I said in the off-season that i hoped Indy would fire Pags to get him back, as Pees plays to soft a defense....We need to be aggressive, and attack, and not be on our heels all the time....I watched the Bills game, and with key players missing, Baby Rex defense was stingy, and i was jealous....

I think the Corners are the weakness. The Ravens may need to pick up a veteran cover CB. So far no one is showing that they are capable of covering the top WR's in the league. Jimmy Smith is seeing limited time, but the other guys are hit and miss.

The players are only as good as their coaches. Pees should have been gone years ago. Look for another disappointing season on defense. Pees has to go.

Get use to it. This team does not have the linebackers that can direct the attack against the run. Ray knew about 90% of the run direction but now they don't have the experience in there. Something John has yet to learn about veteran players. Ever since Ray and Ed left they have yet to fine a decent replacements. In reality, Ravens are no better than last year. I predict the Ravens will never get back to their former identity until John is gone and that's a shame.

I think Daryl Smith did a good job for us before he lost another step.

one thing I am tired of is the slow starts. Seems like it always takes almost a quarter and a half for us to get going. The kick off coverage has also been horrible. But at the end of the day were 2-0 so hey I can't complain too much.

Maybe they should get on the phone or a plane and Talk to Ray Lewis about being a DC. Nobody knows the Baltimore Defense better than him. I will bet, no I guarantee you we will see better results. Find Ed Reed and make him secondary coach. I believe they will do it if Ozzie asked them. These are two legends of the game that we would have on our sideline. I really do believe this would work.

Ray said several times that he didn't want to coach at any level. Of course that can change, but he seemed pretty convincing of the point. One of his sons is also in a heap of legal trouble right now.

I wouldn't put too much stock into the way the pre season defense looks too much. We're running very basic stuff and not really disguising anything. What you can take away from is who is winning or losing their battles. One on one our guys don't seem to be winning at the point of attack very often. We're not getting to the starting QB, but we seem to get to the back ups against the back up O-line.

A lot of our corners do seem to be struggling in straight up man to man coverage. Whether they are falling down which seems to be the case in a lot of instances, or they just don't have the foot speed to keep up there are a lot of easy catches happening.

If this trend continues in the regular season then it is time to worry. Right now I give a lot of pass to vanilla schemes and guys playing that might not even be on the team.

I have to agree. Love John and he is a great coach, but I think his time in Baltimore has come to an end.

"direct the attack against the run" what in the world does that mean.

Dean Pees man Dean Pees. They need to get rid of him. While he's here the defense will continue this way throughout the season especially the secondary. Keep leaving corners off the receivers. They need to hire Leslie Frazier as our DC.

our defense has consistently looked lost under Pees.

I think the writing is on the wall for Pees. Harbs' comment about "guys on the sideline being happy with 3 yard gains" was a dog whistle imo. Either this defense gets back to suffocating the run and creating turnovers or Frazier will be running the show after the BYE.

Bottom line is we got a good scrappy squad with a ton of potential on our Defense! If they give up a couple of runs so what can't loose focus on how our players read and react! Is why I'm not in favor of the blitz at this time! 5 men on the D Line is enough and this team will shutdown any offense! Shutdown the hottest team in football last season and it lifted all of our spirits and I didn't see any blitzing what so ever big ben held the ball and got swallowed up by our defense! This is not rocket science! # WE THE BEST!
