Who will make the 53? Powers or Canady?

I would like both Canady and Will Davis to make the 53 man roster. They bring great size to the CB group and they're pretty darn good at tackling and covering.

I'm sure injury played a part as Arrington was out and I don't think Young saw many if any snaps on defensive, but it was good to see Davis getting reps inside at slot. I don't think you can keep this guy off the field and if I were the decision maker, he'd be my top outside corner right now with Jimmy. I don't overvalue preseason but his abilities seems to be better than both Wright and Powers right now. So as either the #2 CB or the top slot CB he has to be on the field come game day.

Canady played with so much confidence on the outside. I haven't been able to really break the film down to watch his every snap but he covered well and had strong technique from what I saw. I 've heard reports that the coaches really like him and watching his first game action I can see why. My initial thought of him was that he was just a add on to a deep draft class, but he could very well be one of the guys that make this draft class a really strong one for the Ravens.

Canady is a difficult one. Its not a given that you can always sign a player to the PS and IR'ing them to me justs stunts their growth and delays the inevitable.

Right now I'd like to see Canady make the team over Powers since so far I'm not impressed with Powers(Arizona had no interest in resigning him at all) at all and he just reminds me of Arrington and we don't need another nickel CB that can't cover and is looking like crap. Right now I'd be more happier with Young, Price or Davis as the slot guys and Canady or whoever it should be being the healthy scratch on gameday.

I agree. Canady has big upside, Powers is a fair player at best. Canady has intangibles, like heart, and if we ps him, he will be snatched up in a heartbeat. You give this guy a year in our system, and he will far exceed anything Powers brings to the table today. Somebody saw something in him when we drafted him, and I think they were right in doing so.

I like the Canady draft pick and I said before I thought he would make the roster. But after seeing Price play so well and signing Powers I think the best choice is to stash him. Powers is a multi-year veteran who has proven to be a solid reliable player. Price has been playing well, along with Will Davis.

I wouldn't be afraid of someone taking our 7th round pick. I don't think he is proven enough this year for anybody to sign him off of our practice squad.

I have to update my previous prediction. I think Will Davis is pretty close to a lock to make this team, especially after seeing him supplant Powers in the slot during game 2 (at least in the first half). At this point I have some doubt Powers even makes the team because this is 2 games in a row where he has looked awful, though I still think he makes it. Canady didn't show enough game 2 to earn a roster spot.

Davis is almost guaranteed a spot with how he played in the one game last year and the preseason this year. I think he could be the starting slot corner and has some chance of taking Wright's spot on the outside.

Canady is good for outside corner depth. With Powers, I think he'll be part of the last group of cuts. Davis or Levine will take his spot in the slot.
