When you have a Wallace, it makes Perriman a luxury, once he gets on the field he can be worked into the offense slowly, and learn even more from Wallace, and be a force in a year or two....But if he comes back this year, he will make plays for us...Wallace on one side, and Perriamn on the other....DB's pick your poison.....

i'm confident, you know last years number 7 draft pick was lost for the year due to injury, so i really don't feel bad seeing where we picked him in the first, which was at the bottom end of the draft...Plus Moore gives us another deep threat, and my sleeper, when he serveves his 4 game suspension is Waller, he is shown he dominates with his size, and 4.40 speed is crazy for a TE....:)

Kendrick Lewis continues to miss practice and as far as I am concerned he missed last year also. Oh, he was on the field, he just totally missed everything, the receivers, the ball, the tackles, I am surprised he even caught the plane or bus to the games. I would rather keep both Elam and Brookes who are trending up than keep an injured, over-rated safety who was horrible last year and continues to show nothing.

that's why i think both Brooks and Elam have a good shot at making the team....

I think Phelps deserves a statue on the Inner Harbor, maybe close to the aquarium perhaps? Location notwithstanding, a bronze statue of Phelps with his 23 gold medals around him is absolutely necessary.

Gold medals in gold I meant to say...

It was the City of Baltimore that blew the Ravens opening game after the Super Bowl (it was not the Os) and now - no parade for the most dominating Olympic performances by Marylanders ever? C'mon man! You have a chance to show that this great city is more than just the Freddy Gray riots and you pass? Who's running this show? Nothing brings this city together (regardless of race, gender, religion, etc) more than celebrating our beloved teams & athletes - always has, always will.

Phelps statue should be at the inner harbor - you know, near the water.

Totally agree with you. Lewis has shown me nothing since coming to the Ravens. Brooks looks to have some decent talent, and seems hungry. I've taken him off the bubble and would have him making the squad. While a lot of people have labeled Elam a bust, i'd like to see him get one more opportunity to show why he was a first rounder. He has played decent in some games, but getting injured last year really hurt his career. Being a contract year, maybe he can step it up. In any case, i'd personally rather take either of them over Lewis, who looked totally lost out on the field last year.

Phelps should have his statue dead center of the inner harbor plaza. It can be electro plated gold over bronze. That's what is on the Bank of America building on Light street. So it can be done. I mean in over 2,000 years of competition he is the best of the best, c'mon Baltimore! GO RAVENS! 25

Going by the ESPN's most recent power ratings Ravens should finish 10-6 but lose both games to Steelers and Bengals. Outside our division only Patriots and Raiders beat us. According to ESPN.

Don't forget Chris Moore, who probably has the best hands out of the three.

Well, might have something to do with the fact that people who have actually interacted with Phelps in Baltimore don't exactly find him to be that great a person.

And people only care about Olympics accomplishments for about two weeks every four years (and that might be a stretch).

Not sure how putting together a good training camp qualifies as a player "trending up", particularly when everything you just said about Lewis applies 1,000% to both Elam and Brooks.

Really glad Tavon Young is back. I'm really not liking our depth at slot corner between Powers, Arrington, and Davis, though I assume Young will still be behind Powers on the depth chart despite Powers looking very bad in his preseason game (though supposedly he does well in practice). Hope he does well; I love to see smaller-school prospects succeed.

how many people visiting Baltimore or even residents have had or will have personal interactions with Phelps? Now, how many of said people saw him in some capacity either winning or celebrating his record amount of gold medals? Yours is a small argument against a national hero

In the greater Baltimore area... probably hundreds of people. Whether its a personal interaction or not doesn't really matter, because that's not a requirement to find out what kind of a person he is.

This discussion has very little to do with being a national hero. This is about putting a statue of an athlete in BALTIMORE. That's not a natural statue... its a Baltimore statue. Its symbolic to Baltimore, not to the nation. People in Topeka, Kansas can could care less if Michael Phelps has a statue in Baltimore.

As for the basis of what I said, its based on a few things. Obviously the publicly known things such bong hits and multiple DUIs don't really go over well for the "national hero" persona that you seem to have given him. Personally, as somebody who frequented the Baltimore nightlife seen for many years (as Phelps did), I've seen interactions with other bar patrons, particularly after a heavy night of drinking, that would certainly change my perception of a person. Granted, again, not everybody sees that.

Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of your comments is this notion of making an Olympic athlete, something we really don't care about at all (save for about two weeks every four years) a hero for just being good at his sport.
