Pick the 7 inactives for Sundays game.

Outside of Dixon and Dumervil, the other 5 inactives are a crap shoot.

So I will say; Moore, Hurst, Henry, Carter, and I think Powers, since he is still hurt.

I agree, with the exception of Henry. I don't see us going with less than 6 DL. I think it may be Canady for this week. I was hoping to see Moore go only because I  want to see a 3 wide with him, Perriman & Wallace but I don't see us going 6 WR active.

Dixon, Dumerville, and Powers are all out so they are definites.  Can't see us having 6 CB active, so Canady/Price (my guess is Canady), Carter, Jensen/Hurst (depending if they trust Lewis or Hurst more as a backup LT),. Moore or Henry---probably depending on how comfortable the medical staff feels about extended reps for SSS and Perriman if injuries pop up to other WRs.

With all that in mind, i predict these 7 inactives:

Doom

Powers

Dixon

Carter

Canady

Hurst

Moore

My heart wants to see Moore on the field, but I just can't see it happening.  Leaves us too short on DLine if Henry is inactive and injuries occur.

Carter is on this team for ST reasons, so he'll be active. They aren't keeping a STer and making him inactive.

They have three tight ends on the roster and you think one will be inactive?

Difficult to sit folks on game day with this roster, but here's my shot at the 7:

Powers, Dumervil, Dixon because of injury

Hurst because he's the last OL and teams typically dress 7.

Price because he's the CB who has not yet played S (Canady plays)

Henry because the Ravens decide they can get through the opener with 5 DL--Scares me a little, but the Ravens average approximately 2.4 DL per play, so the other DL will average 48% of snaps.

Correa because he has the least contribution this week of the OLBs and Carter can take up a portion of pass rush responsibilities plus ST.

Two other possibilities I considered were Maxx Williams (if not all the way healthy) and Canady, but I think they'll both be active.

I think they should keep Moore active. Just another deep threat to exploit thier secondary. Plus if a wr goes down we technically would only have 3 left since Hester hasn't really been worked in yet.

I see Correa playing a huge role Sunday. Yes he didn't make flashy plays in preseason but he did set the edge and got some pressure in a few different situations. He is in my mind the #2 inside linebacker and may be used to track Tyrod. Yes in the dime defense we may use Levine for that as well but in the base defense I think Correa could see a big role.

Hurst will dress.  Gotta have a tackle.  Urschel will not dress.  Jensen will.

LOL...Urschel will probably start. If he doesn't start, he'll definitely dress just in case Alex Lewis struggles at LG.

Yes because I think one will be hurt more than is led on.

That's fair. I'd imagine all three suit up, but may not all play meaningful snaps

Here are the 7 inactive players that I see:

Doom, Powers, Dixon, Canady, Sheldon Price, Hurst and either Maxx Williams or Buck Allen.

We can kick Lewis out to tackle if necessary.

As much as we all dislike Hurst, I seriously doubt he will be inactive, he's our only other LT unless you want to count Lewis - which I wouldn't considering he got almost no snaps there at preseason - surely if we were looking at him to be our backup LT then we would have played him there more.

Also, I really don't think we'd have our completely healthy second round pick inactive. Sure he didn't have any splash plays in preseason but he can be used in a variety of different ways.

He only played there for a couple snaps in the first preseason game, if we were looking at him as a possible LT backup then surely he would have gotten more snaps there. As much as we all dislike Hurst, he's the only realistic backup LT.

Dennis Pitta will start according to Ian Rappaport

What does that mean for Crockett? Pitta hasn't played in over 2 years and is now starting

I just noticed I worded that badly. I should've said Pitta will be Active today. I assume he will be the main receiving tight end, with Crockett doing more blocking, but who knows.

Probably an entirely symbolic start, we'll most likely have a frequent rotation, whoever gets the majority of snaps will probably be entirely dependent on who gets hot

It means Pitta is a vet that scored TDs in playoffs and a SB and seems to be back to form.  I'm sure Crock isn't offended.

I'm sure Crock will get plenty of snaps as well.  They aren't going to solely play Pitta in the TE 1 , especially his first game back.

Well gotta admit I was wrong. Good call on Urschel not dressing.

I wonder why they didn't inactive Buck Allen and Henry.

I'm wondering what it really means here to "start". I wouldn't be surprised if we were doing it to some degree out of respect to Pitta. We're going to put him out there anyway, why not put him out there first as homage to what it must have taken for him to make this return. We'll roll Crockett out there and who ever is looking best will get the most snaps as the game progresses ... which may or may not be Pitta.
