So you think it's fine to let him end on a bad note like that?

I didn't think it was an easy catch. The ball was high and he took a bad angle. The defender was right there anyway. I didn't see it as a drop. He just failed to make a tough catch that would have gone no where anyway.

I don't know how you could say we are solid right now at any of those positions. Like I said, one injury and there's serious troubles.

What if Jimmy were to get injured? You really think we have the CB's to absorb that? Keeping 7 WR's will probably come at the expense of having another CB on the team.

We'd be screwed, even if we kept 10. Over half of our unit is made up of practice squad call ups and unwanted free agents. Very possible we can find a similar quality player if we need to, even halfway through the season. Levine or Webb can stand in in a pinch. Let's not leave an actual talent off the team for an easily replaceable player.

btw.. Matt judon really really does smash the QB when he gets there. It's james harrison-esque how hard he hits him.

Yeah you see even at the end of the drive 2 plays later the QB still has struggles breathing

He's a good third-down back, and he reminds me a lot of Shane Vereen from the Patriots and now Giants. That's not bad but it's not really ideal, either. I guess it depends on what we think we need. He could stick around here, for sure. I just don't think he runs very well. His best asset are his hands and he doesn't always cleanly catch the football. I recall three moments in this game he did not cleanly catch the ball. That's a real problem for me as a 3rd down back. He also isn't very great as pass protecting. He's not Dixon but he isn't Forsett, either. He needs to improve in that area if he's to be a 3rd-down back.

This may sound crazy, but I almost think we should relegate Forsett to our third-down guy. Depends on how Dixon bounces back I guess, but I wouldn't be wildly stunned if that were the case come the end of the season.

One thing I've noticed all throughout preseason is that we haven't had many true 3-4 looks.  When we have 3 big guys up front, it's been more of a 4-3 under.

That's great and all but if that is the only thing he is good at, why would we waste a roster spot on him when the rb position is loaded?

Because a Quality 3rd down back can very often be the difference between extending a drive and the qb going down or forcing a bad throw.

3rd down backs are unnoticed until you dotn have one

Makes sense, we'd have more ILBs fighting for roster spots otherwise.

How judon look and the D as a whole? And did perriman do well ? Watching app state.... Muhahaha

Terrific, abused their second sting OL for 5 straight plays (including a def TD)

Perriman had two drops (not easy ones), but two nice catches

Yep.  It seems pretty routine that we have 1 standup rusher and 1 with their hand in the dirt.

true but i think dixon can be a 3 down back next year. This year, we are going to carry 4 rbs i believe but next year, either forsett or allen is going barring west turning out bad so allen can become expendable imo

It's the fourth preseason game....

He looked good vs their starting offense. I'd rather have him on the team than Lewis.

Not much question that Forsett is in his final year here, unless he goes crazy and runs for like 2K yards or something.  That's why I think it makes sense to hold onto Buck, even if he ends up being inactive most of the season.  I'd rather have him for next year.

That also seems to fit what we have in terms of personnel. I think Correa is best standing up.

Josh Johnson is still an awful slider for a mobile QB.  It's definitely not a smooth transition lol
