if you hand the ball to the ref you will not get a penalty.  we gave them 15 yards right there.  i get you are pumped but for crying out loud you know these refs and how unpredictable they are.  just hand the ball to the ref.

do they get a TD w/o the penalty,  who knows.  shareece wright continues to get picked on.  he got burnt yet again.  he is a problem

What Wallace did was probably textbook taunting. I mean, I can't defend what he did.

Quote

What is Taunting?

This is a penalty in the NFL, much to the chagrin of many fans.  It is a usually a subjective call made by the officials, and is called when one player stands over the opposition while the opposition is on the ground, spikes the ball aggressively in the direction of the opposition, or performs any other act that could be seen to provoke the other team unnecessarily.  This is a serious penalty and results in a 15-yard assessment on the offending team

Pretty much exactly what Wallace did. Almost like he read the rulebook before he did it, lol.

Our offense currently doesn't play to anyone's strengths.

Wallace is better than Julio Jones, but Jones has adequate time to make his break in patterns.  The Falcons' O-line is giving Matt Ryan time to throw darts.  To maximize Wallace's potential, the Ravens must fix their offensive blocking schemes and have two backs in the backfield to block for Joe.  When the Ravens block, Joe throws, and Wallace flies!

Wallace comes to a team with the right kind of QB for him, only to have that team's play caller try to make it a dink and dunk offense.

I wish that was true. Come on you really think Mike Wallace is better than Julio Jones?

To be honest I think Julio Jones is the best wide receiver in the league. That was before his 300 yard game. I mean if Julio was in Detroit where Calvin Johnson put up his huge numbers when they made Stafford throw 50-60 times a game think of how many yards Julio would have. His explosiveness and speed is incredible and he is 6'3. I think Julio may eclipse 2000 yards this season and I think he has the best shot at doing so.

On our (failed) final drive on Sunday, Wallace was actually open on a slant on the play Joe almost threw his interception. He probably would've run into field goal range from the YAC, too. ... Too bad our line sucked so hard Joe had someone in his face 3 seconds after he snapped the ball...
