[News] Most Weapons Of Joe Flacco's Career? Maybe, But He Won't Say So

31 posts in this topic

Quarterback Joe Flacco wouldn’t proclaim that he has the most weapons of his career, but he said he thinks ‘they’re pretty good’ and expects the offense to play well. Baltimore’s offensive players will have to find comfort in making plays when given (fewer) opportunities.

These guys are pros! I would think that watching the Ravens in the Victory formation at the end of a game (knowing that each played a part) would overrule personal statistics!

the better the offense is the more touches you will have to go around cuz there will be less 3 and outs and more sustained drives. For team players like we have throwing a block to get a guy open for a TD is almost as good as scoring it urself.

Just need to keep him protected now... 1. Ronnie Stanley and co... could help out there a lot. 2. Need to keep a good balance of run and pass... keeping defenses off balance and on their heels will go a long way to helping Joe. 3. Not being predictable on 1st down will also allow Joe to open up the offense a little this year.

Keep him standing and Joe will impress!

Joe doesn't want to disrespect T. Smith, Boldin, Jones, etc, who he won a SB with. He couldn't have answered any better.

Well said, brother!

There're several reasons he will never say so. The most obvious one was the one he gave. They simply haven't proven it on the field yet. The other reason is by admitting to it he creates unwanted expectations in terms of stats and not necessarily wins and he rightfully rejected that premise as well. On paper, he definitely has the best receiving talent he's ever had, but its still only on paper.

I wonder why it takes so long for pressers to be posted on the website? I think the minute a presser has ended it should be posted ASAP on the website. If it was good enough to run live, what kind of editing is needed to post it immediately? I don't really understand the technical aspects for the delay. Because in my mind, if there is no technical difficulty involved, then it should be posted immediately after the live session is complete. Especially for those that tune in late, they miss the entire presser for a few hours. Maybe BR.com can look into this and expedite posting videos immediately after the presser is finished??

I think it simply has to do with investing in the staff to get that done. Having worked in IT, when the presser is going on, someone should be also recording it in a format that they can then put right on the site. Then you need the staff to update the website to put the link out there and then to add it to the videos page. I am wondering, and I am pretty sure, the Ravens contract out their web site as part of an NFL thing. Many teams have the exact same page format as the Ravens so I think it is probably a contractual issue. In that case, that's probably why it takes so long because whoever is doing the contract for the NFL is also doing a bunch of other teams. The Ravens would have to develop their own site and not use the NFL pre-made, cookie cutter site, they would have to have staff to support it, update it, provide security, etc... It probably is just better, cheaper and best left to the professionals especially in today's world where everyone's little brother/sister is a computer genius and can hack web sites. This probably saves the Ravens a ton of headaches doing it this way though it may not suit the demand for information that us fans would like, it keeps the Ravens from hosting their own site, probably saves a good bit of money and keeps their internal computer system safe from those who can hack into the site and access the teams servers.

But I remember one of their in-depth articles on different departments having more than adequate IT staff members. But, maybe your account is actually the problem. I just hope content management efficiency improves though... there are a ton of other NFL sites that have abundant content (much more than we do) and I'm assuming that they have their own supplemental IT staff?

Joe has an "ARSENAL" and it don't make sense running up the middle or becoming predictable! But the Ravens will waste these dudes talent running up the middle and then the Defense and myself will read all their plays before they are even ran and then they expect the WRs to do miracles with lame passes too low too high or behind them etc! Before the Ravens last Super Bowl appearance count the passes and runs "BEFORE" the half! This is why I'm in favor of more passing! QB won MVP throwing that ROCK! LETS GO! WE THE BEST!

OC Trestman needs to capitalize on the fact that he has a lot of versatility on offense which can allow him to line guys up in unexpected roles to confuse the defense and catch them off guard. They need to be able to run many plays out of the same formation to really take advantage of the personnel on this roster.

I completely agree with the 1st down predictability being an issue. Seemed like a run, run, pass, run, run, pass pattern, until they got behind to become pass, pass, pass. I do feel my first point could help improve in this aspect. Just my thoughts.

it is a little alarming that our number one running back was able to clear waivers... otherwise the offense seems to be solid.

Vets don't go through waivers - that's why the FO chose Forsett to do that with.

It will be interesting to see who steps up at each position to become the starters who get the most snaps, and I'm curious to see if we are going to spread playing time and targets around to all of our skill players throughout the season. Teams don't usually give many snaps to their 5th WR, 3rd TE, and 3rd, RB, but we may be deep enough to do that. It may take some time to figure out exactly who we are as an offense and what our go to plays/packages are going to be in big moments, but I still think we have enough talent to put up plenty of points while we are figuring it out.

fusuymada makes a good point, but I also think they might mess with the audio a little bit. Just doing things like cleaning it up and make it a little louder. Yesterday I tried to listen to Joe and Steve while I was at work and it was hard to hear their answers and impossible to hear the questions. But today I went back and listened to most of Steve's presser and i had no problem understanding everyone.

Man, Joe does have some scary weapons this year. Who knows it's the best weapons that Joe ever had but l do know it is the the fastest reciever core he's had. We got lots of speed at Wr for sure. I would be worried for other teams. ?

Don't listen to it. It would only make us better. I'm glad they underestimate us. They will be in for a shock. ?

Waivers? I thought he was released. He could have signed with another team but chose the Ravens.

man those greg mattison years were brutal. Hopefully with a better unit of pass rushers and safeties Pees will fell more comfortable playing the CBs close to the line of scrimmage

This is all just puffing. It is like when a guy wants to sell you his car and says it was only driven by a little old lady on Sunday. It means nothing. Everyone looks great on paper, before the season starts. We will see real quick whether or not the Ravens offense is what the media is telling everyone it is.

I know we have many weapons on paper. Let's just hope it's high quality paper with their names embossed in cursive and not scrolled in crayon on TP.

This EXACT same headline has been posted on this site for the last five years. Give it a rest. Just like ALL the prediction articles, it only leads to severe disappointment. Play solid ball, beat the Bills, and move on. If they don't start out with a victory over Buffalo at home, it's gonna be a long season.

FINALLY get to see Perriman. That alone is exciting! But having all these 'weapons' some proven (and returning from IR) and some not yet proven will make for an interesting opener ...and season. GO RAVENS!
