[News] 5 Things To Watch vs. New Orleans Saints

22 posts in this topic

I cannot wait for the final 53 and the practice squad to be announced. I hope the coaches are fair and equitable in their selection with the criteria being how well they mesh with their teammates and are they better as part of the collective whole than they may be with individual effort.

First, can Perriman survive the pre-game warm ups this time around? Really want him to come out firing and make an impact, could lift the whole squad seeing him flying around the field.

So pumped to see Perriman. Feels like unwrapping the new toy youve been waiting for on X-mas.

Banking on him making a big splash his 2nd catch. First one will be a designed quick throw to get it in his hands and some comfort. Next one hes just gonna torch the DBs and get behind for a big gain or TD.

If Butler doesn't make the team then there is something wrong, the kid has done nothing but make plays, and has been the most consistent WR in camp IMO...

I knew Waller and Boyd were not gonna be cut. I have heard that the coaching staff loves Waller and his potential. Boyd too. I see pundits predicting a Waller- less team I don't see that happening.

Waller isn't on anyone's 53 man roster because he's being suspended for the first 4 games. He doesn't count against the 53 until he serves his suspension, ergo it would make almost no sense to cut him.

Butler should make the team now that Watson is on injured reserved. Too bad it had to happen, but fortune sometimes comes from some else misfortune. Can't say I'm mad, for he has been the best receiver this preseason. Waller has so much potential, can't wait for him and baby #30 to get back. Honestly I think, Buck Allen maybe trade bait once Dixon is ready to go.

I agree, but its not like its the first time. Remember, Ellerbe intercepted a pass in that Rams preseason game and then did a little dab and stuck the ball out over the endline for a touchdown and Harbaugh went off. Then they decided he was an OLB, then a DE, then a OLB again. Took two years for him to get off the practice squad. Cary Williams as well. For two straight preseason he was a force in the secondary, yet final cuts we kept other less productive guys and it was only the year that he got the contract from the Eagles, he got a chance to start in the secondary and we won a super bowl (not necessarily because of Williams but you get my point). Kruger sat for many a season because he was a pass rushing force coming out of college and he didn't want to play special teams. You know how Harbaugh is about that so once again, several years sitting on the back burner before he got a shot and one year later he was gone.

Waller is another player who has had a solid camp, and played well in pre-season games, aside from the int he allowed by having the ball bounce off his hands, he has been abusing LBers trying to cover him....TE with 4.40 speed would be a tough cut IMO....

Waller and Butler need to make this team. I like Campanero but we have seen no evidence in the seasons he's been here that he can stay healthy.

I don't see Jensen as a bubble player, I think he's safe; and I would say Henry probably makes the team also. Given that Butler has done everything asked of him, and he's proven not only does he know the playbook, but is one of our few receivers that can stay healthy, you would expect him to make the team also, even if it means keeping seven WR. The Hurst/Ducasse/Wesley battle for final O-line spot is interesting, as is if either Price or Canady makes the final cut. And I expect Ozzie to keep an eye on players getting released in final cuts; He seems to always find someone who he feels makes the team better.

Can't wait to see Permian. I hope that the young man doesn't get too excited and mess his knee up. Just a short hook pattern for his first catch. Ease into it, young man.

Hoping to see a big night from Victor Ochi, Michael Pierce, Willie Henry, and Sheldon Price. Seeing Canady (is he actually playing?) have a big night could help him seize a final roster spot. If Powers is playing, I'll be interested to see if he still stinks it up as he has done in his 2 earlier preseason games.

True but my only problem with what you said is none of those players are impact players anywhere else. Ellerbe signed a big contract and done nothing. The same with Williams and Kruger. Kruger was just cut by the Browns for under performing. Ozzie as a eye for players that will be productive and doesn't. Butler has been a highlight reel in practice but wasn't showing it under the lights until recently (last year). He's finally stacking those practices up and showing it on the field. It's not like he just was picked up he's been on the team for a while, just under performing when its game time.

5 things to watch tonight:

1. Perriman
2. Waller (he is going to have a big impact on weeks 5-16 (and more)
3. Is Buck Allen worth keeping beyond the return on Dixon?
4. Is KLM worth keeping
5. Is Will Davis worthy of more PT and can T Brooks take the next step
BONUS
Can Judon keep the streak going and can Levine make the team!

I just want to see some nice passes and a few runs tonight more passes really to get everyone going because the pass is needed big time 'ESPECIALLY" against the bills and the bungles they read and react like our Defense so you gotta stretch them out and fool them fake handoffs pump fakes! And our Defense will suffocate them tonight giving up maybe 10pts! Maybe! WE THE BEST!

I'm excited also, hoping he runs a few routes 3/4 speed then let's it rip as he burns the CB on a long bomb
