Forsett 4.1 per carry, now thats what i'm talking about....He still has that burst, and West is very shifty, and can run with power as well....Once Dixon gets into the mix, we will be even better.....O-Line gets somewhat of a pass, as it was very evident Flacco wasn't mobile yesterday, hopefully as the season goes on, he will be able to roll out of trouble, but as expected he also has to shake of some rust, and trust the knee...Glad we have a grass field as turf can be heck on knees.....

O line will improve as Flacco gets rid of the ball sooner. I want to see Trestman smacking Joe upside the back of the head (wearing a helmet) every time he holds onto the ball longer than 3 seconds in practice. Not to injure but to really go "HEY YOUR MOST LIKELY GETTING SMACKED AROUND NOW." Joe is tough but no need to take those extra hits, they pile up over the course of a long season and hopefully playoffs. I really enjoyed seeing the ball spread around so much. It will make game planning against the Ravens very difficult when there is no single WR to double or plan against.

If you want your speed receivers running deeper routes, he's going to have to hold onto the ball a bit longer than you saw last season.

Otherwise, you're not really maximizing the skills of the players you brought in for that role.

RR got a raw deal, especially if the league allowed Hardy to play, and Josh Brown got 1 gamer...He did everything, before the courts or league imposed his punishment, and has continued counseling, and has done everything right. He won't get a chance with us, only because we have moved on, but i hope a team that needs help will give him a shot....

1. The league suspended Hardy for 19 games.
2. Obviously there's a gigantic difference between what Ray Rice did and what Josh Brown was accused of doing.

Hope Rice gets a chance to play, and comes back to beat the Ravens. I've never seen an organization of any kind throw a loyal employee under the bus like the Ravens did to Rice. That national broadcast, party like atmosphere at Ray Rice jersey exchange day was embarrassing. I didn't see the Patriots do anything with Hernandez' jersey. I guess the Ravens had to cave to the ESPN's and CNN's of the world though.

Please, not more of this again...if he get's another chance to play again, that's great to hear...but it doesn't change the fact he's a woman beater who repeatedly lied to the Raven's organization and the league front office...people just need to admit Rice threw HIMSELF under that bus.

Wrong.

Glad you look the other way at domestic violence and lying to your employers...Personally, I think he SHOULD get another chance to play in the NFL, providing he still CAN play. But i'll never bury my head in the sand and deny any and all the facts in his case. He's guilty - he's served his penance - he should be allowed to play football, if any team wants to deal with the backlash. He's admitted he did wrong - I don't know why some fan's can't accept that, when he has.

Back to real football (hopefully), I was really happy to see the secondary exceed my expectations...to all those Jimmy Smith detractors out there, remember that he was in single coverage on Watkins, a true #1 receiver, and held him to under 50 yards and no TD's. Wright looked great, hope he can keep going like that. Putting together the end of last season with his first game, it looks like he means to earn the contract the Raven's gave him in the off-season. Weddle seems to add great veteran leadership and experience, while Webb played with good enthusiasim. If they keep playing like they did this first game, i'm expecting not only a better turnover ratio than last year, but more pressure and sacks from our pass rushers. Great job guys!!!

JOE FLACCO is as slow as an ICE BERG! if the offensive staff can't make ajustments with this talent, wer'e in trouble against any team that can score over 14 points and FLACCO better be tougher than a $1 steak!

Man I hate PFF grades. First, I love Marshal Yanda, However, he committed 2 penalties and allowed a big hit on Joe. They praise Joe for his triumphant return and solid play. Yet Yanda is ranked higher than Joe (83.5% to 80.7%) and Ronnie Stanley is not even on the top 5 list. If Stanley didn't make it and Yanda did then PFF's grading needs work.

A "grain of salt" comes to mind.

Too right mcjacket23! It's not standing for DV to say that Rice got rail roaded and treated unequally to others before and since. The NFL violated it's own policy after the 2nd Rice video came out which it had created after the first one. Rice should've been punished, but with the other players in the same boat (sans videos) who were allowed to play afterward it was an unequal treatment. Especially since he was the ONLY player that made owned and made amends for his actions. It's the NFL attempting to cover up its mishandling of the situation.

Rice deserves another chance. The habit of continuing to punish people long after they've paid their debt is utter garbage.

Will you give it a rest. This offense needs time to gel and many players are just now coming back from injuries. Be happy we won. This is a young season and there are 15 games to go.

Actually, I was saying the exact opposite. Hardy was punished far worse by the NFL than Rice does, since Hardy's suspension was significantly longer.

Its not the NFL's fault that no team wants Ray Rice, nor is it their fault that Hardy was a dominant pass rusher while Rice was a declining RB. Plus, he was also compensated for the fact that the NFL suspended him twice.

The wrongness is in your recollection of the "facts" not in your opinions. You are entitled to your own opinions but not to your own facts, as Senator Patrick Moynihan once said.

