I'm usually optimistic but I'm not going that far. I just want to win and I'll take it however it comes...I don't see a blowout mostly because I don't think our defense can hold teams down like in the past. This team has to prove it before I get my hopes too high...last year is still fresh

I feel the same but I think another 1 or 3 point win will happen (as usual). It will come to the last Q with 3 minutes left to determine fate

I think we'll have to put up at least 24 to win, and I don't know if we have the firepower, yet...

Pretend they are Detroit..... Wallace has not been fully utilized,SSS is not mad yet and I have a feeling Jus, West and Crock will play major roles. I want Jus for snaps at TE.  Hester will break one open and the dudes in section 117 will spill their beer all over themselves.  Time to contact the nuns at the convent for a group prayer.        GAME DAY ON THE HORIZON

Flacco crushes those stats and doesn't take over games like a Brady or cam or Rodgers does. Tyrod isn't taking this game over with his arm.

Thats actualy not true. (About flacco crushing those stats)

Flacco's season average for his career is 3,500 yards, 20 TD's and 12 Int's

Taylor had 3,100 yards, 20 TD's and 6 INT's (plus 500 more rushing yards)

Theyre pretty darn identical stats wise.

Agreed.

Until our offense learns how to overcome their slow starts, stalls and multiple 3 & outs and then to put up TD's in the redzone (along with the defense getting off the field on 3rd downs)...I won't believe this whatsoever!  I want to see it in action!!!!

The bills have two outstanding corners in darby and gilmore. They are weak down the middle LB area. Our TE corps could be what brings home the victory.

I'll be curious to see how much progress Smitty, Pitta and Max make this week. I wonder about the possibilities of them playing.

I think the original point being made was that Tyrod hasn't been asked to carry the team with his arm, so it's hard to tell if he could do so. Take into account Watkins' play second half last year and their running game it's obvious he had some good help. I think someone also mentioned that the Bills were 0 - 5 when he threw the ball more than 30 times.

Tyrod is going to be a good one, but it will take a couple, three more years to get a true read on the direction of his career.

I don't think we win the Super Bowl in 2012 if Taylor is our QB, and that's all that matters

That's also counting his first season and 2015 which is an outlier compared to the rest of his career where he has come much closer to 4k and his TD to int ratio is much better in those years. That's the problem with career averages, they account for literally no circumstances at all, it's including a Joe flacco who is far from the same qb that he is now.

Also, low int numbers is much easier to obtain if you have an outlet for yardage like explosive runs, flacco has often had to force throws, like in 2013 where Dallas Clark was his only reliable target and torrey Smith was our #1 And unsurprisingly it was his only negative int/td year.

Were comparing them as pocket passers, because the argument from the beginning was "if we keep him in the pocket He won't take over the game with his arm" and despite all these attempts nobody has made a compelling case yet as to why tyrod suddenly became an elite pocket passer, and I'm not sure why so many are attempting to argue it anyway because it's simply not true.

Flaccos season average has been far above 3500 for quite some time now, And the 20td stat only applies for seasons that he didn't play a full season due to injuries, 19 in 2013 And he was taken out early in weeks 16 And 17, 14 tds last year and he was on ir by week 10, so that's another misleading stat.

Factor in the 8TD drops in 2014 and there's the all magical 30TD, 4,000 yards stat. If only we had Dalton or Bortles or Carr or Schaub.

Not to mention he would have hit 4,000 yards last year easily, and he should of ended with 18TDs and 12 INTs since SsR dropped 4 TDs that cost us 2, maybe 3 wins last year.

Flacco's career has been plagued by drops, it's maddening. Even in 2012 Pitta and Jones almost did it in Denver. His WRs finally come through in the clutch when his passes are money and Flacco gets criticism for it, it's simply unbelievable.

I just hope we get back into the tradition of winning all our home games. Heck at least win the opener in M&T against a team that didn’t make the playoffs last year just like us. Also, beat the guy that was a back up for 4 full years for the Ravens.

Couldn't agree more, this game will tell us a lot about the team. I hope it's not a close game, I'm tired of not imposing our will anymore, let's see what we're made of, so sick of the last 3 seasons

Fair point, like last year, lots of players in roles they haven't been before on this team, lot of potential and unanswered questions, we need to see it first before we get ahead of ourselves.

Hello all Ravens fans! We are less than 1 wk out from kickoff. As a Bills fan, I hope for a great opening day game from both teams. I believe this is going to be one of those nail biting games. Anyway, have a great season!

Wish you the best as well. Lose to us, but beat the Pats, Jets and Dolphins twice! Make the best team win.

I'm really excited to see Ronald Darby in his second season. Always thought Gilmore was overrated, but Darby was the real deal to me. I'm super hyped up to see what he can do in year two.

I think you are seriously underestimating the Buffalo Bills.

With the season we had last year, I don't think anyone in their right minds should be underestimating another team. As much as I think we have improved, they still have to prove it over a full season. I think this'll be a close one.

This game may come down to who plays the better D. Both teams have weapons on both sides of the ball. I know we must pressure Flacco and hit him often. Football season can't start soon enough!!

Yeah but we have a stout offensive line and your pass rush is debatable at best. So, we'll see how it goes. Its hard to beat the Ravens at the bank. Ask Rex he'll be the first to tell you.

I know. I can't see making any blowout predictions until I've seen the 2016 version of this team in live action and see us playing a team that is floundering.

After going 5-11 and having the terrible start to the season that we had last year, games like this - against what I'd consider a good, but not great team - at home, are super critical. With that awful final stretch we have, we need to come out of the gate strong.

Absolutely. Especially since this is an AFC team that COULD be in contention for a Wild Card spot. Along with this game and the rest of the divisional games, the teams that I consider to be key games are: Jets, Dolphins (you just never know with that team), Raiders, and Jaguars. How we do in these 11 key games will determine if we make the playoffs or not.

Good points. I think the game comes down to a few things (really in particular order):

1. Can the Ravens get off to a fast start?

2. The run defense containing Tyrod and Shady

3. Jimmy Smith vs. Sammy Watkins

4. Flacco's protection

This will be harder said than done.

I'm sure Rex Ryan will send A gap pressure off the left side of the offensive line to exploit the LG (whoever it is week one), but the rest of the line looks pretty dominant. And if Flacco has a release (it was like 2.1 seconds) anywhere near what he did in game three of the preseason, not too many players are getting to him.

To be fair...you're saying, "if they play well they're good, and if they don't they're not good."

Not exactly a prediction...

I do believe it will be a challenge to put pressure on Flacco. He's a good QB. But don't underestimate Jerry Hughes speed or Kyle Williams. How has Stanley looked in the preseason? Does he look ready for your home opener? I will say it'll hurt us not have dareus out there.
