Which TE will be most productive?

I hope it's Maxx but am having doubts. Even if he's not in the best shape of his life right now, he's got great hands, is a good blocker, and makes good contested catches. I think Crockett's hands aren't great, and he's a much better block while I am afraid Pitta gets hurt again.

Crockett with more experience is the most logical

It's really going to come down to who is healthy. I think they cancel eachother out and are pretty even.

Hands- Crocket<Maxx<Pitta

Blocking- Pitta<Maxx<Crocket

Playmaking after the catch- Pitta<Crocket<Maxx

Chemistry with Joe- Maxx<Crocket<Pitta

to me there's no clear favorite. Who is going to stay healthy is the question.

Interesting you give Maxx the edge on playmaking after the catch, must be the propensity to hurdle ppl, I'd say Crockett showed good truck sticking ability after the catch last year and Pitta is just deceptively sneaky.

I'm going with Maxx too. I think a Heath Miller type of TE can thrive on the Ravens. As for Gilmore, I think his biggest problem is that he doesn't really reach out for the catch. Despite his size and arm length, he has a relatively small catching window. Any jump ball is just going to go over him.

I agree on Crocket. He's a real hassle to bring down. I think Maxx is faster and quicker and has better instincts as a ball carrier.

Edit: I actually think the hurdle is often unnecessary. It's more flashy than effective imo

If he can maintain health it will without a doubt be Pitta. That's not to slight the others, he and Joe just click.

I'm new to this board even though I  look and read all the comments everyday so hello everybody but pitta will be most productive if healthy but I also think max might have a good year in redzone

Dissapointed in Maxx.   He should've worked hard this offseason, instead he is as fat as he was @ draft.   He is slow and picking him as #1 TE feels like a waste.

He needs to go all in and step up to become our starter this season.  Not wasting 3rd year hoping he has 'some potential'.   Done with 4th year 'prove it then get paid' players from here on.

Actually I believe it was Ryan Mink who said in a video during the offseason it was noticable how Maxx was often at the facility training hard and losing some baby weight. Last year he didn't look like an NFL player but he trained hard this offseason.

Maybe I'm wrong tho

I say pitta if healthy is our best option best hands and definitely the sharpest of them. Anyone watch the "a football life" with the Ravens win in super bowl over 49ers. There was a play where pitta was In The endzone and cut his route short to stay in the soft spot of the coverage and as soon as he did Joe was already throwing him the ball. Joe goes on to say he was hoping he was gonna do it and as soon as he thought it pitta was doing it. They click. (Not sure if it was "a football life" or just a play in playoffs)

Not sure how you give playmaking after the catch to Maxx. Crockett taking half the raiders into the end-zone says otherwise.

The Raiders secondary was awful last season. Plenty of people looked good against that secondary.

I think Pitta will be used more like a possession receiver in the slot, whereas Gillmore will probably play more downs as a traditional TE since he can block and catch.

Agree re the hurdle - actually wish they'd use a spin move instead, feet are still on the ground and they can keep churning for extra yards - once they're in the air lose all drive

I wonder how pitta has looked in practice since returning- anybody heard anything? Hopefully that finger is healed up and he picks up where he left off. Now we just need to get back DOOM. he was taken off the pup and then stopped practicing. We need him Sunday badly-hope he back on the practice feild by tommorow.

As far as the tight ends I think pitta will be more productive stat wise but crock will do more of the dirty work. Maxx Is a complete wildcard for me and I have no idea what to expect.

Yeah that bugs me about him, it always gets a big gasp and has mostly worked but I'm just waiting for when it goes really wrong

I think the tight end with the most receptions and total yards will be the most productive.

But what do I know?

Mink and Downing are terrible about over hyping. Although if I could I would choose either one of them to replace Hensely

Crockett was looking almost Gronk-esque on a few catches last year and being the best blocker of the three gets him on the field a little more than Dennis and Maxx in single TE sets IMO. I think he is in for the biggest year of the three if he can stay healthy but that has been the issue with all three players so really any one of them may end up with the biggest season stat wise on that factor alone.

If pitta is healthy I think it's him. I won't give the edge to maxx over Crockett because I haven't seen him play yet but I find Crockett to be overrated, he's a very spikey player, if he controls his clumsiness he can be a real weapon but until then he's gonna be inconsistent.

I'm gonna say pitta>maxx=crockett

Isn't that the Idea... As much as I love Pitta.  I like Crockett for now.

I agree. Out of all three of them, it seems like the world is ending when Hensley writes something negative about the Ravens.

He's grown up in this area and has covered the team for as long as I can remember. He typically writes his articles with massively dark purple shades on.
