The wide receiver will take part in a walkthrough practice as he slowly transitions back into action. If trainers approve him to play in Saturday’s preseason game, Head Coach John Harbaugh will have him suit up.

I just wish him the best moving forward. I really feel for the kid. I'm sure he feels the pressure intended or otherwise. I just want him to ease into playing full speed so he is as successful as he is destined to be.

Sweet! This is on top of the news that Dumervil was also taken off the PUP list. Jeremy Butler's chance of making this roster just got a bit slimmer unless the Ravens go with 7.

Smith Sr., Wallace, Aiken, Perriman, Moore, Campanaro, Butler?

Love to see the positive comments. The kid hasn't wanted to be injured and fluke things happen. Let's be glad we have him now and I expect big things from him. However, I love what Butler has been doing too so I hope this isn't an either or but By my numbers if Perriman isn't on PUP to start the year, or one of the tight ends doesn't end up injured, I don't see where there will be a spot for Butler.  UPDATE:. Just saw Pittas injured finger is actually broken. Stupid training camp fight. The bone will need time to heal so is possible Pitta starts on PUP leaving a spot for Butler...

If we go 7 WRs, then we will probably only go with 3 TEs, which we still end up cutting a good player. I think we keep 6 WRs with Butler being odd man out because of Camps return ability. Pitta, Watson, Gilmore, and Williams make the team.

At this point I'll believe he will play when he takes the field during a game. Until then he's out for the year as far as I'm concerned.

I have a good feeling about this. Last preseason game...

3rd and short, play action deep pass to Breshad 50 yard catch for a TD!

Keep him in a bubble until the opening game. That speed is exactly what the team needs and will keep the opposing D from putting too many players in the box. It obviously opens up the running game and alleviates the pressure on Joe.

i would keep him on PUP list , i wouldn't rush him , we also need the roster spot to see how good the other WRs, guys like butler looked good.

what's crazy is that he's missed only one year so far - more than KLM, more than Urban etc did before they played in a game and yet he's under the cosh (i know its because hes a 1st rounder but still... its vaguely insane)

cant go back on pup now that he's off it - they must be pretty confident he's coming back

I was thinking the same thing about butler..that may be his only opening.

but yeah didnt expect to hear this news today. A nice surprise indeed. Would be even nicer to see him suit up Saturday and catch a pass. Good to play it safe but he needs to get a game under his belt and get his feet wet  before we just throw him in the mix. The fanbase will go wild when this kid catches his first bomb lol

Its more than the fact that he's a 1st rounder, but that is definitely a factor. Had he gone down in camp last year and we knew from day one (as we did with KLM and Urban) that he was out for the year, there would be nowhere near the same amount of screeching over him. It was the constant waiting for him to be ready and then having him not be that was driving people crazy.

I can't see him being ready for ps game 3. He's not even in a full practice yet, I see no reason for us to rush him out there. I do expect that they'll have him out there for game 4 though. I'd think he'd be ready by then.

that's my point - nobody's looking at him with hindsight - we look at urban as unlucky whereas perriman is apparently injury prone yet they had similar injuries

I'm not saying it's fair, I'm is just noting the difference in these cases and how that difference feeds into the way some view Perriman's injury history vs. others.

For all the negativity that has surrounded him, note that it is really a very vocal minority that wants to blast him. You can bet, the first ball that Perriman catches in front of the M&T crowd, he's going to get a standing ovation even if it is a 3 yard gain on 1st down. People are just dying to see him play the game.

Geeez, he missed his rook season, higher draft picks last year missed the season, no need to be hating on him, no one was more disappointed than him, and when he is totally cleared, which they say in a few days, he will be ready to roll.....Wallace,Moore,and Perriman nice trio of deep threats....And Aiken always has a knack of getting behind CB's....

If anyone has a huge chip on their shoulder now, it is Perriman. I guarantee he will not ever take being healthy and on the field for granted. He now knows fully the process and pain of being held out due to injury. The fact he is in good spirits and keeping his head up and focused is a great sign of character.

Its time for him to Shine. Hopefully he makes it through the next 3 weeks and is ready to play in a Real NFL game. If he is going to take up a roster spot he needs to get out there and play. Moore, Butler and Campinaro have shown some great ability, so the big question is now do they keep 7

It seems clear that this guy is too fragile for the NFL. What is the chance that he lasts for the preseason much less an entire NFL game. I don't think he has the heart or the durability that his dad had. Might as well chalk this one up as an L. Talk about a china doll!!!
Focus on Aiken, Wallace and Chris Moore. But IMO, the player that can be better than all three of these guys is Darren Waller. You can't teach his size or speed. He has the biggest upside of any receiver the Ravens have had in recent history. I also like then heart and effort I am seeing from Butler.
With our TEs, Flacco should have all he needs to generate an effective passing game. As long as the offensive line plays up to their potential we should have a pretty good offense

It's now or never. I don't think the Ravens should or will cut a guy for a player who has yet to even practice. Also, why save him for game 4 of the preseason? Either he practice and plays in game three or he is IR'd.

He's got bad knees, one hit and it's all over. A cough could end this come back, it's time to move on.
