Oh my god novabillsfan makes me nauseous. He's another one who says our sb47 win was due to a great defense.

If you say that then I'll assume you have only watched your team and literally stop watching football entirely the second your team is mathematically eliminated.

Thankfully there were logical fans on there to point out the obvious. And it's funny ppl think he's only doing it because apparently he has some mission to constant belittle Taylor, in this case showing how bad Flacco is and the fact that Taylor was a backup to him.

The only other post that made me chuckle was how confident a lot of them are that they will be able to run the ball at will on our defense, and specifically, how some people think that Dumervil being out makes our run defense easy to run on. Don't quite get that one.

He's an under-rated run defender, but I don't worry about the run defense because he's out.

That made me laugh too lol.I also laughed when a poster said Jernigan was one of our best guys in the front seven then in the same sentence said almost verbatim "and to be nice I'll throw Williams in there too".

Flacco crushes those stats and doesn't take over games like a Brady or cam or Rodgers does. Tyrod isn't taking this game over with his arm.

I think Taylor only played in 14 games last year.

Tyrod can't take over a game with solely his arm and challenge a good defense and make the aggressive throws required to beat a good D like Flacco can, simply can't and never will. He's a dink and dunker / mobile guy.

Tyrod was tied for 8th in the league last year with completions over 40+ yds

Bills RT Seantrel Henderson has been suspended the first four games of the season for violating the league's substance abuse policy. This leaves Cyrus Kouandjio as the RT for Sunday's game. Going to be interesting to see if our pass rush can take advantage of that and get to Tyrod all day.

yup. He does pick good times to be flukey though :)

You know, criticize all you like....  We could have a Dalton or a Romo who can't seem to do these things, but consistently get listed among the greatest QB's in the league right now.

Just sayin...I don't want to turn this into a Flacco thread....  But as you notice the Bills fans have already tried to do that.  They can come see me when Tyrod takes them to a Super Bowl.  I'm just looking forward to Sunday, myself.

WAIT...  Tyrod already has a ring....  that Flacco gave him.

Or you're a sheep. Defense made plays but we nearly lost because of them and the offense losing momentum.

This is what I never understood.  Ill take a mediocre regular season any day to get the elite style playoff games Joe normally has.

Flacco's playoff run can never be characterized a fluke because unless a QB has the ability it is near impossible to do it over 4 consecutive games and Flacco did it in the playoffs culminating in a SB win and MVP award. I would call it being in a tremendous zone. He typically gets himself up for playoff games like no other QB does. He just raises the level of his game for some reason. Flacco transforms into January Joe.

QBs can get into a zone and perform superbly in a stretch of games. Remember the now maligned and jobless Nick Foles? He had a 3 game stretch where he threw 10 TDs and no INTs and had a QB rating of 158 or thereabout. I dug up a link for it just so we can all get some perspective.

http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2013/11/25/nick-foles-has-a-record-setting-november/

Foles was in a zone during that period but has never been able to replicate it. But, Flacco has repeatedly taken us far in the playoffs and shown us glimpses of being unstoppable like in the Tampa game a couple of years ago where he threw 5 TDs in like 15 mins.

It is legitimate. Mario did not buy into Rex's scheme. He admittedly did not drop in coverage when the plays called for it. He was the 93rd rated pass rusher in the NFL. 93rd!?!! He had, I believe 16 or 18 tackles all season! There is film on him where he absolutely did not engage with the offensive tackle. Bills players called him out all year. More importantly, it was more symbolic that the Bills did not have the right players or the buy in necessary to Rex's 4-6, or 3-4 under, or 5-2, whatever you want to call it. This year Rex brought in Ed Reed and his brother to fix the communication and discipline issues. The defense appears to have bought all in, and although we lost Marcel to suspension and it it is a big factor, the Bills defense has gained some back in continuity what it lost in talent. Anyone who thinks chemistry and continuity is not a factor in football is fooling themselves. With this and Tyrod showing improvement, the Bills fans have something to latch onto no matter what the national media thinks. This will not be an easy game. The first team, although they didn't play much, dominated the line of scrimmage against the Colts and Giants on both sides of the ball. Good Luck on Sunday. May your team come out clean without any injuries.

rex ryan did the same exact thing that we complain about dean pees doing, forcing a square peg into a round hole. mario williams is not a coverage linebacker, he is, however, still one of the better edge rushers in the league, if you wanna believe he fell off the face of the earth talent wise in just one year(without any major injuries) go ahead but that is unlikely. if he has been doing one primary job his whole career at an extremely high level and hasnt ever been a coverage guy, then why the hell is rex forcing him to do something he has never really done and not allowing him to do what he does best? i dont blame him for being unhappy, this isnt a haynesworth case where a guy just made the biggest contract in history and is only asked to slide outside and occupy a different gap, this is taking a long tenured high caliber edge rusher in his 30s and telling him "forget everything you do well, do this instead, dont run forward and get the qb, run backwards and try to cover gronkowski in 2 games a year, try to run with jarvis landry in the slot, blabla" it makes no sense.

i know how much chemistry plays a factor, ive watched my team deteriorate from SB champs to 5-11 in just 3 years because of a lack of it.. but tossing out talent because he doesnt fit the scheme, instead of making good use of the talent within the scheme, is just foolish.

as a bama fan.... this means good things for the ravens.

every edge rusher on the ravens should absolutely abuse cy-kwan-djo. if our strongside rusher gets gassed then he will look better, but if hes gotta beat ZDS or even judon to the edge then he will probably lose often.

