Sorry Mods, he deserves his own post after his performance yesterday.  A lot of fans, me included, were not that impressed with Wright's performance during the pre-season. But the way he balled out yesterday when it counted deserves some serious acknowledgement.  If he would have pulled in that interception and ran for a pick 6, that would have been one of the best DB performances in a game since Ed Reed.  Not taking anything from the rest of the defense b/c they played very well, but yesterday Wright was head and shoulders above the rest.

Well with Jimmy taking on the task of shadowing Watkins around the field without safety help, it made the rest of the secondary's job much easier. But Wright still had to make the plays. 3 TFL...

After the past couple years and watching our DBs consistently whiff on open field tackles, it was refreshing to watch Wright make so many. He and Jimmy definitely feed off each other and make each other better. Most fun ive had watching our D since maybe 2011. Its been so long since ive confidently expected us to get off the field on 3rd down.

Wright was a question to many flock members...  Highly criticized.  I think he did a decent job yesterday shutting them all up.  The guy played a phenomenal game.  Call me impressed.  11 tackles from a corner.

Wright was indeed a question and I was among those doing the questioning. What appeared to be different is that today he played like a wild dog just let off of his leash. The theme for this season on defense is that Pees needs to unleash the hounds. They were swarming to the ball unlike anything I've seen from this unit in a while. Let's hope Dean keeps the faith and let's his players go out and take some risks and make plays.

This is not to take anything away from Wright as he played a spectacular game, but I think Weddle is going to make a much larger impact on this defense than I thought.  I think his football IQ and ability to direct the defense is what could allow Wright to have more games like this going forward.

I think it's Leslie Frazier who has been HUGE for these guys.  He's much more aggressive on the back end.  And Pees knows that Frazier knows his stuff.

No apology necessary.

Pees did say that Wright was a bit banged up in the pre-season. He looked much more aggressive yesturday, I think it had to do with him hoping not to aggravate his injuries.

Yeah I think Frazier has plenty to do with it.

I'd say Wright had the best individual performance of anyone on the field yesterday, other than Jerry Hughes who collected 2 sacks and who knows how many pressures. If Wright had pulled in that INT, I would have definitely given him the "best individual performance award".

Superb job, I hope he is this year's Josh Wilson or Corey Graham for us

He was playing out of his mind and made a huge difference.

I agree B!

Just got home from a business trip in N.C. the past few days so I recorded the game and I am re-watching it again.  He was awesome!
