Bye camp

Welp bye camp and Reynolds (to PS)

Depends on if Hestor looks good in his work out. He's coming off a foot injury and is 30 + years old.

Yeah but I still think this is a good indicator that Campanaro has not looked good this year. Also Reynolds rarely got snaps during preseason and has struggled. I bet Reynolds is put on the practice squad. I think the writing is on the wall for Campanaro.

Campanaro did have some PR and KR but I just dont see point in keeping him. He isnt that good at either and he finished pre season with 1 grab for 3 yard and a rush for 11 yards.

That could be true.I never really view Camp as the ideal fit at kick returner. He has health concerns and The Ravens dont really have any solid back up options. So checking out Hestor now could be seen as  them being safe than sorry..

I don't think they keep Johnson for week 1 because that would mean his salary is guaranteed for the year.  If the intention is to let him go, they're going to do it now and let him latch on elsewhere.

Can anybody confirm this? I do think its a good idea to keep him to practice for tyrod a rg3 who we face week 1 and 2.  But if his salary is guaranteed that throws a wrench in things. Although it cant be that much. Do we hold them both for trade bait? Tough call here as they've both impressed. Johnson has provided a spark Everytime he's takin the feild but he's also been up against the 2nd and 3rd team.

I have been saying this for awhile.  As much as I wanted him to succeed here, while he has shown some flashes, but he couldn't stay healthy and has been sub-par during the preseason.  After a certain point you have to cut ties and wish him the best.

Campanaro wasn't targeted much in preseason but in practice he's been one of Joe's favorite targets. Plus he's our best slot WR after Steve Smith and primary punt returner. I think that counts for something.

Kind of hard to say whether he's even a decent slot receiver, since he's never on the field to play it.

If he makes this team, I'm banking on practically zero contributions from an offensive standpoint. Would be almost purely as a kick returner. If he catches 10 balls all season I'd be surprised.

I'm on the Cut Campanaro Bandwagon.
Don't see him with value considering Moore has looked better, Butler has looked better.
I'm in agreement that Reynolds hasn't looked spectacular as a returner, but no worse than Campanaro in my opinion.
I still think a Punt retuner will be available as a free agent anyway.

Here's a potential roster wrinkle for Ravens: free agent kick returner Devin Hester worked out for team today, per sources.

Finally the team has seen the light.....

Interesting that all the Campanaro fans are silent?

I don't think Hester is the answer though.....

Another option is Cordarrelle Patterson is rumored to be a possible cut from Vikings. Already a more accomplished returner, always healthy, and a better receiver than Campanaro.

Ravens sure are taking their sweet time with the roster reduction. Can't blame them though. They're going to be cutting some good players.

They at least need to wait until the deadline for "You Pick the Team". Expect the news tomorrow throughout the day.

I don't know - if he's the punt returner he'll be active on game days which means that if someone goes down he leaps up the depth chart.

plus it seems this coaching staff like to find ways to get him into certain games - the problem has been that when he has started to make an impact he's gone to ir

He has been discussed a lot in numerous threads recently....so I wouldn't call them silent

Yeah but there's probably going to be at least 3-4 other receivers active on gameday. So it would require like at least 2 or maybe even 3 gameday injuries for him to be relevant offensively.

He catches one pass a game that would be a productive season for him offensively. And if we need him to catch much more than that, then things have gone terribly wrong on offense.

Patterson is nowhere near the reciever Camp is. He can't run routes and isn't very smart

I think he was implying that Camp would at least hold value as a wr and a returner, rather than Patterson just being a KR

I am making a prediction that I do not like, but with the way Landry and Renner played in preseason (horrible) the Steelers will sign Josh Johnson if we cut him. Ben gets hurt a lot, so they need a good back up and that organization watches our team very closely, so they are seeing a lot of tape of Josh Johnson. It will make me sick if it happens.

The good news is Ozzie Newsome and John Harbaugh have some tough decisions to make. NFL quality players are going to be cut. I'm pulling for Jeremy Butler and Josh Johnson to make the team. Although I doubt they carry 3 QBs.

They just picked up Mettenberger.

They claimed Mettenberger off waivers, so I don't think they will have interest in Johnson. Doesn't really fit with the type of QB they want anyway.

Plus, lets pump the brakes on Josh Johnson being a "good backup". You gotta do a lot more than look good in a couple preseason games to earn that label. He's been dreadful in real games.

Good kickoff returner. He has never returned punts.

I came here hoping to see some type of updates since the app has posted any roster moves yet.  But all I've seen is a bunch of Campanaro debating lol.

I I feel like there's no reason to waste the roster spot on him, when he'll more than likely be injured within 3 weeks.

Camp has made plays against starting NFL defenses.  Including some impressive touch down grabs.  You just can't plan on him being there, I think it's sort of silly to think he's still trying to prove his talent.

137 yards and 1 TD and a 9 yard rushing TD that everyone lost their mind over,  in two NFL seasons....im sure a lot of players have put up stats like that and never played another down.  I cant tell if you were agreeing with me or not lol.

Also, about cutting Reynolds: I was very very unhappy with that pick, not just because I wanted Jakeem Grant, but it was clear he wasn't a NFL player and its not like we have a great track record of developing offensive weapons.  It just didn't make sense to me.  And it has nothing to do with him being in the Navy.

I actually think the Ravens have gotten significantly better with offensive development at skill positions since Hammock and Engram got here.
