It's really good news that Dixon will only be out for about a month.
On the flip side, it's not even the regular season - and he's already been injured twice since the start of camp...

Two players have impressed me the most so far this preseason. West and Dixon. West has looked so much better then I expected and has to make this team. Dixon has been everything, everything as advertised. Did you see the run where he was almost stopped and preceded to move the pile of defenders another 6 or 7 yards..that was INSANE! Quick, fast, smart able to find the open hole and add more yards after contact. The man has been so impressive when in the game. And lets not forget he was a late round pick...What?????

The same MCL at that.

So his MCL must be stronger than usual that it didn't totally collapse under Ngata's weight especially as he had previously injured the same ligament no?

I won't even claim to know the answer to this, but it sounds legit.

I'm assuming Josh Johnson isn't the same as Jerrod Johnson...

Nope.  Jerrod Johnson was the 4th string QB.

Josh is the 3rd string QB that played very well in the 2nd game and many were saying could replace Mallet as the backup.

I think Butler is just showing to much skill to leave off the 53 man roster. The guy has done everything he's been asked to do, and then some. I'm a little leary of keeping seven WR, but with Watson going on the IR, maybe you could justify it. And I think he gets picked up if we try to send him through waivers. I would hate to see someone like the brownies or bungles sign him and have to play against him twice a year. Hopefully the FO will work something out.

Big sigh of relief over Dixon's injury. Looked real bad when it happened, so i'm glad its not season ending. Sorry for Watson, though. I figured he would get some decent playing time this year and make a contribution.

And yeah, I liked Kruger when he was here, but knew he'd never live up to that 40 mil. contract. Raven's FO usually knows when not to overspend on keeping our homegrown talent. Speaking of which, I like how Ngata is realizing how 1st class the Raven's organization is, especially with regards to putting play-off caliber teams on the field. Really has to bite going from a winning culture to perennial losers like the Lions.

I don't remember him on the field - and the game stats don't have him either.

I cannot imagine him going through the waiver wire and come out still available for the PS. I'm quite sure he's virtually made the roster.

Just as Josh Johnson - although it's probably gonna be another roster.

DIXON'S a tough guy, glad he's back.NGATA'S a tough guy too, just ask RG3'S leg, can't we bring him back just to knock BIG BEN out of the games we play PITTSBURG?lol.I love BUCK ALLENS story and routed for him,but i'd take BUTLERS play making ability over ALLENS.

Surprised they didn't keep him for the 4th game.  Mallett maybe 3-4 series vs the Saints and both Johnson's split the remaining time.

I know everyone is eager to put Dixon back on the field but these knee injuries are hard to diagnose (see Breshad Perriman). Add the fact that this is twice Dixon has "sprained" the same knee. I think that a week 3 return is highly optimistic and I think week 4 - 6 would be more likely. In that case, put him on IR scheduled to return in week 6 and that opens that roster spot for Jeremy Butler. As we have seen in just 3 weeks of preseason regarding injuries, by the time we get to week 6 of the regular season, there may be a number of roster spots open due to injuries, lack of production, trades, etc... Dixon is a rookie, we have him for many years, I say give him the 6 weeks to heal. With Forsett and West we are good in the backfield with Allen as a change of pace. I can't see losing Butler when with SSS, Perriman and Campanaro on this team, coming back from injuries, may not make it even to week 6. I foresee we will need Butler this year, like last, and I would hate to lose that talent and have to settle for someone who is not nearly as talented.

Everyone is laughing about the bats on the field. However, bats carry rabies and have been reported to spread it without a bite (granted usually in an enclosed space). However, it is not farfetched to have a player with an open cut fall on that area of the field and inoculate the wound.

Its hard telling. The announcers ( I listened on radio) kept talking about other stuff while the game was going on.

Jerrod Johnson was so bad, theres no reason to keep him.

Why would we want him if he's not good enough any longer for the lowly Browns???

Just sayin'. We don't necessary have to sign him. He will just give us more depth at pass rushing Judon, Kruger, Correa, and Za'Darius Smith will be great depths behind Suggs and Dumervil but of how tight the roster is we might don't have a roster spot for him anyway.

Only way I could see him coming back is if we are decimated by injuries with our OLB's...in which case we would be in a world of hurt anyways.

Guys, don't get too worked up about getting Kruger back. He'll get an offer from elsewhere no sane GM would even consider matching with the roster we have. He'll get no less than a low-end starting pass rusher level money, because there are teams out there who need a starting level edge rusher, not just depth. And that's much more than what he would be worth for us at the moment.

So, I don't think there's realy possibility of him getting back to Baltimore any time soon.

Exactly. I guess it was a foregone conclusion anyway that we'd be gone by the time the last pre-season game comes. He has no trade bait value - so why keep him? We no longer need a camp arm.

I've checked several sources - they concurred my memories of the game: Jerrod Johnson didn't play.

I would love to get Paul Kruger back.

Kruger is just not a very good athlete, and he never has been, but being 30 makes him even slower. His pass rushing moves are just so mechanical, there is no fluidity there. And you have to remember Kruger looked like he was going to be a bust for us in the first three years of his career (he's only really had two good seasons out of the seven that he has played). He only got a chance to compete in his fourth year because Suggs was out. The overwhelming majority of his sacks come when the cornerbacks have locked down the receivers, and the QB has to hold onto the ball. The guy is persistent, but I don't really see him as a major upgrade over anyone that we have.
