Wonder if perriman plays... Probably not but man I'm.anxious to see him

I don't see what it would hurt to let him play one series and just get him to run a go route in a straight line and just let Joe chuck the ball downfeild and see if he can go get it.

Although he did get hurt in pregame warmups last year so I guess it could hurt something lol..

He still needs to get under them lights and run a few routes just to shake the butterflys out before we throw him in there with the sharks during the regular season. Whether that comes this Saturday or in game 4 I guess we'll see. But he does need to get out there and can't play scared.

If anybody takes a cheap shot at joes knees I'm personally running on the feild to spit in the face of the culprit.

Way too gentle.  You could at least poke him in the eye.

Yeah I don't like the idea of him getting his first action in PS week 4. That is the most dangerous time of any NFL season. That game is 99% bubble guys who are trying desperately to make a name for themselves and possibly keep their NFL dreams alive for one more year even if it means getting on a practice squad. Id rather him start week 1 than play in PS week 4 lol. But the best option would be getting him out there with 1s and 2s who are gonna treat it as a dress rehearsal rather than a last ditch effort, he needs to get a taste of it before facing the likes of Ronald Darby in week 1.

I'm most interested in seeing how well our offense performs against the Lions defense in comparison to the Bengals defense vs Lions last week. It will serve as a good indicator of where we are right now.

This game will tell us a lot about Joe's blind side protection. With Ansah's speed, I would like to see if Stanley is able to handle him in protection. If he can, its a really good sign going into the regular season. That is one match up I'll be watching closely.

I want to see a 3-and-out by the Defense and a nice, sustained drive by the offense with a big, safe pocket for Joe. No hits, hurries, or sacks, please!

Agreed. Would really like for Stanley to hold it down (pass and run block) this game. The Lions were embarrassed defensively last game. They'll ball-out Sat. to challenge their resolve. This is a very good test not only for Stanley, but the continuity of entire O-line. Can't wait to see how we gel.

How will Joe Flacco play?  Will he have Pitta and SSS to throw to?

Dennis has a finger problem and would not be considered due to further injury. IMO

Besides Joe I want more Josh Johnson to ascertain if he is REAL

I think we'll see a lot of the 'quick/short slot and TE' passing game to avoid possible injuries. That said, I'd still like to see a couple of 1st down (unexpected) deep throws from Joe to test, loosen-up and stretch the field. Highly recommended for receiver/quarterback continuity going into the season.

One nice hit to the body / sack would do good for Joe, I reckon. It will happen at some stage, sooner the better.

I'm leaning more to the thinking of 'not this game'. I already know Joe can take a hit, but I think for now the O-line could really use a flawless, clean pocket quarter or 2 to build confidence for themselves and Joe. The sacks and hits can come later.

Well we get to see Flacco on Saturday and get some feel for the offense. Excited and kind of anxious. Don't trust Detroit not take cheap shots in the least.

I really really hope Jernigan takes it up a notch. One wonders if his success in his rookie year was having suggs/dooms/ngata and mcphee all with him and making it overwhelming and he would just pick up the scraps..

If we still had Mcphee i'd have 0 worries about this pass rush :( He just always seemed to collapse the middle. Urban has shown nothing other than an ability to bat a few passes and don't get me started on carl davis. Jernigan has to take the step up or this pass rush will be awful.

McPhee probably the worst free agent loss at least in recent memory when you consider his cost and how thin the depth was and is behind Suggs and Doom. Have to move on from this one though. Hes not coming back.

This will be a small miracle if he can actually play at full speed this soon after this injury. Amazing.

Well, between Flacco's first start after the injury and Perriman's first start ever, I'm not sure my heart will be able to withstand the pressure. Must watch from 3rd quarter on.

Still got a hoop to jump through then. I'm at the point where I'll believe he's playing when I see it and not a moment before. Be great to see him in good health and playing though.

As much as I (and others) give him grief/get frustrated in general that his first start always seems to be getting pushed back, if he plays this week it also suggests last year's injury was worse than any of us could have imagined.