The bolded statement is the only thing that matters. Clearly, no NFL thinks that Rice's value to their team would exceed the backlash they'd face for signing him.

Why people get upset with employers over this I'll never understand.

Quite literally, here's the justification of some of the public on Ray Rice:

Question: Why should Ray Rice be GIVEN (instead of earned) a second chance?

Answer: Because he's really, really, sorry.

This is life people.

Dean Pees Basher here, front and center. Let's not get carried away with anointing DP as the best DC in football. It's one game, against a Tyrod Taylor lead team. Not exactly stiff competition. Let's see how things unfold, particularly when we play a quality opponent. Bend but don't break will rear it's ugly head again I'm sure.

No doubt, keep in mind he had how many months to game plan for Buffalo?

He likely was looking at the scoreboard seeing the Chargers melting down and said "Damn, I'm glad I'm in Baltimore".

Where are all the Dean Pees bashers today? [chirp chirp chirp] Huh? Where are you? [chirp chirp chirp]

Man, it felt good to get a regular season win! Hadn't experienced that since 12/27/15. That's 258 days! Without a Ravens reg season win. Ay ay ay!

Way to go, D! Now, let's get those kinks worked out of the offense, and this may prove to be a very fun season. I see 0 threat from RGIII's Browns next week.

But, argh, that last minute FG to give Cincy the win was so frustrating! We should be sitting atop the decision right now.

the thing is Dean Pees changed his whole strategy like he should have done a couple of years ago. He simplified it so now the players can hunt instead of think. This is what weve (lots of fans) have been saying all along.

I agree except I don't want to lose a game. How about we win but he has 300 yards.

Well, it isn't the first time, and probably won't be the last. Thanks for the link. I had no idea the Patriots had a Hernandez exchange day. Probably cause the only place you can find out about it is some obscure site. I never saw the line of thousands of people circling Gillette stadium holding up their Hernandez jerseys, smiling at the cameras and primping for face time, for 48 hours on all the typical media outlets. Probably, 'cause in his case, it was ONLY murder.

CBS sports is so obscure.  It was also on all of the other national networks and local ones.  When your only news source is Marty Bass you are probably going to miss some things.

Not just that but don't forget we hired a new db coach in Leslie Frazier.  As good as the d line was, the secondary to me was the most surprising.

lol.....I got a kick out of your post.....your answer reminded me of Sam in "A Few Good Men"

Some Ravens fans: "I strenuously object to the fact that Ray Rice has not been given a chance to play in the NFL again!"

mcjacket23: "I strenuously object? Is that how it works? Objection. Overruled. No, no, I strenuously object!"

PFF grades every single play that a player is in the game, and they do it for every single player (even if you just play one down).  Not only would it be difficult for a fan to continuously watch a player, but it would also make for a pretty lame viewing experience.  Yanda is as solid as it gets.  He is one of the best guards in the NFL year in and year out.  Yea, Marshall had two penalties, which is bummer, but he performed well on all of the other downs. In fact he played so well that he had the highest grade of any right guard in the league (KOs grade was the best of all left guards) Stanley is a rookie.  He played well for a rookie and that is probably an under satement, but he had some growing pains (mostly in run blocking).  And thats to be expected of a Rookie that plays at one the toughest positions in the league.  And maybe you did zero in on Stanley on every single play that he was in the game for, But if thats the case it would be impossible to also watch Marshall.  PFF stats are a great way to evaluate players and this especially true for the OL.  Yea there are flaws, but the numbers contain much more legitimate data than any fan watching the game would be able to collect.  Im not trying jump down your throat here but the illegitimacy of  PFF is a common theme in the forum. You're entitled to your opinion though, I just wanted to try and explain why these numbers are the way they are.  The link bellow really gives an in depth look at how the they come up with the grades.

I know how hard it is trying to focus on all the players, I even saw a hand-off to West that I thought was to Forsett. I could have swore I saw number 29 until the play was over and I realized the number was 28 only after the RB got up off the ground.

I hope RR gets a second chance in NFL. His days as a Raven ended when the damaging video came out. The bottom line is he punched a woman who was a fraction of his strength and yeah, other NFL players have done it and got away with it cause there wasn't 'proof', but still... he did it. The experience changed him no doubt, so I do hope another team gives him a shot at RB again so he/we/sports fans can see what he's got left in him as an athlete.

Dean Pees barely had players last year who were healthy. "Most injured team in NFL last year." That is a factor I don't care who the DC is...if your guys are going down and your next man up, next man up, next man up...gotta give some credit for coaching thru that...or I give him credit anyway. It couldn't have been easy, but ppl seem to want to forget how last year really was. It was ...everything and anything pretty much went wrong. So when things go better it's NOT because of his coaching? The poor man can't get a break from these fans who just think he's awful. I don't think he is and only time will prove that...but it already has...we've made playoffs the other seasons with him as DC, again...that's got to count for something, as you don't just make playoffs with a lousy DC at helm. But I'm sure there be excuses for how that happened as well.
