[News] Ravens Trim 2016 Roster To 53 Players

What the hell is wrong with Campanraro, he's so weak and fragile. All he does is get hurt and collects a check. He's useless. Why is he even on IR anyway, we never heard about him getting injured?

I guess giving up a pick to the Cleveland Clowns to draft the injury-prone Campanaro has a story behind it that it has yet to be revealed. He is a MD native too so he must know somebody because he's been collecting checks for a while now lol

I understand that it´s hard to compare positions, but how we can keep Hurst over Brooks or Butler is beyond me. But I´m sure there´s some other plan in place. Some moves to be expected I guess.

It might be because we don't have another backup LT. We have options if one of our WRs or safeties gets injured, but Hurst is really the only backup LT we have.

Kept camp over butler and elm over brooks what are they thinking. Another year of suckery due to injuries. Hate to say it but pitta wont make it halfway through the season.

I know, it´s just frustrating that we have to let some really good players go for below average cover at other positions...

You sure about that? What does that mean exactly? That they talked to him and convinced him not to sign elsewhere, which he can control, whereas the younger guys just get picked on waiver, out of their control?

Yes.

Camp isnt gone, he is just on the IR, so that was just like cutting a player, counts the same , but technically he is still on the Ravens

After reading all these comments, I'd just like to add the following: This team was 5-11 last year. Yes, there were injuries - lots of them - and it showed that our backups were not up to par. Now, I look at the roster as it is after the cuts, and I see no position where the team does not have multiple options (in many cases, better options).

Forsett is an example. Yes he got cut, but 1) each of the other RBs has shown the necessary capabilities (run, catch passes, pick up blockers, etc.) and 2) RB is an example of a position in which an inexperienced, but naturally talented youngster can succeed early on in the NFL.

That having been said, I will assume that the coaching staff has picked the best 53 out of the original 90 while the FO will be watching the other teams' cuts to fill any holes.

I remember that a 5-11 record meant that they had to make drastic changes (not just superficial ones) - and watching the four games, reading the articles, etc., it looks like they did what they wanted to do: the team got younger, faster and more physical.

With more moves to come I believe The front office is holding on to a few expendable players in exchange for a few Free agent Players Cut from other teams, Just Sit tight and let the next week play itself out, The OZ is busy at work

I'm not a football expert, or a coach but I feel like camp should have been cut. Butler take his place. Terrence brooks should be on the team. This team is scared of a hard hitting safety. Mabye I'm wrong.

Let's defer to the coaching staff - the professionals who see more than we do (and can see the possibilities better than we can).

It's okay to disagree with them, they are not infallible.

but lets wait for their decisions play out before panning them for it - there were always gonna be players we liked getting cut - so there will always be questions but lets not suggest that as fans we have more answers than them... at least until they're proved wrong

The reason why i am miffed about Brooks is because he could play safety, and CB and has 4.40 speed. Also you just never know if Webb will miss games, and i much rather of had Brooks as the backup Safety than Kendrick Lewis....Plus Lewis has missed a lot of practices and pre-season games......JMO....

I would have kept Brooks over Lewis but I think that had more to do with the big contract they gave Kendrick and there might be dead money. I havent been impressed by him at all, at least when Brooks has played I can see a guy who wants to get better. He to me should have made it over Price. Shoot can you imagine getting hit by him on special teams!? Butler is another guy, I honestly don't have any confidence that the 5 guys we did keep will stay healthy. We shall see but on paper we might have the worst wr corps in the league. Only saying that because we don't know what Mike Wallace we will get and we have two rookies. Breshad is a rookie and been injured too much and Moore I havent even seen the kid make plays in the preseason. What the heck are we doin. Of and yeah Sr. ain't gonna play right away either I can gurantee you that.

True but too many on this forum (myself included) often place our preferences before the Coaching staff and FO. Ours doesn't count! LOL

OLB Chris Carter made the team over Ochi and Brooks. Idk about all that. Sheldon Price and Carter are not better then a number of these guys.

Cutting Butler was a huge fumble, and not trading Johnson to a QB needing team (Cowboys etc...) was idiotic.

you cant trade a qb nobody wants to trade for - especially when they know you're going to cut him anyway

He will never make it through waivers. Watch and see.
