[News] Late For Work 9/8: Here's Why Joe Flacco Will Make The Pro Bowl This Year

26 posts in this topic

The Ravens tried to trade Tyrod Taylor before he hit free agency. Elvis Dumervil’s absence limits the pass rush and puts more pressure on Terrell Suggs. Rex Ryan says Ed Reed may be a head coach within five years. The NFL keeps getting younger, and John Harbaugh says it’s a problem.

Wish we had Ed Reed coaching for us. Joey Porter went back to Pittsburgh to coach, I'm wondering why Reed didn't. I bet it had something to do with Ozzie & Harbaugh not bringing him back to retire as a Raven. They better do whatever it takes to get Ray Lewis back in the building coaching for us.

I think coaching is the last thing Ray Lewis wants to do. I really don't see Ed Reed as a head coach, either. It's one thing to be popular and able to motivate people; it's something else entirely to be able to manage an entire organization.

We'll see.

Ed Reed DID retire as a Raven. There was a press conference and all.

Ray Lewis has said on many occasions that he does NOT want to coach.

Not sure about the pro bowl ( certainly could be another alternate) but I could almost guarantee that if he plays 16 games he will throw for over 4500 yards and over 30 TDs. That said I dont see any of our receivers surpassing 1000k yards. We will be spreading the ball around too much.

I read the "Oral History" of the Ravens a week or so ago.  I had no idea half that stuff went on.. and a near plane crash?  What the Ravens overcame was a miracle!

I hope Justin Tucker doesn't set an NFL record for most FG attempts this season; that would be totally deflating.

Wouldn't mind him setting the record for most extra points attempted though...

I think Ed Reed becoming an assistant coach has more to do with Rex Ryan convincing him to come coach with him then him actually wanting to be an assistant coach.

Does anybody other than the players who get a bonus give a whatever about the two hand touch football game they call the Pro Bowl? Oops, forgot the betting line crowd.

Hey Ravens the most important thing is to win this game against the Bills somehow. This is perhaps the most important game of the season because it sets up confidence levels for a young franchise with a lot of rookie and 2nd year starters. It sets up a winning culture which can be infectious. The pre-season wins were important, but this game is critically important. Coaches need to figure out the best game plan and the players need to execute it to perfection. Good luck and God speed Ravens!

After coming off a 5-11 season and fielding 2 rookies on the left side and 1 rookie from last year playing his first game as a receiver can you blame me? I'm just a paranoid and fearful fan. Not to mention that 5 of our most experienced players in Flacco, Forsett, SSS, Suggs coming off season ending injuries and Pitta not having played a down since 2014!

If Flacco throws for over 4500 yds and over 30 TDs, those sound like pro bowl numbers to me.

Well, we'll get to check out some of our young pass rushers with Doom being out. Za'darius Smith can hopefully step his game up to the next level. He definitely has shown good potential. And it will be interesting to see how much action Judon get's to see...but i'm hoping Doom get's healthy and can be a difference maker this year.

Should be but we all know how people like to under rate our guys and how the "big name" qbs such as Brady , Rodgers, Brees, etc. usually get in by default.

Ray's loving watching his sons play ball.

Joe Flacco is going to the Super Bowl! Not the pro bowl! The run game will be fine I just want to see my QB get down like I know he can! HE THE BEST!

Barring too many injuries I think we are going to re-enter the golden age we had going since '08, and yeah Flacco is gonna be like a kid in a candy-store this year (I hope).

What is it with all these predictions? When are people going to learn? It OOZES bad karma, and BACKFIRES, leaving a lot of disappointed fans and thousands of second guessers, just like the last three years. Too many people here drink WAY too much Purple KoolAid, or are insane. We ALL know THAT definition, don't we.
Flacco will make the Pro Bowl. 1) If the Ravens aren't in the SB. 2) Doesn't have an injury relapse. 3) He's fourth alternate again. 4) Ravens finish 5-11 again, or worse. I see predictions of 4500 yards and 30 TD's. If that happens, it means Ravens are usually losing. If Flacco has those stats, it will come with 20 picks, a 58 completion percentage and his lifetime QB rating of the all impressive, elite 83%. If it hasn't happened in eight years, it ain't gonna happen. Insane!
Here's my hope. NO STINKIN PREDICTIONS! Raven's and Joe play solid ball, get some breaks, and beat the Bills at home. NEED a win at home! Then move on to next week.

Any one of us could write this same article with our "predictions". I hope Joe has a Pro Bowl year, but I wouldn't bet money on it. All this claptrap about his current corps of receivers is just fluff. We will find out real soon.
Ed Reed, an NFL coach? Not on my team. It is not that he isn't knowledgeable, or savvy, he is a loose cannon that no one can control.
Tyrod Taylor is not all that, but he is better than what he showed here his last two years. He never got the chance to play with any regularity, even when the game was decided. Harbaugh kept Flacco in. Just crazy. Then he says he wishes he could have kept Taylor. Baloney.
