[News] Ravens' New Playmaking Wide Receivers Make The Difference

Perriman made a great catch and then dropped one that he should have had-- that has been pattern for him. Also, first down on the 13 yard line and two runs are called. Mindboggling to me.

I will give him a pass on that one.  Wasn't he under double coverage?, and his first NFL game.  He's got some growing to do.

Yes. Perriman saw that linebacker closing and his arms got short. I also agree that the playbook must have been misplaced in that sequence.

Love what I saw from new&healthy WRs..Wallace,Perriman,Pitta.
However Trestman is still sketchy playcaller, 10 passes to 1 run, and use our weapons. What 2, 3 max plays for Wallace,Perriman. They should have 5 catches a game with a couple 20 plus yrd plays each

Flacco still holds on to the ball too long. Overall, the O-line still needs
to help keep him clean and free from late hits! Way too many sacks today.

This is a product of 3rd down play calling or failing to recognize the blitz and take advantage with some quick hitting HOT reads or screens. Otherwise they need to show more difficult packages in those situations that mask the run/pass. A tight bunch formation could work wonders or something similar.

I am glad we got the Win, relief. You are never going to be perfect.

That being said, I have yet to see Trestman establish the run. Of course, that takes a good run blocking scheme. Give the Bills credit, their D line is good, but it is a commitment to running the football.

Also, I didnt see Trestman help Joe out with screens, draws, play action to offset the aggressivenes of the Bills.

The middle of the field was open all day. Why no crossing routes? You run them to help Joe.

3rd down routes falling short of the markers, why? Find the stick, then turn around, not 1 yard shy.

Only once did I see a reciever on a comeback route to help Joe while under duress, Aiken. Its like you want to send everybody deep during obvious blitzing downs.

I would have liked to see a quick handoff to Juice on 3rd and short once in awhile.

I mentioned earlier we should have a speed package, with Wallace, Aiken, and Moore all in at the same time. Just dont sent them all deep, use at least one on a crossing route please! This will be a matchup nightmare for teams.

Old School Smash Ball, Amen.

Trestmen doesnt establish the run. No play actions to offset aggressive D, and No Crosses etc.

I remember with Kubiak he always had those 5-6 "Main" Plays that always worked against every defense. The 1 pass play that sticks out the most is TE Cross. Whether Pitta, OD or someone else it always came 1st 10 offensive plays of the game, successfully.

Trestman is..a mess

Too many of the same old failures. Short yardage situations are killing us already. Third and one, fourth and one, and can't make a first down. On third down they throw the ball short of the first down marker. Unreal. If this is the best we can hope for, it is going to be a long year. Scoring 13 points on a mediocre Buffalo team in your own house is nothing to get excited about. Especially when we read crap about how Joe will be a "Pro Bowl quarterback" this year. Did he look like a Pro Bowl Quarterback today? Seriously?

It being the first game of the season I'm optimistic about the offense playing more sound down the road. Feels better knowing that Joe can spread the ball around more too.

It was kind of strange not hearing SSS name called 100 times lol.

yeah those situations are killing us already....??? So many problems today in the VICTORY. Fans like you are going to be why I stop coming to read amd make comments. We're only going to get better and better on O and D. Smitty working his way back, and Wallace and Perriman's chemistry will only grow. And Moore. Plus Pitta and Gilmore working their way back. Not to mention our best RB is working on getting healthy too. Then we'll be working Doom in, and Willie Henry, and the other young pieces on D. This team is going to get stronger and stronger every game will is very convinient considering the first half of our schedule is the softer end. No gimmie games in the NFL anymore though. Plus we clearly weren't trying to hold the ball for 4 seconds and chuck it 50 yards every time vs this blitzing D. It's called a gameplan for each opponent with the only objective being....get the W. We got the W. What team didn't have faults in their game today. NONE. give me a break. though I guess there will always be complaining pessimistic fans. Though I'm guessing you would refer to it as a "realistic" fan. LMAO. Have fun with that attitude

with 2 rookies on the left side, Zuttah having that lapse for a turnover, And yanda having 2 penalties today after 3 in the past 3 years.....the O line is only going to get better and better as the year goes on in my opinion.

You really shouldn't get so offended by other's comments. It's not worth it. Especially since you're not going to be reading or commenting on this site anymore. It's no big deal. It's just a game.

I agree with you. We are too loaded with talent to be scoring only 13 points in home games. Trestman is our problem. I have a brother who lives in Chicagoland. Big Bears fan. Sent me a condolence card when he heard the Ravens picked him up as OC.

Any QB that suffers an ACL and MCL tear toward the end of the season (even midway) isn't going to be 100% in his first game the next.  There's no way.  Has he recovered phenomenally???  YES.  Is he ready to cut and run in a gametime situation??? NO.  Anybody that expected Joe to look like a probowl QB yesterday was fooling themselves.

And during preseason Joe did admit to us that he still suffers pain in his repaired knee the day after practice. So all is not back to full functioning yet.

interesting...a QB returning from a major injury throws for over 200 yards, 1 TD and 0 INT for a 99.9 rating! Not a bad first game back.

Toss in a defense led by the Ryan Brothers, even better!

Having the offense get the ball with under 5 minutes and never giving it back was best!

That's kinda my point.... There were others in the discussion at that time that were bashing him.   Imagine a completely healthy Joe?

I was glad we won the game, of course. But for me the most exciting gratifying moment was watching Joe throw that 40 yard arrow catching Wallace perfectly in stride on the Bill's 35 yard line a yard or two in front of the pursuing safety resulting in an official 66 yard touchdown. I've been waiting for years to see Joe throw that accurately over distance and then have the fleet receiver run it on in for a TD. IMHO that was the prettiest pass I have seen Joe throw in a game.

First I am elated we won, especially against a good coach and gritty Bills team. WALLACE is instant success. Perriman revealed his talent. When we play the Steelers or The Bengals we need to double and triple that winning score. These are 4 critical games we have to play. Fortunately we have games to improve ourselves before their match ups. Last night I witnessed the Steelers demolish Washington at home. They earned 8 first downs in the second quarter alone! The Steelers D was smothering. I feel confident with Wallace. His return to a Steelers/Ravens game is going to create havoc. I hope he puts an athletic signature on these games too

Scared can be relevant word, especially since injury is a word now associated with Joe Flacco.

I don't know what it is about Moore, but I really like the kid. He looks like he could be a solid WR, I don't necessarily see that whole deep threat thing yet. But I don't care because he looks like a guy that will move the chains.
