Ravens Practice Squad Signings

All players clear waivers at 12PM today as opposed to the traditional 24 hour period, and practice squads can begin being formed at 1PM.  Although there probably won't be any official announcements until late today or sometime tomorrow, there will still be tons of reports of who we sign.

It was reported yesterday by Zrebiec (among others) that we'd like to retain Keenan Reynolds, Daniel Brown, Blaine Clausal, Brennen Beyer, and Julian Wilson on the PS.  Although not reported, you'd have to imagine that Ravens would also like to have Matt Skura, Patrick Onwuasor, and Victor Ochi back as well.

Feel free to post when there are reports of signings.  Usually theres a mad rush of news at 1PM.

I think he's gonna be really good and will be promoted to active roster before this year is over with.

can't blame him. did everything asked by ravens and still not on roster. ofc, the fact that we are deep on wrs didn't help though

i think ochi is going to blossom on the jets.

We'll look back on this one with regret. Correa will be out of the league in a couple of years and ochi will be that undrafted guy who makes it.

If I was him I wouldn't resign with us neither. Gotta better chance in Tampa.

Would like to see Ochi ans Onwauser resigned. Both these guys got serious talent

I think this was a foregone conclusion. I don't think Reynolds wanted to move away from home, honestly, and this was a good situation for him. He's close to Annapolis and can still do Naval work if necessary. This is a win-win for him.

I'm not surprised and don't blame him since the likelihood he can get on the 53 isn't great here with the guys ahead of him, however, we could always call him back up onto our 53, so there's that. He's not on someone's 53 roster.

I suspect that will be the case. They can always come to our 53, but they're not on someone else's 53. The only downside is that those teams can activate them [Ochi, Butler] to prevent us from claiming them off their practice squads. That's the only hitch, really.

What has to be remembered is that we are talking about Practice Squad guys here. What is the likelihood of PS guys being activated and making a impact on the 53 outside of injuries happening? I think it's more important to have these guys still in house and develop them under your system. Also PS guys are used to give you looks in practice of other teams. Even though QB won't be his position at all, Reynolds will probably give the Ravens defense a lot of good looks in practice as he simulates the escapability of Tyrod in practice. 

But again over the last 5 years or so, how many guys have been promoted from the PS and actually contributed to the team? Butler last year and who else? I honestly can't remember. So it'll hurt losing some guys and they'll be a ton of excitement over signing guys from other teams like Renner last year, no matter how you put it, we're still talking about guys who aren't NFL ready.

Agreed. I still don't get why? Ochi is understandable because he may be closer to home but Butler?

Much easier path to the 53 in TB.  WRs 3-5 are Russell Shepard, Evan Spencer, and Adam Humphries.

So far 3 are signing with our PS. Reynolds, Brennan and Daniel Brown. 7 more to go. I hoped both Ochi and Butler had signed here, but I haven't heard Ochi being offered a spot on our PS. Has somebody heard that? I know Butler refused our offer but Ochi?

Imagine working with Devin Hester on the finer points of the return game. Reynolds being the sponge that he is will greatly benefit this year learning from Hester.

I'm not sure that's the case. I'm not even sure it's because he has a better chance to get activated in Tampa. From what I understand from a tweet I read, I think he went to Tampa also because he's originally from FL and his family lives close-ish to Tampa. That may have been a driving factor for him. Maybe TB never came calling before and he chose to stick around here because the Ravens were the only ones he liked that gave offered him a spot on the PS? Perhaps this is the first time he's gotten a call from TB. We won't know the real story unless Butler decides to leak it one day, but I think it wasn't bad but I have no idea.
