Don't know why some people are predicting a blowout, we're the Ravens, we play DOWN to the competition. This'll be a very tough game.

I don't know why people are predicting a blowout, but with the season we had last season, I don't know why they would play down to the competition.

With RG3 as the starter, there's always a chance we'll see Josh McCown.

And since he is hurt already, I would say it is pretty certain.

Historically our Ravens play great against good teams and not so hot against weaker teams. Browns looked awful today, so I hope we can show up big time against them.

Worst thing Ravens could do : underestimate the Browns.

A loss against them could be really bad for the team's morale. Ravens have to play with no mercy.

As usual when it comes to the browns. Blow them out and move it along to week 3. Dont toy around with them

I don't think it will happen but I'd love to see us do it. After this game its tough to tell if we're going to be bad, average, good, or great. If we destroy Cleveland then it will give us a great indication of how good we are.

We have to go into this game and set a tone,  show everyone our nasty defense is back.   RG3 does not belong in the AFCN and I think we will show everyone that.   But I do see a tough game,  20-16ish

I do subscribe to the notion that we play down to our competition.. But.

IT'S THE BROWNS. Every year, they have pieces on both sides of the ball I like. They always have a good oline, they usually have good WRs, most of the time they have decent running backs. BUT THEY STILL FIND A WAY TO MESS IT UP. Like they have Barnidge, and Coleman, a good oline(sans for Pastor or whatever his name is), and a RB named Duke Johnson that I really like, and they have Joe Haden, and.... Well crap that defense doesn't have much else. Personally I think Ogbah is terrilbe, no pass rush moves, Nassib is a good prospect but is raw.

Not only that but their draft was terrible outside of a few picks. I like Coleman, I like Nassib, I like Jordan Payton.. But Cody Kessler? He's Alex Smith lite.. That's not a compliment either, he's got a noodle arm for days. And Shon Coleman's footwork was awful(I mean, I understand that he's been through a lot and really hope he proves me wrong). I hope he starts and Doom is back.

I think if RG3 is playing, and Doom is back, we'll be licking our chops. I don't think they can run the ball on us, and I really don't think they can pass when RGKnee is scared for his life.

I expect it to be more competitive than the score indicates. But us winning by a TD or two.

We might as well go ahead and start the "Next up Jaguars" thread, Browns are terrible

But in all seriousness I don't think this one will be close. Not only are they just generally not good but we match up well against what little they do have. They don't have any real reliable pass rushers and that's what our oline struggled with today, their secondary is terrible and we have tons of weapons through the air, our defense looked rock solid against the Bills who may not be offensive minded but they have plenty of weapons and are head and shoulders better than the Browns. I genuinely see a blowout here and I don't like to throw that word around.

If the Oline comes out focused, limit the penalties and sacks then Flacco will light the Browns defense up. Well that's assuming the playcalling is like the first quarter and half of Bills game.

Defensively, I'd like to see everyone tackling solid like Wright.. Some game changing plays would be nice, a turnover or 2, couple sacks..

Ahhh how I miss these predictions threads...the good ole "we should win by 24" even though as Ravens fans we should be accustomed to never winning comfortably let alone actually scoring 24 pts.

Now we get to act as if RG3 isn't 1-0 against us, Hue Jackson doesn't own us, we dont have a history of week 2 let downs and even worse the Raven Killer Josh McCown may play...I don't know how anyone can feel comfortable about a division away game with those things in play..

With that being said...I completely expect this Raven team to find a way to win this game. They better. This is the type of game you can't lose if your trying to be taken seriously this year.

This game will be somewhat of a test. The Eagles, who i see as nowhere near as talented as us on either side of the ball, looked great against the Browns. The defense swarmed, got after the QB and forced turnovers while Carson Wentz orchestrated some great drives and made some beautiful throws.

We SHOULD dominate this team. But, for whatever reason, they always play us close.

If we do what we should and suffocate their offense, while ours uses this game as a coming out party to really get in sync... its a good sign that we'll play our game and impose our will instead of playing down to our competition like we've seen in some recent years.

If its a hard fought close game, its gonna be a nail biter of a season. We need to send a message and just hammer them. Impose our will and beat the life out of them early. Pedal to the metal the entire game...

--

Lots of new faces on this team. Tons. Our past history of playing down to the Browns and keeping them in games shouldnt effect this group. The D cannot act like theyve arrived, and need to continue to prove themselves week in and out.

Weddle should help with that. A guy coming from a losing program who is excited to be a part of a winning organization can do wonders in games like this -- bc he knows all too well what its like to give away games to teams you should beat. He'll remind everyone what needs to be done to get the W and hold everyone accountable.

Joe needs to use this game to get everything on point. No reason we shouldnt light them up bc I expect SSS to get the better of Haden and then we have advantages all across the board from there. But this is the Browns so you never know.

I was gonna bring up the fact that sweeping the Browns is just as vital to the Ravens' chances of playoff contention as fruits and vegetables are to the health of human body (corny analogy, but it is what it is). However, after I saw the Falcons lose their home opener after being undefeated in the Matt Ryan Era, it's basically pointless.

You would think with how great our defense played, we'd be able to hold them to like 10 points or whatever. Game by game basis people. I still expect our offense to suffer from growing pains. Flacco REALLY has to stop playing timid.

What does the Falcons losing have to do with our games vs Cleveland?I was predicting they would lose that game.Anyone who has been following Atlanta and Tampa closely knows that the Falcons are a dumpster fire and the Bucs are a young team on the come up.

Don't want to underestimate Cleveland, it's a bad look. Ravens can't really afford to underestimate anyone, they need to put 2015 as far behind them as possible.

Exactly right.

Browns have great deep receivers, that's something that didn't get tested yesterday. They also have Barnidge who could be a mismatch. Their run defense has been stout in the past, as well. Plus, it's a road game.

Bucs game in 2014

That 2014 actually had four games where they won by at least 20.

They were one of the worst run defending teams last year.

The fact that Doom announced mid week that he wasn't playing in week 1, tells me he's going to be out for a few weeks.

When they showed him on the side line at the end of the game, he had a very noticeable limp.  Don't know if he was

wearing a boot or not, but yeah I don't see him playing vs the Browns.

I know historically these games are always close so it would be foolish to expect otherwise, factor in Hue Jackson and potentially Josh McKown and it looks like another close game. All this said I really hope we can impose our will and not mess around with a close game to what honestly is a god awful team, the Bengals blew them out in both games last year and they usually always drop one game to them, we should blow this team out, we better win.

Is it my imagination, or did Cleveland (a very franchise QB needy team) just get beat pretty badly by the quarterback they passed on in the 2016 draft?

Schefter just reported RG3 injury is serious... Really bad news for us. McCown looked so comfortable ripping us apart last year.

What else is new? RG3 is made of glass.

Be careful what you wish for, but I'd rather not play McKown and instead play RG3. Then again, if it is McKown I'd like to think the defense is looking for some revenge on the total aniliation he dealt them last year.
