tavon young.

he needs to be the guy. even if he is slipping at times due to inexperience, that kid is legit, we all knew it from the time we drafted him, the coaches know it. i really hope this isnt one of those cases which harbaugh is known for, when he has an unproven young guy who he doesnt trust yet as a starter, and a veteran who has proven he is no good.... and instead of seeing what he has with a young guy he fields the player that is certain to fail.

maybe powers' performance in the preseason meant nothing, maybe hes actually much better, but hes been a career journeyman, not like he has some long impressive resume to earn him the job over young.

I wouldn't be surprised if Correa got a good amount of snaps next week. I mean he is probably the best coverage linebacker and good at getting pressure in the middle. I think Orr got the nod last week just because of the fact you have to contain McCoy before anybody. Next week with a pocket quarterback I see them trying to use Correa to get pressure in the middle. I could see him getting 25-30 snaps this coming week.

i dont know man, i think the only time we may see correa is in our 4-3 packages. zach orr has been quite possibly the best defender on the ravens ever since the preseason, itll be really hard to unseat him at ILB. i REALLY hope to see correa in some extended action, im a huge fan of his, he plays with so much speed and fire, at least he did at one point, i hope he finds that fire again and plays like the dog he is.

i also dont think harbaugh wants to play any game with mccown. hes burned us enough, i think hes gonna leave the risk out of it and field what he thinks is the 11 best players, and as it stands right now he probably likes mosley and orr better at ILB, and ill say he obviously likes suggs, mclellan, and judon better at OLB.

agree with the 4-3 comment completely

Correa will probably get some OLB snaps this week anyway if Zadarius is a no go. Suggs and Judon can't do it alone. McClellan is our new Upshaw as far as when he is playing OLB to set the edge, not bringing much in the pass rush department (and when he actually did last week he couldn't finish).

If that happens, Rex Ryan should return to Baltimore and be our DC or LB coach or something.

Wow l actually got a negative remark for saying that Rex Ryan should come back and contribute with the Ravens. Nobody doesn't like Rex.

I wonder can Levine Sr shared his spot with Powers in the nickel CB spot? He was making plays in the preseason and l would like to see more of that. ?

Levine Sr. plays the dime LB when all Ravens are healthy, but he'd play the nickel in a pinch behind Powers and Tavon Young.

I got something to say to the browns. YOU SCARED? Well you should be. The Ravens defense might be back. Not like 2000 though. But it will be a nightmare when game time starts. Mr McCown,,You better be very careful who you throw it to cause you never know who might step in pick a quick 6 off, SO if you Browns want to win theres an old saying. To be the best you have to beat the best.

I know we always play the Browns close but I'm anticipating a blow out. I think the offense starts to click, getting chunks in the run game and overwhelming their secondary in the passing game with just too many weapons to cover.

The D is going to pick up where they left off. We get two turnovers and hold them under 250 yds total offense.

And  I agree that Tavon Young should keep the nickel job until he loses it. The Bills didn't seem to get much out of the slot. His speed is an asset and the more time he gets now the better it is for his future. Powers shouldn't be handed the job just bc he's a veteran. He should have to earn it like anyone else.

I mean, he and Harbaugh notoriously didn't get along if I remember correctly

I'd be so upset if our offense didn't click against this Browns defense, seriously it's pretty horrible and/or inexperienced from top to bottom

I know some HCs do return to the coordinator ranks ... however ... I just don't get the sense that Rex would be one of them. From appearances (though I'm not sure if this is just image or reality) he's got an ego the size of a house. He's not going to want to take that step back and, in the unlikely event that he does, I just can't see him coming here.

I think the bridge back is gone. I know that his time here was very good, but more often than not, you just don't see guys going back to an old job they left behind years before.

Do we know if the Browns have anything planned to help the Ravens Honour C.B. before the game ?

My guess is most likely not, but there's no mention of it yet. Once we return home it would be more appreciated and maybe the family will be in a place where they can attend.

I hope they at least have a "CB" on the back of the helmet or patch on the jersey.

I think that honor is only reserved for owners. If Tray didn't get one I don't see CB getting one.

CB was a member of the Ravens family for 11 years.  I'd be surprised if there isn't some sort of recognition.

I was just watching Ray Horton's presser on the Browns website. The sense I got was he was very confident that he would be able to bring in delayed blitzes and confuse and disrupt our offense and Flacco and lull him into mistakes and turnovers. While I'm reading between the tea leaves here he seemed very confident with his game plan. So, as an offense we need to start fast and put up a bunch of points quickly.

Hopefully a sticker decal on the helmet for the rest of the season or something like that.

The Bills aren't really a team that utilizes the slot...

the whole league played with a gene upshaw patch, but patches are typically reserved for team owners. there are plenty of helmet decals that can be used though, as a matter of fact i think we have a 25 decal for tray, i could be wrong though.

Not much to say on this prediction other than the Browns are a better team with McCown under center and the Ravens beat a hapless Bills team that will fire Rex Ryan before the year is out. We will get the win in Cleveland but our lack of a running game and overall lack of talent on offense will be exposed for all of the NFL to see. Defense wins this game for us as we can only muster 4 field goals and a TD. Ravens 19-10

What makes you such an authority on how good or bad our offense is after one game? Why don't you give it a few more games before submitting us to your football wizardry? Thanks.

I think time is the issue in not having a patch or sticker on Sunday.
He did after all just pass this morning.

Exactly and they probably just landed in Cleveland when they got the news.

Forget all the noise you said before the bolded part ... it is just negative spouting. Win 19-10? I'll take it. Win and move forward.

Yeah, away wins tend to be pretty shunty. Especially for us. I've got the guy on ignore so I wouldn't have seen the post otherwise, but I agree about our lack of a run game and not scoring seven as many times as we'd like.

But I'd still be thrilled with an ugly win. I've got us winning 18-10, but even if we win 8-6 with bottled snap leading to a safety that makes the difference I won't be complaining in the post-game thread. Just get the W by any means necessary and prepare for Jacksonville.

There doesn't need to be a patch.  There will be an unstoppable defensive line playing for Coach CB.

I agree; we fans should feel it on defense when we are going to destroy the Browns O-line.......

PS: Brandon William will bring home a W and more Ws to honor coach C.B....

I truly believe they won't put Correa in for a lot of OLB snaps. I think the OLB rotation primarily will consist of Suggs, McClellan, Judon and Carter. Correa may be included in some sub packages but I doubt it. Primarily because he's still learning and therefore can't play really fast. Also, he's largely played the ILB position in TC and pre-season.

Coach Brook's passing is going to make the Ravens play really hard tomorrow. In memory of him I expect the entire defense to play hard tomorrow. That's exactly what he would've wanted anyway. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Goodbye Coach Brooks. RIP.
