ESPN Preseason Power Rankings - Ravens @ 12

That is a surprise to say the least. I wouldn't even expect this from LOCAL outlets. Hell I wouldn't personally give them this high of a ranking.

I actually think thats the range we should be. Right on the cusp of the playoff picture.

I mean, shoot, some were saying we had the most talented roster in the league going in to last season prior to injuries. We were prognosticated as serious SB contenders.

So, with health, some key FA additions, and compensating for some key players being a year older and coming off those injuries - it should still be considered a very good team. But, with so many question marks you cant project them at the top - so id say 12 is pretty fair.

With our history of comeback seasons I think it's a pretty reasonable ranking. I didn't see any teams ranked lower that 'strongly' challenged that possibility. I'm good.

That's true. I didn't read this specific one but most predictions come with notes of harbaugh only having one losing season and never missing the playoffs twice in a row, indicating that we're a bounce back team. Media seems to have taken notice of one our key traits, resilience

I'm amazed that the 49ers are last.  Since having gone to 3 straight NFCCG or better, their front office has made even the Browns' look spectacular.

QB depth chart: Gabbert> Ponder > Kaepernick, need I say more?

Look at their roster turnover from 2013 to 2015. Its staggering.

Oh I know. between guys retiring and free agency, the exodus is crazy.  The way the FO treated Jim, can't say they didn't deserve what they're getting.

All better than RG3.

Did you see the stat from this mornings LFW in regards to our bounce back ability? Stretches beyond Harbs tenure.

After every losing season we've been very good the following year. It's happened 3 times with records of 10-6 (AFCN title), 13-3 (AFCN title), 11-5 (AFC divisonal round of playoffs).

Pretty darn good record. Since '99 we've never had back-to-back losing seasons.

I think we are being grossly underestimated by the press which is fine. I truly believe we will be the best team in the AFC North by season's end and it won't even be close.

I think we were the best team in the AFC during some weeks last year. I mean we have always played the Steelers well. If you shut down Antonio Brown which we have easily then you just have to limit their run game and keep them in front of you. Also the Bengals lost a bunch of key pieces I think they take a step back especially with Hue Jackson gone. People act like the Steelers are way ahead of the rest of the league but if you limit Antonio Brown it is very easy to beat them. They have a couple stars in Bell and Brown and if you limit them the rest of their team especially their defense is probably under average. The media talks about talent and potential of their defensive players but they have yet to show any of it and until then they are still in the bottom half of the league on defense like they have been for awhile.

Meanwhile the Ravens may not have those superstars but I think the Ravens and even the Bengals are a more all around team than the Steelers. One wrong cut by Antonio and if he were to get injured I wouldn't be surprised if the Steelers went under .500

RG3 is bouncing back..

A buddy of mine is a hard core Skins fan.  He thinks (thought) RG-III walks on water.  I found a picture of Nagata tackling RG-III . yeah THAT tackle.  The one where RG's leg is literally wrapped around Nagata's body.  I was gonna buy the picture and get RG-III to sign it till I found out what his signature was going for.

But that would have been a great gift, would it not ?

( You used the word "bouncing" it made me think of that hit )

12th is higher then expected. The props are nice. Watched Miami vs Dallas and the Jets at Skins last night(all 4 teams we play). Jets look like crap. Dolphins are a mess. Skins were average. Cowboys offense great. Defense putrid. Not worried about any of those teams after what i saw last night.

if I remember correctly Haloti really didn't even tackle him. Bob just kinda ran into him avoiding the tackle. Could have been much worse.   lol

I've seen theisman and LT autographs on his well publicized sack back in 1985.

Surprised they gave us as high as 12th to be honest. Seems more than fair.

I don't like it, but whatever.  Preseason power rankings useless.

Lol!  Yeah that hit was something else.  A friend of mine always blames me and our Ravens (Haloti in particular) for disrupting RG3's career.

I think he'll find new life in Cleveland though.
