[News] Late For Work 8/23: Ravens Beginning To Look Whole Again

Pretty disappointed with how they're handling Ochi. They are hurting his career if they are deliberately limiting his snaps in preseason so severely (I think he has 12 total snaps in two games?). If he actually got playing time in preseason, he could be out there making big plays like Judon and making a name for himself, but neither fans nor the coaching staff will truly know what he is capable of.

If I was Ochi, I'd be ticked-off that the Ravens are not giving me a fair shot at the NFL despite my effort in practice (reportedly he's doing pretty well in practice). And if I was the agent of a future big-name UDFA, I would keep this in mind when my client is deciding which team to join: don't go to the organization that won't give you playing time in preseason even when you're doing well in camp.

And regarding Elam, it might actually make sense to cut him, allow him to recover from his knee injury, and then re-sign him mid-season if we need him. You're risking another team poaching him as a FA (probably the Lions with Teryl Austin), but this way it wouldn't completely end his season with an IR-designation, it wouldn't hurt the team by forcing them to use a roster spot on him when he can't play, and it wouldn't force them to use the only IR-designated to return that they have on a backup safety.

As I wrote earlier, I support Ochi as a great prospect. But the positions on the team he is vying for are loaded with young talent. Who do you take snaps away from to give to Ochi? You mention Judon, should we take away some of his playing time? Or Henry, Guy, Urban, Smith or Lewis-Moore? These guys need reps as much, and some cases, more so than Ochi.

As for him being a "future big-name UDFA", lets not put the kid in the hall of fame just yet. He has a good looking skill set and nice raw talent, but there was a reason that he went undrafted. 32 teams passed on him for seven rounds. Rather than being ticked off at the Ravens, he should thank them everyday for giving him the opportunity to achieve his dream of playing in the NFL. If the Ravens really think he's the real deal, the front office will find a way to keep him. We have a real good history of finding sleepers with undrafted players, and if Ochi fits the bill, we'll give him his shot.

YES! Not 100% but healthy enough! Yall better get on board and stop over analyzing this team and button up that chinstrap roll up them sleeves and get ready for some Raven football! Going to the restroom mite cost you this team so hot! Just can't waste time running up the middle our WRs should soften up any defense if used correctly and we got the backs to finish them off! #dontmessthisupyoungblood!