Please don't put words in my mouth. I never said Mario wasn't talented. Of course if he still was here, I'm sure you would rationalize that he is a has been and no threat to your team. Your team deteriorated because you lost your hall of fame talent. Your team is not very good anymore.

I understand Bills fans. I see us winning 20+ on Sunday. People think that we are a bad team because of last year but almost all of our losses were close games. Our team has improved on defense and offense this off-season.

We were a playoff team last year for most of the analysts at the beginning of the year. Now with a better team they all say we suck..

Sport analysts and meteorologists, man I wish I had a job like theirs.

Our team was a couple plays from beating the SB Champs in '14 with 14 point leads twice.

Last year we were beating the SB Champs until our most important player outside Flacco went down, and then subsequently lost veteran leader after veteran leader include QB, LT, RB, WR1, WR2, TE1, TE2, OLB, SS, and at different points in time anywhere from 1-4 CBs.

And, that decimated team still went 6-10 with all but 2 games decided by 8 pts or less. Health alone helps win 2-3 of those games, and FA additions plus a killer draft, from which our picks will actually be contributing to the team this year puts us around a 9-7 to 11-5 team.

This isnt a deteriorating team. This is a reloaded team thats among the most deep and balanced we've had in Harbs tenure. Our best team imo was 2011. This year will fall right behind that one when all is said and done.

We wont walk over your Bills. It'll be a great game as week 1 games are unpredictable and we're returning a lot of talented players that havent played in a year or more, and some young players getting their 1st starts. But once that all clicks, this is a contender.

Good luck with yourself. Clearly feel the need to compensate for something lacking in yourself that you have to come to a Ravens forum and defend every post that you perceive as a knock against your team.

Its the NFL, so sure, theres a chance you'll win. But, if you think your team is better than ours - you're crazy. Here's the difference - the Ravens are a team thats a playoff contender this year, and if they get in can actually do damage against teams like the Pats, Steelers, Broncos, etc... Whereas even if the Bills are a play off contender this year (which you wont be, because you have no shot with the Pats.... as usual... btw we beat them pretty regularly) you're not a threat to win anything once there.

Rex is done. Hes not a HC. Tyrod had a great year. Frankly, I think we've seen the best of him. He may reach those heights at times again in the future, but i dont think he's going to put together a full season ever again like he did last year. Teams have tape on him now. Hes not a surprise. Btw, Rex doesnt do well against the Ravens. Check his record against us with the Jets. Former Ravens usually dont do well against us.

Healthy Jimmy Smith has locked down Antonio Brown, AJ Green, Megatron, Josh Gordon, Hopkins, etc.... he's finally healthy again and ready to ball out. Watkins isnt scaring anyone.  Your LBs are trash. Your top 2 corners are good, and may do a good job against our top 2 receivers... but Aiken, Perriman, and our TEs are going to abuse your sub package DBs.

Your safeties are, meh. They dont have the speed to hang with Moore, Perriman, and Wallace. WHich means theyre going to have to drop. Give space. Play safe. Do that and our run game and slot receivers/TEs will destroy your nickel/LBs. Add a guy in the box to stop our run/short passing game and Perriman, Wallace and Moore are gonna score in 1 play.

Mark my words. This will be one of the most explosive offenses youll see all year. It may not be 100% oiled up and ready to go since its week 1 and a couple key pieces (Perriman, Steve Smith, Pitta, Flacco) havent had a bunch of time together yet.... but its still going to be a work of art with the mad scientist Trestman pulling the strings behind the scenes.

I think any fan (Ravens or Bills) that thinks this is going to be a blowout either way is crazy!  I foresee a close, hard-fought game.   Obviously I am a Ravens fan, but I respect the Bills and think this game will be won by 7 points or less (hopefully by the Ravens). Looking forward to a great competitive game this weekend!  Go Ravens!

Do you think that's a good thing? He gave up 78 pressures in his rookie season and was equally bad in his second season.

He didn't play in year three, as far as I know, and for good reason.

I'd be really hyped to trot out Jordan Mills if I'm a Bills fan.

By the way, you can go back, but I'm almost certain I acknowledged him as the starting right turnstile.

you had me going until you called it a work of art and trestman a mad scientist lol.

not one ravens fan should be sold on trestman yet, we have hopes, but hes got a track record that should make us all take pause.
