The final cuts

He seems to have failure after failure lately.  To blindly say "In Ozzie we trust" why even have a message board.

I would have kept Butler.  If you aren't going to keep players who play well why even have play pre-season games?

Agreeing - our draft record of late hasn't been stellar - interesting to look at our level of players listed in the Top 100 - I know these list are bs most the time but we had 1 player listed - Yanda, were not sending people to the Pro Bowl like we used to - people might argue the merits of it and it's a team game but it's still a reflection of talent - ours seems to be diminishing.

No General Manager is perfect but we keep touting in Ozzie We Trust - with blind faith and anybody who speaks out or questions gets negged off the boards.

Kendrick Lewis, Arrington, Watson, early but I'll throw Powers in - he may come good - we all pat Ozzie on the back and say shrewd signing - In Ozzie We Trust, when they don't work out - Lewis is a back up most want gone, Arrington on IR do we didn't have to cut him, Watson never played a snap, in the last 3 years the decent signings I can think of were Forsett & Daniels who Kubiak brought in, Zuttah but we had to endure a year of Gino first, Smith but we had to endure having mediocre receivers for a year first - seem to be very reactionary not proactive - classic example we're looking at bringing 33 yr old Devin Hester.

Anybody comes back and question those signings, or the recent whiffing on draft picks combined with our recent  record and again you get negged off the board.

Lot of one sided conversation, think people need to take the purple glasses off sometimes.

Im hoping now that we've freed up a bit of salary cap space and hopefully added a few young pieces were moving back in the right direction but if 2 of the last 3 years have been ugly - I think it's fair to question decisions made at the top.

Well, atleast we didn´t give a 1st and then some for Sam Bradford. Not happy about some of the cuts, but like I stated before, there was no room. There was 57 players I would really have liked to keep.

he was a probowler and second team allpro in his first year... one down year and you've decided he's only solid

not only that but he's the first rookie raven (linebackers included) to make a probowl

I wouldn't even say he had a down year in his sophomore campaign. Dude still balled out

So I come into this thread to see any discussion on the Forsett cut (and others) and it's become a typically bogged down Ozzie bash-fest that makes it inpossible to read the actual discussion.

SMH.

I don't know why people are freaking out about Forsett. He's a solid with some heart, but its not like he was all world. With out questionable line situation I'm not sure he's the ideal starter anyway.

Wouldn't it be easier to just get behind those left on the team than complaining about other things?

It sure would be but where’s the fun in that?

It's honestly getting to the point where I'm just as annoyed at the people who respond defending Ozzie as I am at the "usual suspects". Kinda defeats the purpose of an ignore list if other people are going to keep responding.

i imagine the vikings were talking to a lot of people - of course they'd want bradford ahead of mallet or johnson (albeit probably not for that cost) it might simply have been that they were talking to us before they realised bradford was available

Some of us cannot "ignore".

Bradford had worked with their coaches or coordinators before

Oh, and from the past three years. Wagner is a good tackle, Urschel is a good player, Crockett was also another nice find in the third round, Buck Allen is a good recieving back which has a lot of value in today's league and he got him in the fourth, Jucie is a nice utility weapon that for some reason we don't seem to use correctly(though he is a good player), and that's not getting into this draft, where Stanley looks great, Judon looks good, Moore looks good, Dixon looks great, and Alex Lewis looks like he's going to be a solid NFL player one day. And we haven't gotten to Bronson Kaufausi who was a pretty good player in college who suffered an unfortunate injury.

No GM is perfect, and while Ozzie has had his slip ups recently, he's had pretty good picks to go with it. The 2016 NFL draft may go on to define us for the next 6+ years. As Dixon, Lewis and Stanley, are the future of the offense in all liklihood while Moore, Judon and Kaufausi could go on to be starters if not now then in the future.

So yes, I still trust Ozzie with his judgement. He's had a few slip ups, but we're still on the right track.

Give this team 2-3 years. We could be dangerous

All I'm reading is a lot of good and nice - you need top end talent, a handful to be in the upper echelon. Ray, Suggs, Ngata, Reed, Rice - this level of talent needs to be replenished - it would be near on impossible to replace - I completely get that but you need to be hitting on your top end picks to at least sniff replacing that level of talent - our late round work and the fact we have a top tier QB is keeping us from being cellar dwellers but we keep completely whiffing on picks in the first 3 rounds and or even not turning up pro bowl level talent were going to be mediocre to picking top 5 a whole lot more.

Yup, I prefer the real world..sport and the corrupt netowrk it operates in would never be my line of work. I enjoy sport in its essence, skill etc..nothing else.

You'd be ran out of Baltimore in less than a second with some of your ideas. We'd be the new Browns

Dare say, the roster is a direct reflection of the GM's handiwork hence the discussion of said GM

but how can you judge a gm's decisions before they come either good or bad

at least wait until the regular season before you pass judgement

I never knew things like cutting carl davis and james hurst would be considered horrible? lol.in all seriousness I'd never take a job within the corporate structure. I'm a nature man and I have no interest in statist values so it would never be for me :)

12pm tomorrow is when you'll see who cleared and who didn't.  At 1pm teams can start forming practice squads.

And to expand on this, @ellicottraven I was wrong on the IR rules.  Elam is eligible to return if he's placed on IR after 4pm tomorrow, so I suspect he'll go then.

It's not 24 hours for the final cut period, but is for everything else.  Waivers ends at 12pm tomorrow.
