Next up: Ravens at Browns, FirstEnergy Stadium Cleveland

Browns odds of winning just went way up, the defense may get the test earlier than expected.

I realize this may sound comical to be fearful of McKown, but dismantling a QB like him will show progress from last year when they could not.

We should still win this game and win it by more than one score, but we have to take the game to them and put them away. I do not want to see another close game with the Browns.

we arent good enough to underestimate anyone and get away with it.

And that, my friends, is a FACT!

It's better we know this now than later. I think knowing this ahead of time is actually a big plus for us.

Yeah they now know who to gameplan against. Rg3 was going to get injured at some point.

Dang it! RGIII would've been a perfectly easy QB to play for the Ravens after just playing against Tyrod. Now they've to gear up to face McCown who played the Ravens D well. But, not this D, so we shall see!

Could be season ending // career ending.

More the latter I think.

Poor Browns..... traded away the rights of a potential franchise QB who wasn't good enough for them while RG3 was and now he's on IR. Billick was right, as long as we don't screw up and give them a win, the 2008 Detroit Lions are about to have some company.

I just took a walk on the wild side and went to a Browns message board. There's a post on their board, "Guess the one win the Browns will have this season". A lot of them are saying their one win will be against the Ravens.

They're going to be disappointed then IMO.

Crazy to think that our odds just decreased since we have to face the Browns backup QB.

I was thinking about that too. For some reason McCown has been a Ravens' killer in the past. Still, their O-line isn't as good as it once was, and he's never been great against pressure. By all rights, the Ravens should win this.

I refuse to be scared of a QB if half of the people on this board can't even spell his name.

Half of our own player's names get misspelled.

Josh McCROWN OWNED us last year, combine him, our tendency to play down to competition and Hue Jackson(the guy who's routinely owned us) and I see a very tough game her.

Alas! Poor chaps, let them fantasize for a few more days. Especially the Browns fans must be given that much latitude I believe. Just look at their plight. They're reduced to hiring a baseball guy to manage their football players analytically. Poor, poor Browns fans.

Well at least we won't have to play another dual threat QB and if we bring a solid pass rush and wrap up, we could have more sacks than week one. I'm still confident in this game. I'm looking at our second matchup against them last season where our secondary got stronger towards that last half and we've made some improvements since then. Let get it.

Very happy with the McCown development. I'm expecting the interior pass rush to go nuts and I want to see an OLB not named Suggs get on the board early and often.

Crazy but understandable I suppose especially since McCown beat us here in Baltimore...

This..

But they are just so terrible every where else. The 49ers and Browns have the worst rosters in the NFL. If we aren't able to beat them still by two scores, I'll start to get worried about our chances of beating the better teams in the league.

Partially true. The first game in Cleveland he definitely owned us.

2nd game in Baltimore (in the second half, when our defense improved greatly), not so much.

He threw for 212 on 38 attempts with just one TD pass. Austin Davis actually tore us up pretty good in that game.

Defense wins championships! We have made a statement with the first game of the year by being the best "D" statistically by far, Monday nights games withstanding. If we maintain that trend week 2 and I think we will the foundation for a winning season will have been built! It's early days still but it's hard to dismiss a dominant Defense.

This'll be a close one for pretty much the entire game. Hue Jackson knows EXACTLY how to beat us and the Ravens tend to play down to the competition.

As much as I'd like to enjoy a blowout, gotta agree with ya. Personally I think both teams get a few turnovers causing us fans to bite off whatever nails are left from this week. But I do expect a win, just a normal Ravens fashion win

Browns always play us tough. But there ain't nobody playing down to anyone.  This is a team coming off of a 5-11 season.

the first game yeah-

The 2nd- yeah not so much.

He doesn't scare me in the least and this is a new  ravens defense.

Sorry to preface my complaints about Ohio fan bases with the I lived there mantra, but most Browns fans deserve the product they have on the field year in and out. Most.

I know it's only game 2 in a long season, but this is a 'Must Win' and despite what the "sports analysis" might be saying - the Browns aren't a guaranteed win by any stretch of the imagination. The last time we've actually 'blown-out' this team was 2009 (10+ points).

No matter what their roster looks like...they've always been a play or 2 away. We've normally found ways to get wins, but never taking these games for granted.

Why a 'Must Win'? We need to sweep the Browns this season (best case scenario) in order to go at least 4-2 in AFCN. When it's all said and done - allowing the Browns to steal this one by underestimating them will really be felt later in the season.

What does the Falcons losing have to do with our games vs Cleveland?I was predicting they would lose that game.Anyone who has been following Atlanta and Tampa closely knows that the Falcons are a dumpster fire and the Bucs are a young team on the come up.

I bring them up because they're an example of why it's not always a good idea to use the past (undefeated in home openers) to make a prediction.
