I would think that signing an expensive LG would violate Ozzie's 80/20 rule. Lewis or Urschel can probably give you 80% of the performance for 20% of the price. We don't have a pro bowl caliber LG(unless Lewis can surprise us) but we have a capable starter and good depth, so I don't see a reason to spend a lot of money there.

Yeah - I think it is going to depend on how expensive he becomes. He's an FA so he'll be wooed by a number of teams, so this won't likely happen quickly. He's going to want to hear what bids are out there for him.

Still, we've been starting Lewis because Urschel has been hurt. I don't know how comfortable we are with starting a rookie or a guy who's had very limited time as a starter next to another rookie ... not if they can help it.

I do agree, there are other positions where we'd probably prefer to spend the money (secondary) but is there anyone worth getting?

We should've got Antonio Cromartie when we had the chance. Darn.

What are they doing cutting Brooks, Butler , and Campanero? Oh wait.. They will sign Hester. Whew??

I really want Cordarrelle Patterson as our returner if they want a returner. He's only 25 and will be better with us than the Vikings. Hester is getting up at age and probably not quick as he once was. I remember Cordarrelle had 2 two kick off returns against us on the snow in Baltimore but still manage to win at the end. I believe he could be a playmaker for us and returner because we have Joe. I would even trade Josh Johnson for Cordarrelle Patterson if they want a trade. Release would be even better. ?

Well l guess l spoke to soon. The Eagles agree to trade Sam Bradford to the Vikings for a 2017 first round pick and a 2018 fourth round pick. So the trade Josh Johnson for Cordarrelle Patterson won't likely work.

Nothing personal against steve smith but Butler has a totally bigger upside for this year and .....for the future of our team....The gm failed the team here.....at least camp is finally out.....liked him but not durable enough for this game.....

Butler is a poor mans Kamar Aiken. Nothing special about that guy. He does nothing especially well.

Can someone tell me WTH is ozzie DOING?! Elam and lewis didn't play better than brooks the whole preseason!

Yeah weird. They could've cut Elam, Kendrick Lewis, and even James Hurst. That's three guys right there.

Im alright with the Forsett move I just feel bad for the guy. Its going to be hard for him to get on another team. He may have to hang up the cleats

Wow, I am a little blind-sided today..... Justin Forsett, Terrence Brooks, and Jeremy Butler. I kind of understand Butler, but having a bit more difficult time with Forsett and Brooks...... I hope they find another team that needs them (just not any in our division) ??

Ian Rapp on NFLN.... Ravens cut Justin Forsett???????

My son texted this to me earlier, absolutely  heartbroken ?.  I know we have depth at the position, but  seriously? Justin has more than earned his spot, and after last year, when all he wanted was a longterm deal, and gave up money to stay, I was sure he was a lock. I'm just flabbergasted,  don't know what else to say.

I believe its their plan to bring him back once he clears waivers., but yea, that was a shocker.

Can you blame Butler for going to the Tampa Bay "Bucs' practice squad instead of the Ravens?? The guy gave his all and still didn't make the 53 man squad. He deserved it. They keep Campanaro, whom is great "when he plays". But the guy is on the IR again and now apparently won't be used for punt/kick returns, since they brought in Hester for kick/punt returns. I don't think Butler is happy with the Ravens org. right now, and I don't blame him.

Justin Forsett was the man but to keep it real this is a young mans game and he was at the end of a great career and it will be great if they can pull some strings and come back but we have to one day go younger and why not today we have some good young guys give them a chance to shine when have way into the season come if they are doing good everyone will forget all about Forsett ask Justin Tucker about Cundif

Given his status as a vet with 4 or more years, he doesn't need to clear waivers. Vets who are cut are immediately free agents. Any team that would be interested in him could make a play for him. At least that's my understanding of the situation.

I am happy for Butler. This game is about making plays, and he has consistently made plays. I wish him success.

Shame that Butler ( Tampa) and Ochi (Jets) went elsewhere, but their opportunities are greater with those respective teams.
More than happy that Reynolds is staying, where he can grow in to what can be a dynamite WR/RB/RS Player.
Let's see how the remaining spots are filled out and who loses a spot with Hester coming in and Forsett supposedly coming back in a couple of weeks, or sooner. I'm assuming they will re-sign him after Week 1 games.
Always a fluid situation now that the number is at 53.

With Steve Smith coming off Achilles injury and Perriman's history, one would think that they would have kept Butler. Even signing Hester does not address the receiver issue. Hester is not a good WR. If either Perriman and or Smith gets injured, we're quickly back to last year. It has become the norm in the last few years for this organization to be scrambling in mid season for a problem that should have been solved in the preseason.

I think we would still be fine if Perriman, or SSS goes down, big reason why signed Wallace, and drafted Moore, and Aiken who can play the slot WR, has a solid inside, outside game....

Ravens got the 10 PS players plus Butler and Ochi are still available to us if the need arises, though we'd have to poach them from another team's PS.

Actually we have Wallace and Moore as contingency plans this go round. Plus several pass rushers if suggs or doom goes down. They've got plan B C and D this time.

That would not be a problem - if we needed either, the need would be on the 53-man roster, not the PS anyway. And, since they both know tha playbook, they could go plugn-n-play.

If history has taught us anything though, it's that such released players are seldom, if ever, are brought back. And we can only hope they won't: it would mean something happened to someone currently on the roster... And, sorry, but there's no pass rusher I would like to see injured so a need for Ochi arises... or any of our pass catchers so Butler's suddenly needed...

Plus, if two of the Pitta - Gillmore - Williams remain healthy (plus Waller from week #4), Flacco will have a nice range of targets - and then we haven't even mentioned the backs: both Forsett and Buck allen are excellent pass catchers.
