Would You Like to See the Patriots Go 4-0?

34 posts in this topic

I know, I know- call me crazy for kinda wanting to see the Patriots go 4-0 to start the season (if they don't win the Super Bowl).

The reason being that Jimmy G. (not gonna attempt to spell that last name right now) is the starter and if he can go 4-0, then that's two separate times that the Patriots would have shown that they could win without Tom Brady.

The first was with Matt Cassell when the Patriots went on to go 11-5, only to miss the playoffs due to tie-breakers in the division and then conference records. In most years, that's good enough to make the playoffs. Even more, though, is that this was easily Cassell's second best season (he had a good year in 2010), but easily one of the most memorable in his otherwise awful career.

The big thing for Tom Brady is that he's a proven winner and the Patriots always win with Brady, but we may see two separate times where the Patriots proved they did not need Brady to win. On Monday, Jimmy G. went on the road without his LT or TE and played really well. The Cardinals were 10 point favorites. This wasn't like, "Oh we hate the Pats, so we hope they lose," underdogs. This was legitimate underdogs where the Patriots should have lost, but didn't.

I just hope this detracts some from Brady being "the GOAT". He's never going to have the best stats (he will not touch Manning or Brees), so his big appeal has always been inning (he's tied with Montana for rings, so not sure how that works), but the Patriots may be showing that it's more Bill Belichick than it is Tom Brady for when the Patriots win.

And don't get me wrong; Brady is a good quarterback who clearly puts up very good numbers, but is he the best ever? In my book, no and this is helping to prove it.

NO.

Because Belichick is every bit of an arrogant, narcissistic you know what as Br*dy. And as much of a cheater. Hate them both equally.

I'd rather not see the Pats win but if they do, it is a nice consolation prize

This is where I'm at.

The Patriots are likely going to win and make the playoffs anyway, but in an ideal world, Jimmy G goes 4-0 and shows Brady is a product of NE. Then Brady goes 0-12

I mean Jimmy G beat Arizona in Arizona without Gronk and with the second team O-line in there. Impressive stuff.

I would like to see Harbaugh give Tomlin a, "this is how you beat the Patriots" talk so we can go through them to the Super Bowl.

But your hopes will end with us

The Patriots will continue to get the first seed and home field advantage because the three teams in their division continue to be dumpster fires. I have never seen a division where the other teams could not unseat the perennial powerhouse over this length of time. It really speaks to the lack of leadership/ownership of these other teams.

I kinda do simply to see people's reactions to it. Also it'd be good for Jimmy G since this is his chance to become a starter somewhere else, the way Brock O. did.

I hesitantly picked Miami. That's probably reason 4378 that I don't want the patriots to win this week.

Welp it is happening but it is funny that their 3rd string QB is now coming in with 4 days of prep and doing well against a very good Houston defense. As much as I hate the Pats, I gotta admit that BB is the best coach all time or at least really close. Winning like this with the current cap restraints and free agency is impressive.

Honestly, I don't care. They will likely win the East and it is unlikely that we'll be vying against them for the #1 seed or for a bye week in the playoffs. I'm really just focused on what the AFC North teams do and don't want to see any 2nd place team in another division rack up too many wins, so as to create serious competition for a wild card.

As long as they go 0-1 in the playoffs, especially if that involves us getting another post-season road win in Foxboro, I don't care what they do in the regular season.

BB don't want see us; they want the Bengals or the Steelers....

The Ravens are 5 - 11 without Joe Flacco.

The Patriots are 14 - 5 without Brady.

Read into that what you wish.

People are sometimes in denial when comparing how Brady is overly better than Joe......
