Reserve/injured is the official designation I believe. Can't be brought back onto roster before week 7.

You don't have to designate anymore.  Although still only 1 IR player can be brought back

Exactly and I don't think Elam is the guy you would bring back off the IR. I think he's probably going to get the axe.

According to this http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2014/09/nfl_short-term_injured_reserve_how_it_works_what_it_means_to_giants_ol_geoff_schwartz.html , and not sure how reliable it is, a player must actually be noted as designated to return. Also could the Ravens just start Elam on the PUP list so that he wouldn't take up a roster spot?

PUP is only for players who did not participate in training camp practices

Rule was changed for his year.  That article is from 2014.  You don't have to designate anyone anymore.

And no on PUP.  No one is eligible once they've practiced.

Owning up and admitting I was wrong on Forsett.  Did not think they'd do that one.  Hopefully that's a good sign for Dixon's health.

Yea confused as to why Elam hasn't been sent to IR yet. Guess we'll get clarification on that. 

Dont think Brooks will be brought back judging by his Twitter post. He doesn't tweet that if the FO told him they were considering bringing him back.

I called Forsett but was way off on Brooks, which you mention him being cut early in the training camp

But didn't see this at all. Thought for sure with camp and butler cut we'd be keeping the RBs.
