The Ravens have a handful of key players making their comebacks from injury. Baltimore will have to slow Tyrod Taylor's scrambling, generate a pass rush from different sources and protect Joe Flacco potentially with two rookies.

Absolutely agree that 2 of the top concerns are going to be containment on TT and our young left side of the O line holding up - not only in protecting Flacco, but in paving the way for the run game that we need to establish.

As far as the return of injured players go ... I'd add Jimmy Smith to the list. True, he did not miss significant time last year due to injury like the rest of those mentioned, but he did not play at the level required of him. Injury was stated as the reason and I am anxious to see that theory proven starting tomorrow.

When Tyrod crosses that scrimmage line, he becomes a Running back, that's when we need to crush him. That will slow him down some! :-)

Do not commit stupid penalties and protect the ball are the keys to winning. Just look to last year and that was the most common denominator to many of the close losses. Time to learn from those mistakes and make them a thing of the past.

I don't see Correa contributing in any meaningful manner in the first quarter of the season. All I can pray and hope for at this point is that Correa doesn't mimic the career curve of Arthur Brown. I doubt it but so far haven't seen much to prove me wrong yet.

Didn't expect much from him right out of the gate, but it is a little disturbing that Judon has outplayed him thus far. It is reminding me a little of the difference between Maxx and Boyle. I'm not sure if his lack of preseason impact is related to us shifting him to ILB in the early going, but I'd hope we'd just use him in the position he's best suited for and leave it at that. I feel like all the shifting in Elam's early career did not serve him (or us) well.

You may be right. Sometimes Pees' concept of cross training can definitely impede young minds into becoming overwhelmed and therefore ineffective. Pees needs to understand that while it is nice for him to have players cross trained at several different positions which in turn gives him flexibility both in terms of play calling and depth, it definitely can overwhelm and impede young players' growth curve and sometimes lead to perfectly talented players busting out in Baltimore.

I would now be watching the careers of both Brooks and Arthur Brown to see if they thrive in a different system. And if they do, I believe Pees may have the tendency to bite more than he can chew and may have to be replaced.

I want to watch five Touchdowns! Not two or three FIVE! Like I know they can do the Defense will hold them under 20pts! 35 -40 pts a game is the Destiny! LETS GO!

As much as I love Tyrod, he needs to be hit on every play action and option play.. I just dont wanna see him get hurt and have a great season after week 1.. I will be screaming all game long at work tomorrow no matter what though while im listening to the game.

well, the whole ILBer/OLBer thing is really much to do about nothing, in a 3-4, all the LBers. line up inside or outside depending on the package, because in a 3-4 they are really lighter D-Linemen, in many ways, so KC not grasping the ILBer position is why he didn't do well is hog wash...Every LBer sits in the same meeting, and they all have to know what the others are doing, bottom line is he was not doing a good enough job shedding blocks from the mammoth 0-Linemen in the league, and he didn't get the kind of bull rush that Judon, and Z were getting with their pass rush, bottom line, he needs to put on more wight and keep his quickenss, as both Judon and Z at 270+ pounds are very quick for their size, and have the strength to bull rush, and set the edge....KC needs to add more weight.....

I agree that one of the key to the game is the performance of our young o-line. We need to be balanced in the run and the pass. Also, the defensive front seven needs to stop the run and get to the QB. Other things I will watch for are how close are the CBs playing the WRs? Any impact plays from young players, does Pitta hit the field, big plays, is Pees more aggressive, and did the defense improve?

Just one point more will do it. I would like to see lots more as you do but am not expecting it.

I hope to see a turnover differential that favors our Ravens...in game 1 and throughout the season. Too many times last year, it seems that we were not able to secure the football when we had the opportunity on the defensive side.

Between the article and the comments, there are many good points. Time to play, and quit talking. We're ready!

What a lot of media and analyst will be watching for is Flacco vs Tyrod. If Joe plays poorly, the Flacco haters will pile it on. The Flacco fans will say it's Trestman, its cause he's coming back off ACL, rookies on the o-line etc. Despite all of the factor, Flacco has to out perform Tyrod. If there Ravens are going anywhere, Flacco must out play whatever QB he faces. Since Pees is not a great coordinator and the best players on defense are getting older, Flacco has to be the guy during the 2012 playoffs. The defense needs time to grow and a better coordinator.
