[News] Ravens' 2016 Roster Cutdown Rumor Mill

Devin Hester is not completely incompetent as a receiver. So IF we HAD to use him there we could. No point in having what 8 receivers? Even though I would have kept butler over at least 2 of the cornerbacks currently on the roster.

Cutting Forsett only to re-sign him is just a stupid move. Either way he still takes up a roster position. So who is the odd man out now?

If the Ravens are seriously considering bringing Campanaro back when he has only shown the consistent ability to to not be out on the field, then they are suckers for paying too much for a PR man in Hester. The fact they had to go and pay someone a lot more than Campanaro should be evidence Campanaro is just not built to endure the rigors of the NFL. He has talent and skill, but that is not enough to stay on the field.

Keeping Elam on IR over Brooks is also a poor decision. Elam will most likely not play another snap this season and is not even signed for next year. Looks like Ozzie trying to get a bargain when he has to sign him, but the trouble is he really has not shown the level of play you expect from a first rounder. Yes he got better, but the fact Brooks was pressing him and in some ways outplaying Elam does not bode well moving forward.

Overall it seems Harbaugh's words about being done with projects was nothing more than empty words. What's more is that players that did makes plays got cut, another criteria coach mentions will lead to making the team. Why don't you try getting both feet in your mouth?

On paper only Ronnie Stanley figures to help boost this roster in a significant manner this season. Any other potential candidates are stuck behind lots of depth and will struggle to see the field much unless they become light out better from day 1. KC who? Apparently he only plays his heart out in the practices and goes into a shell on gameday? Kaufusi may be injured but even if he weren't where would he be playing? Behind a lot of depth and barely seeing the field.

At this point in time, IMHO, the Ravens squandered their second and third round picks. There were a lot of good players they could have taken that would have been contributors in more significant measure.

Anyone drafted in the first three rounds should be drafted to see significant game time or else they kinda fall into that "project" category.

This is definitely a team game and they have a lot of team first players, but they still need a few leaders on the squad that put some fear into opposing teams on both sides of the ball. As of right now, those players are climbing in age and are not the same type of threat they used to be. How about drafting some or are you too scared to have strong voices in the locker room Harbs? The locker room purge from a few seasons ago is complete and now we see a team with very little personality out on the field. Guess Harbs forgot the effect of strong team leaders in big games and big moments. Harbs your best seasons have all come under playing with strong team leaders and as you saw to it they were a thing of the past so too has you coaching record been affected. When are you going to realize you cannot get away from it completely? Before or after the door closes?

You are kidding right? They go an pay a lot for PR specialist and then think he'll see significant reps at WR? Umm no, any injury then your out a PR. Hester will see mostly PR duties only, with a max of 1-2 WR reps per game. Hester was never a lights out WR, dependable yes and mostly caught short passes where he could make someone miss for some splash plays and YAC. There is enough risk of getting injured on ST plays alone.

Great points. This front office is beginning to worry me. Corea appears so over matched that he is going to make Arthur Brown look like a pro bowler yet they passed on much better NFL talents to pick him. That story about if you want to make the roster, go make plays: it's so hilarious looking back at it now. Next time coach please wink when you say that.
