Brooks is WAY more of a surprising cut than Butler. Brooks figured to be 4th on the depth chart and seemed like a lock to me once Elam got hurt.

I guess they like Levine's versatility and figure he can be the 4th or maybe even 3rd guy. Was a playmaker all preseason.

Can't forget the tight ends as well since generally they  are like possesion receivers. Kamar Aiken hasn't had issue staying healthy for The Ravens in the past two years so it's not to far fetch to call him reliable. Chris Moore has potential to be more than a one trick pony and Breshad Perriman is first round pick .

Lewis returned to practice today. He and a bunch of other injured players, like Pitta, have been cleared for week 1 I believe.

I thought we had already decided to waive/injury settlement Elam, but maybe that's not the case. Think it has more to do with confidence in Levine. I think he's getting more of a role in this defense than we suspect.

He's not officially a Raven, but we're certainly working it out to sign him and put him on the roster.

I'm not surprised by anything except for Butler. Thought he did enough to make the team but with BP returning and looking solid in limited action, guess we could afford to cut him.

I agree with that. We've given numerous other round 3 draft picks a lot longer a chance to get it together and prove themselves. To give up on him at this point is a little surprising.

i think it means he gets paid a settlement or something to be cut - essentially just means he doesnt go to ir i think
