Heres the good thing. If we are as awful as some people say here

Myles Garrett

:P

Please don't talk like this. This is like the ultimate double-edged sword for me. I want nothing more than Myles Garrett here. I love him as a prospect more than any other guy I watched so far in the NCAA this year. Maybe that changes by the draft, who knows. Still, losing like we will have to do to get him will hurt badly. I don't want to see that. Then again, the draft is far away so we'll table these talks until February.

BLACKBOARD Material
Courtesy of Gregg Rosenthal - Around The NFL Editor

"Yet we never put anything past coach John Harbaugh and general manager Ozzie Newsome. Harbaugh didn't suffer a single losing campaign in his first seven years on the job, making the playoffs six times. The Ravens rightly took pride in being a top-tier organization before last year's 5-11 flop. Will we still think of Baltimore that way after this season? The Ravens face a Bills team this week that is simply more talented."

He's also Power Ranked us 24th with the Browns at 20th. Let's be sure to thank Gregg for the inspiration after we win this one.

He gave his intelligence away with ranking the Browns above any NFL team let alone the Ravens. I would rank the Browns below Alabama right now.

I'm not too worried about that yet. With the way his knee got twisted he'd still have been injured even if he had a clean record beforehand. An injury like that could literally happen to anyone who gets tackled, I wouldn't say it suggests anything chronic for the guy.

Oh I know. I actually meant to include that part but I was in the middle of something lol.

Ftr dixon was my CLEAR 2nd rb in the draft and was ecstatic to have him here and called him as the future starter and possible oroy.

Who knows, a video of him doing a bong might emerge on Twitter 20 minutes before the draft.

Gotta say guys, the last couple of pages were definitely intriguing and entertaining to say the least. Now I REALLY want to win this game now.

I'm hoping they win because I picked the Ravens right off the bat in 2 survivor leagues lol.

I think the emotion of this game will be at a all time high. This will be like a playoff like feel for the Ravens imo. With so many key players returning from injuries like Pitta, Flacco, Perriman, Forsett, Zuttah, SSS, Gilmore, Davis, Suggs and even guys like Jimmy, Wagner and CJ who are probably jacked to be 100% right now, their energy will be all the charts. Than you have guys like Wallace, Weddle and Hester as newly signed vets out to prove they are still high level players. On top of that this is a home game and the first opportunity to get the awful taste of 5-11 out of their mouths. Then of course there's the honoring of a fallen brother with the passing of Tray Walker(RIP #25) and if that wasn't enough you have the returning of Rex, Tyrod and Quick who'll add to the emotion of this game going through the roof from the Bills side because they'd love nothing more than to get bragging rights.

With the crowd rocking, the Ravens could have a great opportunity to jump on the Bills early and ride the momentum to a huge victory. Or the Bills could careless about all the emotion and come out and punch the Ravens in their mouth and see if a relatively young team can handle all the emotion. Should be fun!!!

This is the regular season. At Home. It's not fun unless we win!

He did miss a couple that he should have made, but saying they "directly led to losses" is a bit of a reach don't you think?

All but one of his misses were over 50 and please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall Tucker missing a game winner

Yea probably so, just thinking off the top of my head and knowing how many close losses the team had last year led to that statement. The only game I can remember being close to a game winner was STL. I think he missed one with about 1.30 on the clock and had he made it there probably wouldn't have been a reason for Flacco to return, thus not getting hurt on that final drive. But that's nitpicking. Last year was just so odd in terms of the amount of losses and how they played out.

We're a bottom five team and the Browns are better than us and we'll finish in last place.

Cant wait for this to be proven wrong

Good morning Ravens fans from several Bills fans. I'm headed up to the game with some friends and we are just wondering the nuances of the stadium, what to expect, what to do and not to do?  We are 30+ so we are not kids at all.  All but one of us has never been here, though we know several people in the area they didn't have much to offer about the stadium experience. Most of us are upper deck, for what it's worth.  Any insight is appreciated!

We are looking forward this but i think most of us expect a Bills loss.  Hope for a safe, enthusiastic and fun game!  Being 9/11 I'm excited to see what they will do before the game!

Didn't look it up, but I think most of his misses were at home, which I think has been the pattern for him.  Maybe the new grass will help as well as the new, "not sucky" season.

In my mind the first quarter of the regular season will tell us who we are as a team. I expect us to either go 4-0 or 3-1 worst case, but anything short of that cannot bode well for our season frankly just given our schedule. Winning early especially for a team filled with 1st and second year players will do wonders for their confidence and wins breed more wins.

I don't know how any Ravens fan could be not worried about this game:

--The Ravens are expected to win (a little less that 62% by the gambling public)

--In some ways, a close win is not good enough to validate contention (this is not true of all permutations of a close win, of course)

--Any significant injury will bring the spectre of age and 2015 back.

--Rookie contribution is important, because the team has a significant portion of its talent in older players.

--The Ravens have talked about defensive flexibility in the preseason, but what, aside from the dime, will they bring out in game 1?

--A loss will be devastating in terms of the team's chance to make the postseason.

So the Ravens need a 2-score+ win with no significant injury issues, solid rookie contributions/indicators, and a change of scheme from Pees.  The chance of a win is decent, but the probability of the type of win that can move the needle on expectations for 2016 is much smaller.

I have some friends coming down from Buffalo as well.

It is pretty safe here. Don't make any personal remarks. Don't say anything bad about Ray Lewis.

Simply put, your actions will dictate our reactions. This is OUR house. Treat it that way. You will be fine.

I'm worried about every game.  lol

I have to disagree with the couple of statements that I bolded. I think at this juncture any way we win is fine.   After all there are a crapton of new pieces here that have yet to play a game together and it may take a bit of time for this engine to hit on all cylinders. And while losing our home opener would be a hard kick in the teeth, I think for the same reasons mentioned above it wouldn't spell spell disaster, nor do I think it would be devastating to playoff hopes.

I will be at the game as well- coming up from VA at the crack of dawn. Just don't do anything obnoxious and you'll be fine. And if you plan on  staying tonight don't stray away from the harbor area or walk the  streets alone lol

I love Baltimore to death and spent a quarter of my life growing up there but its not the safest place in the world - that's just a fact. But as far as the stadium and inner harbor goes you will have a great time.  Thanks for your show of respect and feel free to ask if you've got any other questions. I will see y'all there and may the best team win. Ofcourse I expect a W but it will be no walk in the park.

Two  things that i see as most important for us to get  the W.

1) Containing tyrod. This includes getting OFF the feild on third down and not letting him extend drives with his feet.

2) the left side of  line holding up/ and the running backs/ juice/ tight ends picking up any extra blitzers. If we do those two things successfully I see us strolling to victory.

Ofcourse forsett and west being able to move the ball will help tremendously , and jimmy shutting down Watkins will be key. If those things happen as well- expect things to get ugly for buffalo. But yeah  this game will most likely be won in  the trenches and whoever's teams  qb  stays upright the most will likely win the game.
