Was anyone else impressed by Wright? He was absolute beast!

At a minimum, I'm calling him the game's X factor, but straight up you could really say he was the player of the game. For all the concern I have had over CB #2, that is probably the biggest positive coming out of today's game.

We did win this game didn't we? Reading comments about Jimmy Smith getting paid to much, etc. Sammy Watkins had 4 catches for 43 yards, NOT 12 catches for 190 yards and two TD's. Does the Offense need to work on some things? Absolutely. Will they get better? Absolutely. The Bills were getting after us as well. The other team gets paid too and did a nice job defensively. To all of the glass half empty posters.......Ravens 1-0.

For those that insist on defending Jimmy Smith, please open your eyes during the game. His performance is poor I do not care who he is covering. He is trailing the receiver or getting turned around more often that not. If you think I am being overly critical of him, check out PPF grades, I am sure they are the worst of the backfield. Pressure up front saved him from being the goat of the game.. We need to sit him down and play Davis.

1. I still want to see a pss rush. I know the game plan was different with Tyrod bc is we rush him too hard he can break contain and hurt us.. so the goal with him was more about contain. I get that... would love to see BWilliams and TJernigan pushing and collapsing the pocket more up the middle to create more pressure organically however.

2; I was impressed with the defense yesterday but need a bigger sample. Was a lot of it due to the Bills ineptitude or was it us? I will give Pees credit for this one however he had them ready for this one.

3. I loved the way the offense started the game but thought that we became too conservative and predictable in the 2nd half... hope Trestman opens that play book up a little more.

4. Need to get the OL to get...they looked great at times and looked lost at times but a good game to get under the belt.

5. It was great to see Pitta and Perriman contributing (as well as Suggs and SSS) Joe looked like he didn't have an injury and the overall performance was a C+ but gave a lot of reason to be very optimistic!

The Bills mistakes won the game for the Ravens. The Ravens did all they could to lose the game, but couldn't overcome all the Bills gifts. Poor effort for a home opener. The secondary did stand out, and that is a great place to start our rebuilding process. We should be MUCH sharper next week against a poor team. 1 and 0, way to go. We didn't play the starters in pre-season and it showed.....big time. Go Ravens!

Things I learned:

1. Flacco is back!! As is Steve Smith, Forsett, Suggs, etc!
2. Mike Wallace was a good pickup
3. Our defense is pretty awesome, granted it was the Bills but still.
4. The offense needs to produce more. An extra TD or two to score would've made things easier on the team and us fans.
5. Throw the ball away instead of taking more sacks.
6. That one play where Tyrod used magic to escape a sack cannot happen again. Next time might be the game for them.

i like everything you said. The missed sake on Tyrod was cool on his part but we can't allow that. The problem is players go for that big hit and use only force to knock him down. Good players use that force against you which is why you need to WRAP UP WHEN YOU TACKLE! This is why Settle, Cards and other good defenses in the league stay atop the charts because they rarely miss tackles because they use good technique. Tyrod isn't the type of player you want to go high on. Around the waist and drive or take his feet from under him. Sign me up to coach Harbs. I got you!

Hopefully the Ravens can pull out a victory next week, but the Ravens have major troubles in that in that armpit, Cleveland. The new Browns are the worst franchise in NFL history, but give Ravens fits. The Browns are like the antithesis of the Patriots. I swear Belichick has sold his soul. How many times can one team win on a phantom penalty or a botched time out, or a dropped pass or a terrible play call or a MISSED FG. Honestly, did anyone think that Cardinal kicker was going to make that? It was a foregone conclusion.

Jimmy Smith is getting paid too much money to be playing like a second tier CB. Out of everyone on defense he might've been the worst. That pass rush really cover up for him. For a player to get 21 million guaranteed you would think the Ravens would get what they paid for.

I don't think Jimmy played horrible. He locked down Sammy Watkins who is one of the better WR's in the NFL and held him to under 50 yards rec. I would love to see him be a little more aggressive at times but all in all... I really don't think that Jimmy played that bad yesterday. (Thought SWright looked impressive however)!

Our "D" looks like a playoff caliber unit. Our "O" has some work to do but should be looking better by the time we get to the tough part of our schedule. Biggest disappointment to me was our new returner who hurt our field position every time he touched the ball. Sure hope he can shake some rust off soon.
