The final cuts

Canady was a roster bubble player that I wondered if we'd put on the 53 or put to the PS. I think with his size, we just want to make sure we keep him on and let him develop. It would appear his spot is becoming more secure, but I'm not sure what he's going to be able to give us this year.

Here's the way I see it... if Terrence Brooks was forced into a starting role, does anybody seriously think we would be OK?

By that time, you're basically starting Brooks and Lewis back there. At that point, its game over. Its checkmate. We will be giving up a lot of yardage and TDs, and there's nothing we can do about it. A worse version of the 2014 Ravens secondary.

Who cares at that point. Fans spend so much time arguing over who like the 6th best player at a position is, as if by the time he gets to play he's all of the sudden going to play like Ed Reed.

Waller suspended for four games so he doesn't really factor into The Ravens  53 man squad right now until his suspension is over.

True - but I do wonder how Waller is fitting into some of the roster decisions we're making. I'm wondering, if we do end up where all 3 TEs are still healthy when Waller is eligible to come back, if we'll still find a way to squeeze him on the roster and have him possible roll in as a WR.

I'm been using Jeff Zrebiec on Twitter and ProFootballTalk as references.

Honestly, if we waited for team confirmation, we would be hours behind.

You got a got point there, I don't do twitter so it is good others do and report from reliable sources.

So far in the cuts we've actually got pretty old in the saftey spots. all safteys 30 and above.

Sounds fine. We haven't gotten anything out of the young guys we drafted (Elam and Brooks) and its definitely a position where we needed to get more experience in.

FYI, you don't have to be on Twitter to read his tweets. They are public.

Ravens have been  the oldest team in the league for about 2 years.

Do you want us to sign young and inexperienced safety's just to say "we're young at that position. We're fine."?

LOL, yeah that's not even remotely true. Patently false actually.

These exaggerations aren't working.

No.  They've been about mid pack.

Just thought I'd do a fact check .... 2015 we ranked as the 15th youngest team. Right in the middle of the pack. Same with 2014.

I think the myth is perpetuated by the majority of the players who are quality starters might be a little high. That I'm not sure of. Guess someone should do an average age of the starting players, that would be interesting.

I thought the Steelers were older than we were.

According to the list, they are. The Panthers were the 2nd oldest team last year and that was clearly a problem for them ...

Good point from Zrebiec... expectation was that Ravens would carry 7 WRs on 53 man. Looks like it will only be 5, with Hester likely being the 6th if he is added.

Will open up roster spot to somebody else at another position. Probably good news for somebody like Pierce or Ochi.

Do we try and sign CB Dee Milliner from jets (just released) or roll with what we got?

Hate him. Rather have what we have than him.

Keenan Reynolds has been released:

What does the Navy say about service requirements if Reynolds isn't on an active roster?

No idea, but my guess is its roster period. So if he went to PS, my guess is that would count as being on a roster from their perspective.

if he ends up on baltimore ps he might get a similar deal to the pats long snapper or whatever - or an older type deal where he has to go to the navy yard 3 times a week around his training

Maybe it's the emotions speaking for me, but this is where it would be nice to expand the rosters from 53 to like 60 (IDK, I'm just in shock from the Butler and Brooks cuts).

SSS, Wallace, Aiken, Perriman, Matthews, Moore, and Hester would be 7 right?........or am I missing something?

yeah i agree - the gameday roster sizes dont need to get bigger but it just means that more players have a chance to develop
