I think Ryan Mallett got the backup spot even as good as Johnson is this preseason.

because of his contract

I still think hes promising

Yeah he can still make plays for you. I'm not sure how you can totally judge a guy as a RB playing with 3rd string offensive lineman.

If Dixon is healthy for game 1... they might even cut Buck Allen he doenst look good so far

Ya, that's not gonna happen. This is only his 2nd year, a bit early to tell how good he is or isn't. He looked pretty good last season so this could just be a sophomore slump

Only scenario I could possibly see is someone trying to trade for Mallett, and us keeping Johnson.

And even that is extremely unlikely to happen.

Dallas..  he's from texas.

I know they won't cut him ... and the way Forsett has been playing too.... both of them should take a look at West/Dixon

I agree - it seems like people get too enamored with late performances by players with zero experience. I know some think - we'll if Joe goes down we're done anyway, but that's not what a back up is really about. It is for if a QB goes out for 2-3 games, we can't lose a playoff spot by going 0-2 or 0-3 during the stretch. They want a guy who gives us the best chance of managing those few games and I have to think the team will view Mallett as being the one that gives us the best chance in that scenario.

I can see dallas calling us because romo is just too injury prone. He is out half this season and will probably retire soon

I wouldn't trade with those rats if our lives depended on it.

ps: But then again, if they offered rally good trade value, I'll swallow my pride and take it gleefully!

Anthony Levine Sr is the next Corey Graham making plays. I would let him start somewhere in the defense.

He probably will

I don't want to be caught making draft evaluations in the pre-season, but if it turns out this way, it will be the way our drafts have been going. Poor 2nd or 3rd round drafting that is made up for with later round picks. Let's not give up on Correa yet, though.

Trust me I'm far from giving up on him already.

Unless you're a Cowboys fan.

I've heard that Dak Prescott is the second coming of Jesus <_<

they've fallen in love with dak prescott though - the only reason we'd give up a decent backup is for a fairly attractive pick

Mike Wallace and Butler should trade their numbers have Mike Wallace get number 17 back and have Bulter get number 12. If Matthews gets cut give Butler number 13.

If they give us Frederick, we'll give them both our back ups and be happy with Keenan Reynolds as our back up!;)

Reynolds really doesn't look comfortable out there.

His (in)ability to get under punts is extremely nerve-wracking.

Reynolds just never gets a chamce

I think he's not playing well enough in practice to warrant playing time... maybe
