This is the cut that hurts the most imo, if this guy becomes a solid starter we can only blame ourselves, we saw all the signs. Hope Devin Hester is worth it

I still think we need ILBer help, just not comfortable with that situation...Not sure why we wouldn't take a look at Manny Lawson who was a starter for the Bills....

Everything in life is a gamble.....You have to make the decision and hope for the best. You won't win every time and spilled milk just doesn't work

I'm kinda happy for Butler because he wasn't getting a chance here. If given a chance in TB he will shine. That guy has great hands. Gotta feeling we'll be hearing Victor Ochi's name in the future too.

Looks like a good group of guys, don't be surprised if Onwuasor makes the team next year or gets called up at some point this year. He looks like everything you'd want out of an ace special teamer, athletic and likes to hit - can't go wrong with that.

i can see why OCHI and BUTLER signed with other teams,so they can actually play.it's terrible because both will be stars in this league, just on other teams,i'm still very mad about BROOKS as well.

You have to be happy for both Butler and Ochi. They both get to continue their dream of becoming an NFL player on an active roster.....and they both get to play on a practice squad close to both of their home towns. Butler is from Sarasota, FL and Ochi is from The Bronx in New York.

personally,i would of cut PERRIMAN and kept BUTLER,you'll say i'm stupid but you'll see,we will be lucky to get 4 games a year out of PERRIMAN and BUTLER will be on the field way more!

Happy Ravens are hanging on to Reynolds, Brown, and Onwassor, but really disappointed that Ochi went elsewhere. Remember James Harrison?

yeah and HARRISON made us pay dearly for not keeping him, every single game,OCHI will be a star in this league, this sucks.

That's quite a foolish statement. Perriman is gonna make a lot of ppl eat their words this season.

Anybody know if Johnson got picked up anywhere yet? I know he's not PS eligible unfortunately.

Extremely disappointed we let Terrence Brooks go...

You won't get far in the NFL as a safety if your covering skills are poor.

You see the future?

Also... if we need a WR, we can sign Butler any time from the Bucs' PS.

He was at about #6 on the depth chart. Any player at #6 on the depth chart is essentially a special teams player about 95% of his playing time. We, fans make the mistake of judging Butler solely based on his receiving skills - which are indeed good. But what do we remember of Butler as a special teamer?

Dude it's stupid. I would never do that. Perriman gonna be a beast just watch.

lmao that would've been a move that would've cost you your job as a GM on any NFL team. Butler is good don't get me wrong but I think you're putting to much into him.Get rid of a 1st Rd draft pick for a practice squad player? Did we draft him? I don't think we did but even still perriman is going to be a problem in this league. Especially in our division.

Harrison didn't do anything until he started taking steroids. No one ever mentions that he was cut by Pittsburgh too (twice). Look it up. He was with the Ravens briefly, went to NFL Europe...likely found some HGH and whatever steroids...and then was a completely different player when he returned for another shot in Pittsburgh.

if any injuries come up at the WR spot we can easily snatch Butler off the Bus PS, and that goes really for any player off a teams PS, they just have to stay on the 53 man roster for at least 3 weeks....

You do realize they are on other teams' practice squads, right? If the Ravens think they can help us, they can sign them (or anyone else) off of any practice squad in the league. That person then has to be on the 53-man active roster though, not the practice squad.

It just kills me because he's a very good tackler and has speed that you just can't buy. (4.4)

he got hurt his first 2 years and really didn't get enough chances to improve. I really don't like this one. I think there's a story behind this cut that we don't know yet.

did I mention his salary is like peanuts so the only holdup was a roster spot or some undiscosed reason...

I'm not upset with our depth at OLB  and SLB with Suggs and Dumervil returning.  We have Smith, McClelland, Judon, and Carter off of the bench.  The big question will be whether or not Pitta can make it through the season without injury.  Our TE position is pretty thin until Waller returns after his 4 game suspension. Crockett and Williams will need to catch more passes if Pitta goes down.  Keeping Reynolds on the practice squad gives us another option at emergency QB behind David Fales.  Before you laugh, remember how Navy pulled a 3rd string QB out of the stands yesterday in their game.

You also need safeties that can come down hill to support the run. Keep in mind Ravens won a Superbowl facing Luck, Brady, and Manning, with Pollard who was not a great cover safety. He intimidated guys coming across the middle. His hit on Ridley turned the tide, he put Gronk on the shelf on a couple of occassions. Safeties also MUST be physical. A young , physical safety like Brooks should have been retained over excessive depth at LB with Chris Carter or 7 CBs. Two ingredients that the Ravens had with each Superbowl team was a physical blocking FB and a knock out safety.
